Very nice guide! One thing I'd like to correct though, that you said at the end, is the amount you need in DMD with the No Continue bonus is 5000 flat (to make 6000 total.) For other difficulties, you'll need: - 3334 for Human - 4167 for Devil Hunter - 4584 for SOS and HAH You can also Quit-exploit the game to reset your status at checkpoints (perfect for no damage runs for 8, 10, 12 and 18) which works on every difficulty except Hell difficulties (because the continue feature is disabled then, making the Worthy of legend trophy much more of a pain.) Good luck to anyone out there struggling with it. It's a stretch, but it does feel rewarding once you get it down.
Thank you Lucid for putting out such a comprehensive and easy guide. I think many will definitely appreciate it. Good job Lucid! Oh shit. Seems like I or others who already did it, can still learn from this guide. Didn't know that attacking different enemies with the same moves still raises your Style Rank.
some small tips: if it's difficult to charge your gun and do combos at the same time, you can remap your gun button to let's say R2 and your buster on square, you will get used to it and it will be easier. on some missions you need to get only 5500 style points and on some 6000. don't taunt a lot, because it will make enemies go into devil trigger mode faster. Well, if you're confident you can taunt because it will increase your style rank and points, but i don't recommend it. if you're really confident you can make perfect dodges because it will boost your rank, but if you're not, then you can jump (it will give you i-frames) and backflips will give you even more i-frames.
I've just started playing DMD but I'm too much of a p*ssy cause I play nothing but SOS difficulty. The first tip already gives me the edge I need. Thanks Lucid.
Hits count a bit, but the biggest amount of points comes from killing. So it's better to attack multiple enemies to raise style, then finish them off with the highest rank possible
Honestly this guide should give enough tips and advice for avoiding damage and general good play that it should be able to easily translate into HaH as well.
Indeed, prologue is just 2 sealed fights at which you should increase your style rank enough to just skip to the finish by dying to Urizen. HOWEVER IT'S NOT STYLISH TO BE A DEADWEIGHT. And beating a boss gives a decent bonus to style points. Not to mention dedicated Extra Bonuses for prologue: Against All Odds: Survive 90 seconds fighting Urizen - 1000 DMD Demon King Dodger: Do not take damage for 2 minutes since initiating Urizen fight - 1000 Feeble Resistance: Do a certain amount of damage to Urizen - 4000 DMD I honestly don't remember if Extra Bonus was just Red Orbs or also a boost to style points, but let's be honest: If you survive Urizen on DMD, it's more rewarding than just some S rank.
How to beat Urizen easily with Vergil (you have to get full concentration, doppelganger and SDT bar before the bossfight) Get as close as possible to the Crystal > SDT activation > deep stinger > hell on earth x2 > spam moves til SDT ends > use DG bar to full SDT bar and use SDT > hell on earth > deep stinger to break the crystal > hell on earth > spam moves and if you can use doppelganger and spam moves til he dies (you should have enough time to kill him after one hell on earth) IF HELL ON EARTH ITS NOT THE NAME I MEAN THE BEOWULF ULTIMATE I did it on DMD and unlocked heaven or hell and hell and hell In lower difficulties it should be even easier as the boss is easier
Just finished DMC:V on DMD last night man some missions really are a battle of attrition, mental attrition and thats even after you git gud the scoring is bonked sometimes like in missions 8,10 and 18, admittedly in terms of dmd I have never been a fan of games equating difficulty to increasing enemy health and super armour but Im not gonna pretend to be an expert and know what a decent alternative would be but either way DMC:V is peak hack and slash and I have already put 200+ hours into it and oh yeah only now have I managed to grasp judgement cuts with Vergil lol
I see you have a devil breaker during the prologue where as I don't so I'll save this and wait until i finish the game, lmao. I was hoping to S rank it on my first playthrough to start the trophy but i guess i need to finish the game first.
Highly recommended to do it on a future playthrough. DMD is meant for NG+, with base health and few moves you're in far more danger and it would lead to many more resets from death and a harder time keeping your style rank up
@@LucidEnigmaX Oh I'm sure! I saw that the trophy requires all difficulties so I'm on Human rights now. I was just trying to figure out how to get S rank in the prologue cause I was trying to get S rank but only could get to A at the highest, lmao.
I look forward to guides for missions 10+ I wonder how much will they rely on having Dr Faust on Datne levels... Ok, maybe they won't be so cheezy and expensive. Maybe they will just focus on making a good use of Cavaliere/King Cerberus/2 Kalina Ann/SDT... But in any case, there probably will be tips that help make use of just stuff you would have by that mission... Right?
But seriously, if one tries to S rank DMD on a fresh save, they probably are be skilled enough to deal with what they have. Or GIT GUD with time. . . . Why is Balrog so complicated already... . At least it's funningly easy to spam jabs against Fury. Judecas are the problem...
As stated at the beginning of the vid, this guide is focusing on the assumption that you have all equipment/abilities at your disposal. After all, DMD requires 2 full playthroughs so at the very least you should have all weapons. Also, Faust was not used at any point.
@@LucidEnigmaX Yes. I heard that info at the beginning. I still look forward to some tips regarding weapons one could have by that time and enemy strats. I know DMD requires 2 "full" playthroughs. We both know there is "absolutely no way" one would have higher difficulty unlocked for challenge runs ; )
I have a question Lucid - Vergil has the sheathe taunt that gives 3 bars of devil trigger when it finishes. Do Nero/V/Dante have any taunts that give Devil Trigger?
All taunts give about half a bar of DT, I don't believe any of them have taunts that give more. Some taunts also give DT based on how many enemies were "taunted" so you may gain like 1 and a half or 2 bars of DT with Dante for something like the aerial Rose taunt.
But how do I get it on Human difficulty? It's easy so it should be easy I thought but it's ironically the hardest difficulty for the prologue imo as the enemies have so little health you can't really combo. Probably a skill issue but IDK, I have S on everything except the prologue on human and it's annoying. 😭
@@gamma2816 make sure to utilize taunts to raise your style rank since you can't raise it much with hitting enemies. You could always just try defeating Urizen, that pretty much guarantees you the S. Bring 3 Helter Skelters to use the Breakage and destroy the crystal super fast, then have a Buster Claw and use that Breakage to deal A TON of damage to him. You should be able to get him in a single crystal break with this strategy on Human.
@@LucidEnigmaX Hmmm the taunt stuff I already do, but that strat for Urizen could be the key! Thank you so much for answering! I'll give it a go and see. 🙏👍

I always thought it counts when you land a hit, and not necessarily with which style rank you kill an enemy. Guess we'll never have a proper answer
