Do you think the OSRS dev team would consider adding the skill dungeoneering to the game? When you were talking about dungeons, it made me think about if they ever will.
Mid lvl dungeons/raids from 50-80 combat lvl range would actually be sick. Would give newer players something to do other than grind stats until they can do the cool shit. 100% needs to happen.
yup. biggest problem with oldschool is that the major argument about lacking early game content is "it gets good bro just grind". we need something to do early on.

Agreed im fairly new and the grind is fun but also just exausting. Something fun like a dungon would be really cool. Even somthing like a low drop key to get in yaknow?
it takes like a month or two of playing to get stats for raids lol. Most can be done in pretty basic gear. Definitely doable for the average person if you put some time into watching guides and learning each room by room. you dont need 99. Base 90 melees. 90 range and 94 mage will get you most bossing
Thank you for always being a voice for all sides of the player base. So many content creators wish the low-mid level players and game just didnt exist and take dev times its insane man. its one of the things osrs does better than any mmo imo
@@SomeoneGreenPlane it's only DOA for the people who are past the mid game and already into pvm, that's fine that person is an extremely small part of the community. It's very very rare a osrs release isn't DOA for someone

Love the goblin dungeon idea. Put a few waves, like 10 goblins, 10 hob goblins, 10 giant goblins and that boss goblin that attacks with 2 styles or something. Make it super entry level, and have it drop something a bit better than rune to fill the void between rune and dragon. Seems like a weeklong project, and nobody would care if it re-uses a dungeon layout from somewhere.
Sounds like a cool idea, but I don't think we really need another tier between Rune and Dragon, honestly low level gear is so affordable that I would rather they add something more useful to somebody that level. Maybe the equivalent of an item that a higher level would have but with caveats.
there exists something between rune that fuckin noone gets. brine sabre. why not use that to make a more interesting twist? an interesting boss rather than hundreds of brine rats with a better drop rate or something. it's small but they could just make something interesting out of dead content.
they should add some more f2p content quests and boss. i like the goblin idea. something better then rune that free t play can get would be nice. i am a member btw.
Man, I would absolutely love traditional MMO dungeons in OSRS. Even with strangers, they’re my favourite part of MMOs and my preferred way to level alts. A man can dream.
Regarding the gear switching, I feel like having a f2p ice/fire giant boss like Obor and Bryophyta where it uses "overhead prayers" similar to Kalphite queen might be a good way to get players introduced to switching gear during a fight. Have the monster be super weak to attack styles but essentially immune to the one it's praying against. That way players will bring multiple attack styles and learn how to switch mid-battle. Or have them throw objects like the demonic gorilla's/bear from getting ahead. Giving a boss one of these mechanics individually might help players recognise them in later fights where there's multiple mechanics happening at the same time.
When they started hyping the next new skill and said "this is the most requested skill in OSRS" i made my first twitch messaged "they are finally adding the sex skill" and i got banned immediately.
One thing I wanted to touch on - I REALLY agree with you that some updates need to let the devs creativity go wild. Varlamore would be a great place to do so. If adjustments need to be made after release, fine whatever, but I agree heavily that knowing exactly what we're getting before we get it takes away some of the magic. You're 100% correct that content isn't put out often enough for a playerbase the size of OSRS's. Polls destroy production times.
So if there is a dungeon boss placed in that goblin hut in Lumbridge, does that mean Sigmund was justified in trying to start a war against the Goblins?
Plot twist, Sigmund was always right. Just because there's one instance of one singular friendly goblin tribe, does NOT mean all the others don't still support the literal WAR god!
@@MeinzeBrouwer i would say the same thing about marvel and thanos... was thanos really bad for doing what he did? or did marvel force a narrative to make us like the avengers and not see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sigmund may have been right all along but Jagex wouldn't want us to know that!
@@lovathon6365man had infinite power at his literal fingertips and killed 50% of the universe without even considering making infinite energy and sustainable food possible. He deserved it.
Love your takes J1mmy. I still find myself min/maxing stuff from time to time, but I've only managed to stay invested in this game so long by trying to know only enough about it to hold my interest. For me, tile marking and repeating the most efficient ways to gain exp turn my hobby into a job, not the adventure that I grew up loving and exploring.
I get the feeling he'd have to dial back a lot of his ideas once he got the concrete financial data he'd need to actually consult a company... Not faulting him here, but it's obviously a lot easier to throw ideas out there than it is to actually help a company make profitable decisions.
Bringing ideas from other mmos to put into a totally different mmo is not a good plan. Yes we need more content at a higher pace (though he saying we got 4 things in a year is not exactly a wild concept considering other mmos who get a patch every 4 months for 2 days worth of content), yes we need to ignore the minority that are the high end pvmers/inferno challangers. Yes we need to fill some gaps in content. But what he was suggesting is not only doomed to fail, it might potentially be damaging, and let's say it isn't and it's just content for content's sake, it will die very fast. Now let's say you don't care about it dying, consider this, how much of his brainstorming actually was throught trough? The dungeon idea for example, play any dungeon in any other mmo and think "yeah this will work in osrs" i fucking dare you. Also...ever heard of dungeoneering?
You had me dying from laughter @30:46. "This doesn't feel like a video game anymore, it feels like this class project that we've all worked on together". 😂 Bros tired of their 💩 . 😂😭
Jimmy you are so correct on the low-mid level content for players. It's insane how much content is locked behind maxing. I'll never get to some things, so I have to watch creators do it instead of myself.
dude I've been stuck in mid-game hell for so long. It's just bossing and/or slayer so you can get more money to get gear upgrades to eventually do the good content after like 500 hours. There needs to be some sort of dungeon or mid-level raid that's actually fun to do and not the same boring grind
Dude, having a mechanically challenging boss in the 50-70 range, and have it be free to play content, it would be a really fun into to not just that aspect of members, but a natural progression out of f2p.
Absolutely spot on about not polling Varlamore, and just letting players experience it without knowing. That is so much more exciting over knowing every single little detail about it before release
@@foot_fetishThis is a silly counter to this topic. Every poll, there’s discussion inside and outside the game. If you’re a regular of runescape twitter or reddit or even discord communities, do you understand how hard it is to constantly censor yourself over discussion of big updates? And for as long as the system exists like this I’m not going to suddenly exclude myself from everyone else’s discussion. The point is: no video game does this, and it takes a huge sense of “experiencing” out of any update.
@@J1mmy OSRS is unique in the fact that it's been ruined before (for most people). It's also special in that it has been developed in a way that content from 10-20 years ago is still relevant today, NO other mmo does this they will typically have old items, content and locations become completely obsolete the moment a new expansion hit. These 2 factors lead to longevity being a major community concern and giving the devs free reign is seen as a risk since they may just add insane power creep that completely changes the meta of the game. Prehaps if the devs were more open to buffing and nerfing things people would be more onboard with them adding some content without polling as it would reduce the risk. Although I do agree that non reward content could be unpolled in most cases as rewards are where 90% of the damage has come from so far. As for social media providing unavoidable spoilers unless you are constantly browsing or being around people who do, you can still pretty easily avoid any spoilers beyond something as simple as WOW NEW BIS RINGS AND BOSSES!!! Which in my opinion takes literally nothing away from the content.
@@foot_fetish I'm with you on this one, especially about not following info. RUclips basically stopped recommending me OSRS content at this point. The only OSRS streamers I kinda tune in once a week are PVP focused, and all it takes for me to be in the dark is to not go to the OSRS subreddit. Also yes, we were VERY burned before, wildy removal in 2007, EOC, squeel of fortune to name a few, and you're 100% right, other mmos have absolutely irrelevant content. I played ff14 and did week 1 savage raids before. And for what? For them to become irrelevant 3 months later when the new patch hits. Sure the challange was fun and the clear was great, but there was never any reason to do it again after the first completion, from which, all you may end up walking away with is bragging rights and not even a piece of gear to show.
@foot_fetish he was also emphasizing they've had lots of time to learn from their mistakes and from the community and letting them exercise their own imagination could end up very special and an excellent test for them. Nothing to stop them from tailoring things that may have failed after its released. They could be very general about polling without spoiling everything about it taking away from any sense of wonder they intend for the content
plushies smh. I remember being in middle school in the early 2000s wishing jagex would make little customizable RuneScape action figures where u could buy little packs and snap armor on them :( lol they can make them like lego mini figures n make it random inside like armor packs "omg I got dragon armor" or weapon packs and stuff :( im 31 and still wish they would do this lol
I think they're really reluctant to release content without a poll because they have made huge mistakes in the past that have really damaged the game, community, and most important to them, their revenue. I totally agree that they should pull back a little bit on polling every single thing so we actually get stuff that is a surprise.
I like the idea of dungeons Jim. I don’t think as low as 20-30 level dungeons. Xp rewards and how easy it is to rocket up I think would invalidate those easy. Level 40-50 I think would be a good place to start the dungeon levels. Great video Jim.
I don't currently play RuneScape, but I keep up with my favorite creators. Thanks for keeping people like me in the loop about the game like this. It was very informative and enjoyable as always!
It's weird to think that there's a very good chance that the old school team has seen this video and is taking J1mmy's opinions into consideration. Idk, just feels like they still REALLY care about the game/content they're making, and not phoning it in. Helps with my investment in it if I'm being honest
I wish somebody would make an essay like this about rs3, especially when Jim talks about not catering to the top 1% of players anymore. I'm with him when he says "fuggem"
@@kyle6266 agreed, the massive gap between mid level and endgame is wild. Even with powercreep assuming your even semi capable, araxxor is considered mid level and I'm betting at least 50% of the players can't even get a kill
@@wakenbakeling Playing RS3 as an ironman helped a lot with that for me. On my main it was way too easy to buy my way through a lot of the gear tiers, and then end up in a place where I was supposed to be farming the hardest bosses in the game for money but had no idea how. On ironman there's more incentive to fight the intermediate bosses instead of just buying full bandos/subjugation etc., which made the entire progression feel a lot smoother and intentional.
@@Mooo105 my issue is the lack of preparation jagex gives you between mid and end game. All the mid teir bosses are basically afkable, then as soon as you jump into say Telos, you've never used a defensive or had to time a stun until that point.

God dam it j1mmy you did it again making great content and having me sit through a 45 minute video essay on the summer summit which i already watched! well done.
So Framed invented Trailerblazer Leagues, and then J1mmy invented DMM: Apocalypse. And yet, Jagex won't let them keep the profit from selling plushies. Seems fair.
@03:46 The answer to your question is probably 2018. Dragon slayer 2, Challenge mode Chambers of Xeric, Bryophyta, TOB, and arguably the most important update of all time OSRS mobile.
OSRS isn't about rewarding low effort, it's about the long journey to something great. there is plenty of low to mid level bossing. Raids should be hard to reach, it makes it worth having. The reason OSRS outshines all other MMO's is because they don't give you everything you want in a little bow right off the bat. you have to work for it and earn it. So once you have it, you feel proud. Nobody feels proud of a gift, we all feel proud of something we earn't ourselves. If you want easy progress, there are so many games available to you. I would never advocate to dilute RuneScape's grind. It is why the game has stood the test of time. Hard and long is a good thing. ;)
What would it even give? You couldn’t give it regular alch drops that are any good or it would break the economy and you couldn’t give it gear relevant to endgame. I guess you could have a unique skilling resource that gives good xp but good luck getting that past a poll.
To be far the low tier OSRS pvm is able to be approached in the same kind of time frame. Bosses like barrows, sarachnis, kbd, mole, obor, bryo etc. These all have incredibly low requirements.
@@VallianceRS All the bosses you mentioned require a mid level account (and likely some game knowledge as to what works best) to do effectively. Some are also solo bosses. There isn't really a lot you can fight as a low level character with a team that would be rewarding or engaging. When I introduce people to OSRS and create a new F2P character to show them the ropes, I always struggle with coming up with combat content that we can to together rather than next to each other. Stronghold of Security is perhaps the most interesting location, but it could really use some low level boss mechanic to keep it more engaging. Perhaps if you kill enough mobs, a superior-like one spawns with multiple attack styles? I think Jimmy is onto something with low level untradeable rewards that would be better than regular gear that you can buy for your attack/defence tier.
@@MJ-ze3vwbarrows is by far the easiest boss to get into. When I started osrs I got barrows ready in about a week and thats if youre inefficient. You only really need 50 mage/range, like 40s melees, 43 prayer, a ibans staff, a msb and a rune scim. If youre efficient you can get there in a few days.
Runescape 3 quests are exciting but they basically destroyed the mystery and wonder when they killed Guthix and reintroduced gods back in the world while making the player this replacement of sorts for Guthix as the protector of Gilenor. I don't know how the OSRS are gonna handle these quests when the time comes, especially considering their position of wanting to keep Gods as background characters without any direct pressence on Gilenor.
as another lore goblin i am excited and intrigued with the fact that they've implemented xau-tak related content in dt2, not a path I expected osrs to take
made a video on my channel bout xau tak if ya want :D i think theryre uniting the lore by allowing it to exist outside of the universe. the necromancers in kourend have black stones around them :) it all is going to unite. sailing is going to be a huge part of it as well since the entire arc story is about kranon and xau tak
I don't know a whole lot about xau-tak besides cthulhu-style dark tentacle monster, but the upcoming addition of Sailing really adds a massive amount of design space for expanding on xau-tak and eastern isles lore and I'm hyped for it.
If anything, not knowing what's coming would BRING nostalgia. Being able to adventure anew rather than fuckin sweat it out and rush content, sucking any fun out of Varlamore
Jim you did great with this video. Definitely agree the RS3 menaphos is the sort of skilling hub that osrs needs. People congregate to the Grand Exchange to buy stuff and then head off to do content but skilling hubs where people are encouraged to collectively do content, especially in the mid-game, would be "extraordinary."
i like the idea of dungeons scattered around the worlds. they really dont have to be grand or give expensive, bis loot. I think it would be cool if say killing goblins in lumb gave a chance to drop a key to their "hideout" which could be essentially a handful of rooms u would use combat and other skills to progress through to receive a bit of loot. Could do that with things like skeletons or guards as well and work up to maybe a lesser demon dungeon or green dragon
I love the idea of a Varlamore iron man but could see this idea being expanded to other regions as well. Similar to how in WoW where you start in different regions as a blood elf vs an undead, you could start as an asgarnian or morytanian, etc. and have region specific things to do before going to the rest of the world.
This, was looking for a comment like this. Would be awesome to have something like this. It’ll give mains a replayability factor, and they can take their area locked Ironman free after a certain completion, at which point some people will main it, or switch to another area.
When a restricted ironman says they spent 20 hours jumping over a bridge or pickpocketing men, I don't really think "oh hell yeah, let me have a go at that!" In fact, part of why I watch is *because* I would never do it myself. Point is, I feel like the popularity of restricted ironman accounts on RUclips shouldn't be confused with a wide player interest in actually trying it themselves. Maybe if the area was balanced with this experience in mind, though, then it could be doable.
@@Mooo105 or if the area gives you a task list or specific goals required to build reputation prior to being able to leave the starting area and does not include said 20 hour grind of jumping over a bridge or thieving men im sure that would apply to a greater audience.
Yeah, I’m definitely not looking at that level of restriction, more a structured approach. I really enjoyed the first leagues as I explored kourend to a level I never had before.
Your points on early level dungeons/raids is 100% spot on. My friend got me to make a group ironman with him which I've been enjoying. I'm used to WoW where I can run dungeons or kill rare mobs at really any level above 15-20 even in hardcore mode and get at least *something* from it. In OSRS the time investment needed between early game and late midgame where you can start PvMing consistently is *huge* and there's just not much in between that teaches you combat skills you'll need for high level PvM or rewards you for training combat. Unless you count killing Obor a few times just cause you had the key and high alched the drops
J1mmy, we voted on sailing over other skills 5 months ago! We waited twice as long as that for your SOTE episode. I think you can give the devs time to work on sailing, and make sure it's really awesome!
@@josiah7913 I can't help but wonder if they're pretending they have to trip over the polling system on purpose so they can drag their feet on content development. Like Jimmy said, most of the best content in this game was made by 3 guys in a couple years.
Trailblazer Reloaded has been the most fun I've had with OSRS in a long time - I've surpassed my main though so I don't know what sort of whiplash is gonna hit me when I have to play normal slow RS again
38:00 Dragon Age allowed you to pick your starting race/class which altered your early game and how NPCs interact with you, I think that would be crazy to see. You could even tie in the major quest lines of certain areas (monkey madness for Keldagrim, Sins of the Father for Morytania, etc) as your prerequisite for leaving the region
point ur making about early simple dungeons with demi bosses is spot on, especially with untradable minor inbetween upgrades. Hopefully Jagex is paying attention;)
honestly osrs needs a boss with teacher role like rs3's arch glacor is (customizable mid game boss to teach mechanics 100% safe with upgrades and a hard mode with high level upgrades)
Congrats J1mmy, you are the first youtuber who has made sponsored ads good enough that I will sit through them. Very entertaining and I like your style.
More than 50% I think, I don't care about endgame because I work 45+ hours a week not counting the commute. On top of that, there's more to play than runescape, like I have to grind the VR version of tarkov, and I get like an hour and a half of play time on that every other day. If I play runescape, it's woodcutting while I have time to multitask at work.
I played 2007scape back in the day, now play RS3 and Elder Scrolls Online off and on. The dungeon thing needs to be implemented. There's like 20 base game dungeons in ESO, and they can be played on 3 different difficulties: Normal, Veteran, and veteran Hard Mode. I think Old School would benefit alot from something like that, and the scaling difficulty would make it accessible for almost all players. To build off your goblin dungeon example, the final boss mechanics could differ based on difficulty, kinda like how you can disable mechanics on RS3's Arch Glacor. You could also put a skeleton at the hole entrance, and have "push skeleton" as the encounter start action for a not-so-subtle LOTR reference. 😄
Totally agree on adding all three of the skills. I too voted for Taming since I love animal buddies and whatnot, but Sailing also looks really cool. I hope it means getting full access to the ocean areas on the overworld without any dumb limitations on where you can go... And for Shamanism the Spirit World idea I think has a lot of potential. A sort of mirror world where you can bypass barriers in the normal world or something
i would love to have tamoing. i ama big pokemon fan and having a monster buddy with me fighting mobs would be fun. i am super excited for sailing and perhaps after its released tgey will make taming the next skill
Just add a raiding cape. Starts at bronze and goes up to dragon. For people who can't do fire cape or infernal. You upgrade it by doing all the low level raids. Add some level requirements for amulets and rings, and make low level raids give rings with low level requirements but decent stats.
Thank you for this. I play casually as well so I share a lot of your feelings on stuff. Why they cant just put new things in without a poll is baffling. Why would you not want new content in your game from nearly 2 decades ago?
Also love your video essays like this, hopefully it does well because this is the kind of content I love to see from you! By Release is also great of course but hearing your take on osrs and rs3 is always refreshing, especially compared to reddit's general reeing.
I had a whole long comment about DT2 and WGS but deleted it because I felt that this is more important to say: I spent over 100 (maybe 200?) attempts to complete the inferno, and was trying to grind towards completing a lvl 500 ToA. I agree that this game lacks late game, challenging content. If I were more devoted to this game, inferno and ToB would definitely not be enough. edit: nvm J1mmy thinks taming would be a benefit to OSRS I no longer agree with any of his opinions
I think the region locked Varlamore idea would be a huge breath of fresh air especially for a new region release. Even just what we have of Kourend right now could support this idea
Congrats on the House! My partner and I took on that Journey 2 months ago as well, very stressful, glad to be a bit past it. You'll be there soon too :)
I haven't played in like 2 years but I did since 2006 when I was in 6th grade, I've noticed runescapes business model runs off the fact that everyone gets excited for something new, it dies out, and then everyone is excited for the newest thing, it dies out again, and we keep falling for it over and over and over. Still a great game 10/10
They should recreate the Goblin quests from RS2 that didn't make it to the OSRS backup, finishing with the Chosen Commander, and then turn that into a mid-level raid for players to learn more complicated combat mechanics.
I finally got my POH finished this week, which has been my core runescape goal for like 3+ years. Now that it's done, there is no more strife to play the game. Yeah, hosting my house is cool, but it's usually dead because everyone just goes to the big name fully efficient 24/7 bot houses. I'm probably going to let my membership burn out and come back for big content releases that interest me. Which right now just looks like sailing, and who knows when that's going to come out.
Rs3 does untradeables really well. If you want to pvm even slightly effectively, you need so many different skills levelled up. The power creep has made loads of bosses early game, like you could farm gdw1 for invention parts and then once you get invention you have all this hard work pay off
Just rejoining runescape after like 15 years, my account is almost 20 years old. Just started watching gielenor games for the first time. Really enjoyed this style of video, Jimmy. I haven't had the means to properly play OSRS for a few years, but I keep up with my favorite creators (hint, you're one of them), and I appreciate when they share thins about what is occurring with the game. Personally, I really liked all of your ideas and if any of them end up being something that is forged into the final products, that would be epic - especially about the new area. Glad your moving stress is seemingly done and I hope you, flutten, and the pets are well! Take care.
I bought RSGP meme coin on Solana and made guap, also a GOBLIN plate mail meme, buy bitcoin so when you retire you can pay your bills and grind xp in the nursing home
You managed to put into words what made me switch from OS to RS3. Despite hating RS3 with a passion, I grew disillusioned with OS' update schedule and vision, so I gave it a try. You hit the nail on the head. There's no wonder or mystery to updates in OS. Everything has been memed and hashed out and quarrelled over for months or years before it makes it into the live game, to the point where it can already begin to feel stale by the time you finally get to play it. There is simply so much content in RS3 that is new and alien to me that discovering it for the first time without any context or background is more enjoyable. And as much as people meme on abilities and such, it has grown on me and is far more appealing than the archaic boss mechanics of Oldschool. I really love the idea of a region-based renown system in place of diaries/combat achievements. These systems are so out of place and don't contribute a thing to the world -- they exist solely for the player. Having tasks and quests increase local renown would incentivise players to explore and complete regions to the fullest rather than being stuck with a laundry list of vague and meaningless busywork and skill benchmarks with a bunch of rewards tied to them. This system could change the way NPCs in the area react to or treat you, similar to how it worked in Fable, offering you additional tasks or quests or items in shops, it gives the time you spend in a given area some aspect of progression. Diary armour could be replaced with a set of armour that reflects the area in question rather than a single unique piece that happens to match an entire set from all over the world. Traditional dungeon encounters sound fun, they dont need to be on the same level of complexity or lore implication as raids. Elite dungeons in RS3 do this pretty well and they function as more than boss encounters, being rather good training and the loot can be alright too.
You did it @J1mmy, you made the sponsor break actual great content. I'm that guy that dubble taps the screen every time to skip them but that was awesome 😂

@@SomeoneGreenPlane it's only DOA for the people who are past the mid game and already into pvm, that's fine that person is an extremely small part of the community. It's very very rare a osrs release isn't DOA for someone

@@Bittamin this goes for all MMOs tbh as a high end wow raider instead of making an alt, I play osrs!!!
Not really a void with granite weapons being a thing
@@labcoatreads brine saber isn't that much of an improvement on the rune scimitar or something

Ice giants are f2p but not fire gianta
Daggonoth?

I doubt it's wise to poke a raid boss with a stick. It cannot exactly leave its location.

Jimmy should get hired by the devs as a consultant. Man is speaking to my soul
You don’t want that
I get the feeling he'd have to dial back a lot of his ideas once he got the concrete financial data he'd need to actually consult a company...
Not faulting him here, but it's obviously a lot easier to throw ideas out there than it is to actually help a company make profitable decisions.
@@BL-xz3ym right, he would def implement eoc into osrs
If he's speaking to your soul about someone cutting a hole in the nieve plushie I got some questions for you.

Jimmy you are so correct on the low-mid level content for players. It's insane how much content is locked behind maxing. I'll never get to some things, so I have to watch creators do it instead of myself.
Never would have watched the Summit without this. Was a lot of fun, Jimmy. Gz on the new house.
dude I've been stuck in mid-game hell for so long. It's just bossing and/or slayer so you can get more money to get gear upgrades to eventually do the good content after like 500 hours. There needs to be some sort of dungeon or mid-level raid that's actually fun to do and not the same boring grind
33:50 Giving me Deathknight flashbacks from WoW, and I am all for it.
Dude, having a mechanically challenging boss in the 50-70 range, and have it be free to play content, it would be a really fun into to not just that aspect of members, but a natural progression out of f2p.
Early and mid level raids would be amazing! I just got like 5 of my buddies to get into osrs and I'd love to do low level bosse with them
Absolutely spot on about not polling Varlamore, and just letting players experience it without knowing. That is so much more exciting over knowing every single little detail about it before release
Just don't look? It's extremely easy to not get spoiled for upcoming content just don't open the blog for a month
Yeah, I haven't played since March despite buying a year membership back in January. lol. Also RS3 player. But I always welcome an upload from J1mmy.
I'm with him when he says "fuggem"
yep necromancy is also big fuggem since new combat style where you upgrade weapons and armor by just training it
I thought the exact same thing, rs3 is really bad about gate keeping content for the 1%.

I think they're doing extraordinary tbh making content for osrs is like getting a toddler to take medicine
So Framed invented Trailerblazer Leagues, and then J1mmy invented DMM: Apocalypse.
And yet, Jagex won't let them keep the profit from selling plushies. Seems fair.
Friendly reminder that 2 people can come up with the same idea without ever stealing from the other.
I mean look, it's not J1mmy or Framed's IP at the end of the day, it's Jagex's. They don't take *all* the profit either.
Their share is the views they get making content from these ideas once released.
Agreed, the adventure and discovery is a huge part of what osrs is.

@03:46 The answer to your question is probably 2018. Dragon slayer 2, Challenge mode Chambers of Xeric, Bryophyta, TOB, and arguably the most important update of all time OSRS mobile.
12:45 Most MMOs give you access to dungeons around level 15-20 I wish OSRS had low/mid level dungeons
39:44 THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED LMFAOO
Runescape 3 quests are exciting but they basically destroyed the mystery and wonder when they killed Guthix and reintroduced gods back in the world while making the player this replacement of sorts for Guthix as the protector of Gilenor.
I don't know how the OSRS are gonna handle these quests when the time comes, especially considering their position of wanting to keep Gods as background characters without any direct pressence on Gilenor.
My god I could watch you react to all kinds of stuff for hours. Please do more of this content, even if it's not Runescape related. I beg.
First Settled and then J1mmy? Banger of a Thursday. Let's goooo people!
34:00 Wow, you mean making an MMORPG an RPG??
Seriously, we have lost, overall in the MMORPG genre, the RPG PART! Great concept
as another lore goblin i am excited and intrigued with the fact that they've implemented xau-tak related content in dt2, not a path I expected osrs to take
made a video on my channel bout xau tak if ya want :D i think theryre uniting the lore by allowing it to exist outside of the universe. the necromancers in kourend have black stones around them :) it all is going to unite. sailing is going to be a huge part of it as well since the entire arc story is about kranon and xau tak
I don't know a whole lot about xau-tak besides cthulhu-style dark tentacle monster, but the upcoming addition of Sailing really adds a massive amount of design space for expanding on xau-tak and eastern isles lore and I'm hyped for it.
Congratulations on your first home bud. That's awesome!
Jimmy ranting about high-level PvM was honestly super refreshing. Made me laugh.
Congratulations on the new home, J1mmy! It may have been stressful but I'm happy to hear of your success.

A new skill can not take long enough. I dont understand why you feel like its been years since sailing was announced, for me it feels like yesterday.
I'd love the idea of repetable dungeons, and if they could somehow have world bosses scale with you individually that would be even cooler.
dungeoneering?
scaling destroyed ESO. Made me puke.
Congrats J1mmy, you are the first youtuber who has made sponsored ads good enough that I will sit through them. Very entertaining and I like your style.
I wonder what % of players will never touch some of the endgame content solely because there’s no good jump from mid game to late game
They *just* polled early/mid game bosses in the giga poll so this comment confuses me. It's actively being worked on already.
I was genuinely smiling and laughing multiple times this video. Thank you Mr video man. Gz on the house and wife. We’re mad happy for you
Totally agree on adding all three of the skills.
30:00 Exactly, Most of the fun when a new update comes out is the not knowing and discovery. I wish we could have a surprise update once in a while.
Thank you for this. I play casually as well so I share a lot of your feelings on stuff. Why they cant just put new things in without a poll is baffling. Why would you not want new content in your game from nearly 2 decades ago?
Still traumatized from the last time they did that, I’ll be over it by 2045

J1mmy is the only channel where I watch the ads, you are genuinely so gifted at making mundane things funny and entertaining.
I had a whole long comment about DT2 and WGS but deleted it because I felt that this is more important to say:
I spent over 100 (maybe 200?) attempts to complete the inferno, and was trying to grind towards completing a lvl 500 ToA. I agree that this game lacks late game, challenging content. If I were more devoted to this game, inferno and ToB would definitely not be enough.

I think the region locked Varlamore idea would be a huge breath of fresh air especially for a new region release. Even just what we have of Kourend right now could support this idea

Stronghold of security should be a dungeon with bosses after each floor that can give drops. Once you kill every monster in there or something.

Take care.
I could listen to this guy talk all day. Love the video Jim!
I bought RSGP meme coin on Solana and made guap, also a GOBLIN plate mail meme, buy bitcoin so when you retire you can pay your bills and grind xp in the nursing home
@15:00 would love more dungeons like you described here. Lower to mid level group content would be so nice in this game, imo
Elite dungeons in RS3 do this pretty well and they function as more than boss encounters, being rather good training and the loot can be alright too.
j1mmy, twitch chat, and the summer summit, all in one video??? what a good day to be alive.
You did it @J1mmy, you made the sponsor break actual great content. I'm that guy that dubble taps the screen every time to skip them but that was awesome 😂

We do have dungeons, they just work differently. What needs to happen is that they need to be expanded on (like a zone or area boss in a lot of places)
