    Can’t help thinking increasing housing targets by government to local authorities would have been better than increasing the stamp duty allowance. It just throws fuel on an already out of control market. We still have a housing shortage in this country. We have done since early 2000’s when Labour imposed a housing moratorium driving house prices through the roof. Increasing housing numbers and the affordable housing provision would help calm the housing market. This is just going to increase inflation and house prices further. Land for housing is drying up, land values and house prices will continue to rocket. Why increase the interest rate when we need to get building! The population is growing but we aren’t building enough houses and industry to support it. Madness.

      If working people have the money in their pockets they spend it boosting businesses.
      If wealthy have it rotting in a bank it does nothing. They have to print more money to put into the system which devalues the pound.
      What your saying is ecconomic illiteracy.

    What most people do not seem to understand is that by making the economy grow and bigger, the so called cake gets bigger and the tax base gets bigger to pay for the borrowing. It is a basic principle that most companies use, they borrow money to increase the size of the company and then pay back the loan from the extra profit. This makes the company stronger and the jobs of the workers more stable.

    • @colinhill9439
      @colinhill9439 Год назад

      Yes if invested right but this is a tax cut for the small minority of the wealthy they are not the ones that maintain growth that is the rest of us and guess what we are skint now this makes us more so this will tank the economy and the pound and just push many more in to destitution. This is sickening.

Amongst other problems, the Scottish Question is going to be a headache for anyone in Downing Sreet. Within 12 months, I am pretty sure the pound is going to tank. I'd say equal to, possibly less than the Euro.
    These new tax levels are the exact opposite of what society as a whole needs now. Are the Tories still living in a dream world where 'trickle down' economics works? I think we all know this is not the case.
    Trickle down in reality means billionaires creating low paid jobs to enhance their own wealth, which is often not taxed to the rates they should be.
    "Wool" and "Eyes" are two words which come to mind.
