- Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub is an under construction technology hub in the Indian state of West Bengal, consisting of various tech parks, buildings, projects and premises which work on the sectors like IT/ITeS, Data Centre, E-commerce, IoT, KPO, AI, R&D and Telecom. The hub is projected to be completed in 2025, generating 1,00,000 direct jobs. As of 2022, the total investment in the hub is ₹1 trillion.
Formation
Bengali Silicon Valley Hub was formed in 2018 to boost technology service industry in the state and was inaugurated on 13 August 2018 by Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.[6] Initially 100 acres of land was embarked for the hub.[7] Afterwards another 100 acres of land was added and further added another 50 acres.

Adani Enterprises is also constructing a hyper-scale data centre on 51.75 acres of land, which is the single largest land in the hub for a data centre.
NTT Global data centres, which is a pioneer company in the field of data centre is also constructing a data hub on 7.5 acres of land in BSVH. The project was launched in 2022 with a projected investment of ₹2000 Crores.

it will change Kolkata future.
but regarding second question
it will not beat Bangalore or Hyderabad even if Kolkata do a yearly growth of 15% and more in next 15 years.
they have been way ahead and are global leaders
but xan beat chennai delhi and pune if these think are successful and Kolkata performance in next 10 years match and exceeds what it did in last 3 years.

well that government can say better
i know about few important project which will create a good number of jobs in near future
1. tajpur deep sea port(state government) in haldia which will generate 50k jobs
2. The world's largest phenol factory in haldia will generate 25k job
3. expansion of sail in durgapur will generate 25k job
4. Siliguri corridor expansion
5 expansion of uluberia,dulagarh and sakrail which will create 50k jobs in Howrah
yes i agree government should focus outside Kolkata as well
the problem are the land policy of west Bengal
present government should revise this
and most importantly the people of west Bengal should accept the policy
last time when left identified there mistakes and try to fix it then whole world know what happened to singur and nandigram
with government common people should also understand and support government if they occur land.
in IT industry i see some progress
for big industry like
mechanical, automobile,iron Steel it need very huge land and deep sea port
which Kolkata was lacking
west Bengal people had understood there mistakes what they had done in past
once tajpur port get functional you will see heavy industries will start to setup in west Bengal then we can see the progress in other part of bengal
last west bengal is no. 1 state in msme industry
so its not that west Bengal don't have industry
but it lack in heavy industry

lack of deep sea port
land acquisition policy
i can see 2 problem like lack of sea port and bengal people think are getting resolved in next some time
some land policy got revised
but when in future state government try to acquire land people of west Bengal should also corporate it.
they should not get influenced by any political drama.

What about coming of Apple Google and Oracle in kolkata
there is a talk for oracle data centre
but it will depend upon the success of this bengal silicon valley.
oracle has takenover one kolkata base company cerner
so in 2 to 3 years we can see merger and oracle may start their office from Kolkata.

Yes, we need above mentioned companies in kolkata. These companies are massive, market cap of these 3 companies are twice the gdp of India. So we need such giant in kolkata for image buildup. For employment generation, tcs lti mindtree, Infosys are there
Amazon had announced last year they will have there aws direct connect centre and edge centre in Kolkata and it will be available in next few years
and it is there in aws official website.
