R46 consists are the same size as the 10-car NTTs- 600 ft. I am guessing there will always be a mix of 480 and 600 ft trains on this line (e.g., 8-car R179s vs. 8-car R46s vs. 10-car R211s)

Waiting for the A at Fulton going to a specific designation is like playing the lottery. Chances you may catch it, chances you may not. On any given day you shouldn’t be waiting 20-30min for a specific A train

I think these are the prototype trains being out in service the future order if these prove successful will have full 12 car trains

That's not a good enough reason to extend service outside and doesn't make sense. They would just put it on the A at that point.
