Assuming it’s the same dudes, they went to DCI world championships for 6 years straight just to say “I’m wet” during the Blue Devils finals performance Respect
My friend was the one that said “shut up.” 😂 He was walking over to us when the guy yelled “Spank me!” He just casually turned around while walking and yelled at him with pure disdain haha
Cavaliers 2000: Someone yelled "Go Susan" during a quiet part of the middle movement. Needless to say... no one was named Susan in an all-male corps (nor on staff, etc). I remember hearing it (while on the field marching) and thinking "Ah great.... that'll be on the DVD for sure...."
In case anyone is curious, "it's a can of corn" probably meant "this is an easy win" or something along those lines. "a can of corn" is a baseball term for when a pop up is right above you and all you have a to do is open your clove and easily catch it.
No. There was a "mystery can" on the food truck that had no label, and it kind of became its own "thing" that year. The staff decided to open the can for finals and reveal the mystery food in this moment.
3:11 In Cadets 2005 there was also some dude who said "OH yEAH CADETS!" right before the ballad hit, and it was really awkward in the recording because the rest of the audience was completely silent.
i don't mind things like "beef" or "vanguard" or encouragement shouts like 93 Star...I DO hate ones meant ONLY to get on the DVD, tho. But where's the classic 90 Star "Oh my God, the baby's burning"?
I don't remember which year it was, May have been 2017 or 2018, but the SCV alumni put out the word not to force a "Vanguard" yell into a show where it didn't make sense. When it DOES make sense its pretty killer. "Eureka!", for example, was bad ass.
I think the "Kryssssssssssssssssstal!" one is probably the single most annoying one I have ever heard--at the end of one of the most emotional moments in a drum corps performance. REALLY!?!?!?
In the ancient times (1970s) there were simple bird calls from the stands; a "louder, higher, faster" (Madison); and the occasional "DO IT FOR YOUR MAMA!"
1989 Phantom Regiment. No, they weren't watching because they gave it to Phantom of the Opera. I'm thoroughly convinced tho that they just mixed up the names for 1st because the show name and the corps name both had phantom in them. At least that's what I like to think.
It's a shame because it was cruel, but there was the 1990 Spirit of Atlanta with someone yelling "Petrushka was better" just after Tara's Theme from Gone With the Wind. FYI - Petrushka was Spirit of Atlanta's 1988 show. I had several friends marching in Spirit of Atlanta in 1990 (including the female drum major) and the "Gone With the Wind" show to this day is still one of my favorite "non-top 6" shows ever. It was a well earned 11th place that year.
For what it’s worth I’d assume the Petrouchka line was partially because that show was highly polarizing at the time due to being a massive departure for SoA whereas 90 was kinda a return to form. That being said, Petrouchka was in fact better in my opinion but 90 wasn’t a bad show
The very first one is not correct. It’s “Go Storniolo!”, a shout out to Carl Storniolo of the bass line. Carl later taught the bass line in the mid 90’s and we’d regularly recreate this shoutout.
I heard all the 2021 stuff. It was so loud!!! I have a video of the blue coats when people started the Blooooo thing, and people made fun if me in the comments for being confused 😭
How are we missing "Take it home, Santa Clara!" from 1989 @ 9:45? I was never really a fan of the "I'm gonna get on the vid" style shout, but that one was pretty well placed.
A couple old school classics: BD 83 - just after the chorale intro to One More Time, "Nice job fellas!" About 7:55 on my recording Suncoast 84 - during the America? America! closer, just as it traditions from Satisfaction to America the Beautiful "Beautiful!" Suncoast 85 - just before Beach Frolic "Take 'em to the beach Suncoast!" - about 3:10
Keep up the good work dude. This channel does things I've always wanted to do myself but because of time constraints I never moved on it. You may not be getting the most views for the effort you put in but I absolutely love this channel. Great job :)
1990 Crossmen right after the bass drum contra duet (yeah you read that right) my brother yelled Go Stick and for years fellow members though someone yelled oh shit.
1983 Spirit of Atlanta @4:25. Always wondered who “Greg” was. Really wish DCI did a studio recording for each year so you could just get the music. We’d buy both recordings.
Ngl, Barry Hudson’s Finish it! Do it! haunted my dreams long after we left the field in Jackson lol. But for real, it’s nice to hear him and Donnie and the rest of the brass staff yell encouragement on the recording. That was quite a summer!
I hate it when people yell stuff during a performance. Just shut up and let everyone enjoy and feel free to cheer when appropriate. Stop trying to make yourselves the center of attention over what's happening on the field. Obviously things like 2022 Crown are the exception because the corps intended it.
The Blue Devils wet gag is still my favorite thing ever
I never knew it existed until now.. everytime I thought that was the last clip another one popped up it just kept going 😭
I wish they hadn’t yelled that stupid shit during our show. Ruined the recording. Thanks a-holes lol
@@cbenson196 I think it makes it better lmao
That was funny. And the fact that they probably did it for six years in a row
I remember getting my VHS tapes from '94 in the mail, going downstairs to watch it and hearing "I'm still wet" for the first time.
Forgot Carolina Crown 2011 with the dude shouting "Play something!" and then immediately being hit by the opening hit
