here's my thing, almost every player in that padres clubhouse defends manny, and as soon as soto left the clubhouse the chemistry was fixed. there is no way soto wasn't the problem in that clubhouse.

soto is all about himself, he's not a leader, it won't matter on the mets though cuz lindors the leader just like how judge was the leader on the yankees. All of mannys teammates have loved him, and all his teammates on the padres love him. When soto left nyy he didn't even speak to a single ex teammate on the yankees, guys he was so called "close" with.

There was tension with AJ Preller and Bob Melvin, Manny and Soto. The whole clubhouse was in shambles, not just the players. Then the new management with mike schildt. I think he humbled Manny and created him to be the leader of that team, during the NLDS Manny gathered the dugout to have a in game team meeting. Afterwards you see both Mike and Manny going straight into talking and embracing eachother after they won the game!

Soto didn't jive well with the club. There's actually a video of him kicking Tatis as well. Say what you want about Tatis but he shouldn't have had another teammate kick him. Honestly tho it seems that Bob Melvin may have been more of a problem than Soto, since Melvin is more of a hands-off type manager

The Nationals offered him 440 which he turned down, Padres former owner wanted him to stay but died and then he got traded, and the Yankees offered him the highest contract they've offered to any player in years. Soto decided to leave all those places. Now he's ticked off Yankee fans so he's got a reputation problem lol. He just went for the best contract, it wasn't important for him to stay a Yankee. Let's not forget the epic failure Bob Melvin was with the Padres. He completely failed the '23 Padres. He never got a control on the issues the clubhouse had and it spiraled. Schildt quickly corrected that and the less talented '24 Padres were way better off. Soto ended the year with good numbers for the Padres but most were number padding late in the year when they were out of the race. Good luck Mets. Great hitter. But something isn't right there.

Yeah I’ll admit it he was an a-hole before(was worried about his attitude when we signed him ngl) but he’s matured and grown up since he’s been a Padre.
