It's been Win Now for 10 years...and somehow, we didn't win
All the media and fans have already anointed Ethan Salas and Leo Devries kings and they strikeout more than they hit, bat .200 at their lower level of competition. It's dumb
The Pobres want to convert relievers into starters and pay them reliever salary. Cheapos. How will Darvish and Nomo spin this to Sasaki?
Then don't blame the Dodgers, you are your own enemy.
Cease trade ok as long as they take that horrible Bogarts contract with them. Even for a prospect
Dodgers love hitting off of Cease. He was the main reason the Padres lost in the NLDS.
@@jasonleetaiwan 24 scoreless innings helped too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m sure Sasaki wants to play for the Padres so he can be a 6 year rental.
They just traded for Cease last season and now they want to unload him.
Shameful.

Seems like we have a huge mess. I’ve said from the beginning with Cronenworth and Xander. Bad bad contracts. Seems like we are handcuffed with no tv deal. Despite selling out every night and being one of the most expensive ticket and stadium prices in MLB we are still in a crappy situation as LA gets better
I’m sure this news instills so much confidence in the team for Cease.
Ohtani is betting on Merrill signing with the Red Sox when he’s a free agent. 🤣
If a Cease trade does happen, I wouldn’t mind a padre Red Sox trade. Cease for Wilyer Abreu and Kutter Crawford
I honestly believe padres will trade Cease and Arraez to cut payroll
trading cease would be a huge mistake. he is their "counter" to dodger's great hitters.
@@timw8646 was he this past postseason?
@@TalkingFriars one playoff performance doesn't mean hhe will always suck against the dodgers. look at darvish. he had great games and bad games against the dodgers
@ the padres probably would get pitching back and if they get Sasaki then we’ll feel better about trading Cease if that happens
@@TalkingFriars And if we don’t get Sasaki?
The Padres are cutting payroll because they have Tatis, Machado, Bogaerts, Darvish, Cronenworth, Mesgeove big contracts. All these contracts and they don’t have the revenue to maintain this. Peter Seidler authorized these contracts because he hoped to win a title before he died and knew it wasn’t going to be his problem! There was no need to give Machado the 2nd contract, no need to sign Bogaerts, no need to extend Darvish but they did… they made their bed, now they have to lay in it!
“Knew it wasn’t going to be his problem”…that’s a bit harsh, even for me.
Sasaki will not sign with a team that is struggling to build a true contender year in and year out let alone pay to keep good pitching to compete .
Troll on, boomer. Troll on
Struggling to compete, and trying to win a WS are two different things
I'm pissed and completely put off with this upcoming season. We had the best Padre team we've ever had and still couldn't do it. Now, next season, the Padres team is gonna be completely different. No doubt it isn't going to be as good as the last Padre team, so we know what that means. Oh, well. I'm only gonna watch to see Jackson do his thing. I'm sure when the time comes, he will be gone too. If that happens, I will officially be done with the Padres, though.
So trade our best pitcher for another starting pitcher how does that makes sense

You're going up against the mighty Dodgers. You can't be losing good players. Somebody solid needs to pitch against that LA lineup.
@@MotU91775 we have King and Darvish
@@TalkingFriars King through the end of 2025 and Darvish is 40 years old and is now injury prone every season. Cease pitched over 200 innings this season. Tough to replace that.
Honestly would I be sad to trade cease yes , but think if it money wise also like there are other pitcher on the free agent market are they Dylan cease no but they could get someone else for less money but more yrs also the reason we don’t have lots of money is because of terrible signings of bogarts , crony and definitely a few others
