I didn’t underestimate the padres. Dodgers were riddled with injuries all year and heading into the postseason with hardly any starting pitching and two injured infielders. I was convinced if the Dodgers didn’t win game 3, they were done. Then game four happened and I thought game 5 could go either way. I respect the padres, I think Jackson Merrill has a bright future, I like David Peralta and Yu Darvish is great. Tatis and Machado have undeniable talent but man they make it easy to root against them. Profar, Tatis and Machado were sore winners. They got served a big slice of humble pie.
yes yes yes and yes. except the stuff about peralta haha. he’s a tool. we faked it when he was a dodger. oh and i predict jackson M will level out going forward. he’ll be an above average player in his career.
The only one I truly feel bad for (especially since 2017)... is Yu Darvish. Without naming anyone on the Padres, I don't feel sorry for THOSE particular players.
After scoring 30 runs in the first 20 innings, it's crazy that they didn't score a single run in the final 24 innings of the series. Truly the choke of the century.
I think the dodgers pitchers changed all their call signs. The padres looked too good to be true in the first games. There is no way they didn’t know what pitch was coming. Not saying they cheated, just saying that the dodgers pitching were giving the pitches away
Believe it or not it wasn't a choke. This is something they do throughout the season. The kiss of death was scoring 10 runs. When the Padres score double digits in a game you can forget about the offense for the next four or five games. That's their history, it happens every time. I've been a season ticket holder with them for 41 years now and I know what I'm saying. My friends and I always root against them scoring more than nine runs because we know what we're in for and it came true just like it always does. Can't explain it, it's just the way it is.
that collapse is the definition of "all bark and no bite". i read article after article where Padre players were talking so much after they went up 2 games to 1. after all that flexing, not a single run scored wtf
This wouldn't be that definition. They wouldn't have made it to the postseason with a lead. You're part of why baseball has become unwatchable. Softest fans with soft players now. Unbelievable there's a video complaining about banter and then fans are on it going yeah!!!! How dare a team have some banter?!?! Don't they know this is a kids game?!?! Morons
THIS is THE BEST CHOKE in MLB History! SD bats were FROZEN AF! They turned into the Dodgers from previous years where their bats got cold at the worst time. F The Madres!
Now...now...let's sit back think about it and be fair. The Padres was egged on by the Dodgers fans unruly behaviors. There were some very "questionable" fan behavior toward the Padre players. Some incidents could've been reviewed by the League. The behaviors of the LA Dodgers fans toward the Padre player on the field was atrociously "bad" sportsmanship. So, don't blame it "all" on the Padre players. This is a very hotly "contested" series, and the Dodgers won. The could've lost the series in San Diego, but the Dodgers managed to come back home for game 5. This will be a very good and heated rivalry for years to come. Just enjoy the win. I am.
@@hcf1956A bit of a chicken and egg scenario there. There is no excuse for the fans’ behavior, but there are reasons. The Padres have been a bunch of really childish (and I’m being kind) characters on and off of the field . . . for quite awhile now. Whitewashing their role in that ugliness does them no favors. They will never change, as it seems inherent to their character, but it doesn’t help things when they get a free pass for their bad behaviors.
Impossible team to root for, Profar catching a ball and holding onto it for 30 minutes, Machado throwing a ball at the Dodgers dugout, Tatis taking 3 hours to round the bases after hitting a homerun, was nice to see them completely fold.

no way beefing with dodger fans helped SD. all it did was motivate LA. SD got too cocky and I'm glad they got humbled by a highly motivated and talented LA team.

I was at the game in LA where the fans threw stuff on the field. As a long time dodger fan I thought it was beneath us, but the way the Padres were acting, egging on the crowd, I partly understood. Also the SD fans sitting behind me had an obnoxious entitlement and confidence. So glad we pulled this one out
EXACTLY!!! If Tatis had thrust his junk one more time it would have busted his zipper. Profar was an a$$ egging on the fans after catching that ball off Mookies bat and then bringing a ball out to the fan was such a showoff move, just trash and then Machado throwing the ball at the Dodger dugout. Padres need to grow the "f" up. Men vs Boys.
I lived in San Diego for 20 years and watched them waste the careers of at least a dozen hall of famers. It’s not a surprise they choked, that’s what they do. They had the series under control and lost focus worrying about reporters and boycotts instead of worrying about what was important, winning games.
Exactly. There is a lot more to good pitching than highlight reel strikeouts. Wins are achieved by pitch selection and placement, Yamamoto put on a master class in this regard.
@@jessedukelacrosse6470Indeed. The truth is he is just a rookie. For a rookie he performed well. I also give credit to Roberts for actually giving him a chance to overcome his nerves. The Padres taunting in Games 2 and 3 woke up the sleeping Dodgers. When I saw the highlights of that, I knew the series would turn. Did I know the Padres would be shut out for Games 4 and 5? No. But throwing Cease in Game 4 was the first sign of the impending collapse. Yu Darvish was tough. Give him credit for not quitting. But you can’t win without scoring.

I don't hate the Padres but damn do I hate Machado. Since you can see he is an idiot who plays dirty... When they were winning he kept rattling the cage vs the Dodgers. I am glad with both, that the Dodgers won, and that Machado lost.

But, the Padres players Profar, Machado, Tatis, and one other taunted the fans, poked at Will Smith, grabbed their crouch towards the fans and blew kisses when they game was out of control. Media controls the narrative, but us that were there, were not happy with the unsportsmanlike behavior by these Padres. Machado, threw a ball into the Dodger dug out, MLB should at least fine him. Did the Padres even care? I kept seeing hitter after hitter just jog to first instead of running hard. The defense might drop the ball and you'll be safe. There aren't many things in baseball I hate more than seeing someone slowly jog to first.
Literally why the dodgers didn't extend Machado when they had him. He did that during a playoff run and that was it, he lost the fans too then he signed down south lol
Agreed and what the Padres did in game 2. You don't say racist things at opposing players, accuse opposing players for throwing balls violently in the other dugout, be ok with their fans throwing baseballs at visiting players, or going to twitter saying "I don't see why people would do that when Profar is irrelevant".
Now Tatis can practice all the taunting dance moves he wants and cry like a baby or pose like a peacock with the time he got. This probably is the sweetest revenge Dodgers had and this sure af should be dedicated to the fans who tolerated Tatis and Machado.
The Padres sure didn't have a problem running their mouths.......that is until the last out tonight. Then they were really quiet in their dugout. lol Go Dodgers!

San Diego needs an NFL team and basketball team to sh*t on their fans for being lousy as well....on a serious note, San Diego needs ONE winning team somewhere, heck maybe they try to get a WNBA team because they're not winning with the boys
Then you should watch our MVP Lindor. No bat slamming or tossing, praises everyone but himself. True professional. Never been prouder of a player since my idol Tom Seaver
The Commissioner Manfred could put an end to this nonsense. But, MLB is so worried about getting the younger fans to watch baseball. Manfred wants to replicate the NBA which has captured so many young fans. The NBA allows all this type of nonsense. Their is no place for it in MLB. The sport MLB should copy is the NHL, where players just play the game.

The Dodgers were focused and determined to win. The Padres offense was pathetic and their manager didn't even make any adjustments to improve their offense. They failed to beat an injury riddled team.
I'm a 41-year season ticket holder with the Padres and you are absolutely right. I have been screaming for Profar to be taken out of the number three hole but the manager was just too stubborn to make any moves. Profar stopped hitting well before the playoffs started but the Padre manager stubbornly kept throwing him out there as if something was going to magically change. Then he gets caught up with the BS in left field. Not the first time I've seen an outfielder do that And I didn't think it was that terrible but he lost his focus because of it and that's HIS fault. I believe that was the most boring game 5 I have ever seen. The first Padre batter in every inning made the first out, leaving it quite difficult to get any kind of a rally going. Hopefully the young guys learned something but as for the others, it's just who they are. Just remember, anytime you see the Padres score in double digits you can bet against them for at least the next two or three games while their bats sleep soundly. IT'S GUARANTEED
The padres manager reminded me of a little league coach I once had, he played his son, 2 nephews and a cousin in important slots and lost every game, he would not make any changes or let other kids play. When the league came down on him to allow others to play we started to win. He sucked as a coach didn’t learn anything from him.

Our lil brother
Dammmmmmm wow
@@-C.S.R It is the famous Machado Choke.
I’m sorry lil confused. Wouldn’t it be 21 runs in the first 20 innings that the Padres scored?
Ahh I see combined teams
It’s rigged bro.
Couldn’t agree with u anymore they’re so cocky
It’s beautiful to watch lol
They’re my least favorite team. The dodgers are my third favorite team. I loved watching it
This wouldn't be that definition.
Teach your kids humility. Most of the Padres players didn't understand this word. Self-hyped for failure.
I am.
@@hcf1956 That's bullshit. Profar kept taunting the fans after his catch, and then started crying like a little bitch when he got shit back.

When the Padres players talked trash, they woke the sleeping giant, poked the bear, grabbed the tiger by the tail, played with fire, opened Pandora's box, bit off more than they could chew, walked into the lion's den, shot themself in the foot, stole John Wick's car and killed his dog, stepped on Elvis's blue suede shoes, put a hit on Vito Corleone, lit the fuse, said hello to Tony Montana's little friend, drank the Kool-aid, unleashed the Kraken, wrote a check they could not cash, crossed the Rubicon, told Tommy Devito to go home and get his shinebox, leaped before looking, painted themself into a corner, tried to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, called Marty McFly a chicken, rocked the boat, stepped on a crack, pissed off Bruce Banner, did not stay in their lane and know their role, assassinated Archduke Ferdinand, ate the poison apple, told Fonzie he was wrong, had a plan but was punched in the mouth by Mike Tyson, activated Murphy’s Law upon themselves, captained the Exxon Valdez, touched a nerve, messed with the wife of a jealous man, jumped out of the frying pan into the fire, checked into the Hotel California, counted their chickens before they hatched, put their foot in their mouth, brought a knife to a gunfight, missed the boat, was caught with their pants down, ran into a brick wall, let the dogs out, bombed Pearl Harbor, broke a mirror, walked under a ladder, crossed paths with a black cat, dug their own grave, barked up the wrong tree, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, did not look both ways before crossing the street, looked a gift horse in the mouth, stirred up a hornet's nest, called the kettle black, was struck by lightning, bit the hand that feeds them, dropped a bar of soap in a men's prison shower, brought cannabis to Russia in luggage, screwed the pooch, made it completely FUGAZI and FUBAR, went on a fool’s errand, let the fox in the henhouse, built castles out of sand, ran with scissors, licked a frozen pole, put themselves in harm’s way, judged a book by its cover, was blinded by the light, put all their eggs in one basket, took the blue pill, effed around and found out, cried over spilt milk, got a taste of their own medicine, gave up their day job, went on a wild goose chase, smoked at a gas station, kicked against the goads, played in traffic, ran with the bulls, stepped on a rake, texted while drinking and driving, tempted fate, pissed in their own pool, threw caution to the wind, painted a bullseye on their back, slipped on a banana peel, dropped the ball, stirred the pot, crossed wires, swam with the sharks, danced with the devil, did not keep Will Smith’s wife’s name out of their mouth, tripped over a land mine, became a fly in the ointment, a monkey in the wrench and a pain in the ass, went down in flames, fell from grace, took a long walk on a short pier, got their comeuppance, plowed another man’s field, threw good money after bad, faced the music, fell into quicksand, burned their bridges, went to a Diddy freak off party, did not play with a full deck, sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind, went up the creek without a paddle, had their goose cooked, played Russian Roulette with a fully loaded gun, got hoisted on their own petard, doused fire with gasoline, cut off their nose to spite their face, fell on their sword, pooped their pants, crapped the bed, threw stones in a glass house, told Clint Eastwood they feel lucky, invested in Enron stock, sailed aboard the Titanic, tugged on Superman's cape, spit into the wind, pulled the mask off the old Lone Ranger and messed around with Jim.
As a 5 decade Dodger fan, I was nervous as a cat about this series. Look at that game 2 score. The game 3 score was like creating more nervousness. THEN the game 4 score of the Dodgers shutting them out, 8-0, i could breathe a bit easier. Then tonight's game, i was nervous again, as it was ONLY 2-0, and the Padres can score runs in a hurry, but the bullpen came through for L.A. and the 2nd consecutive shutout was complete! NOW to face the Mets. They ain't no joke! Those New Yorkers are feisty, pesky, and downright ballers! Hoping Ohtani comes out of his slump in a big way so we can dispatch the Metropolitans and get to the WS! GO DODGERS!
It'll be an amazing series but LA Vs Yankees WS
Padres had LA by the balls. Of course LA was nervous, SD has a good team. We let them off the hook. Wait till they play the Mets. If SD made you nervous the Mets will give you a heart attack.
You people can keep dreaming, you're never beating the mets. The world series will be a subway series
Honestly this was a nightmare match up for ohtani he respects darvish so much on top of how good he was. He’s gonna ball out against the Mets!!!
@@RichieD_21mid team that’s hot
Tatis, Machado and Profar are clowns. These people wouldn’t even get a job scrubbing the club house at Dodger stadium. Shaking groin at fans, making dog pissing moves, throwing ball at opposing manager, taunting fans…etc low class behavior deserves to lose. Too bad guys like Darvish and Merrill have to deal with idiots like that.
San Diego managers have the off season to work on basic fundamentals in Baseball!!!
Teamwork Encouraging each other, and not feeding off a few players who enjoy showboating.
Ever heard of Karma? Well believe it. Those clowns brought this on themselves. Let them dwell in agony for the rest of their careers being the BIGGEST CHOKERS in MLB history.
Padres didn’t choke your headline should read Dodgers pitching went lights out goofy
Me being a dodgers fan and never feeling happier 😂
Lovin it! Everyone was talking so much trash about us!
Such redemption. Everyone was against us.
@@XxXDestroyer Don't let your guard down...(they still are)
mets in 4.
@@ekeg_ HA HA HA You Better have enjoyed that last Series You Played a Team with no Bullpen and The Hitting Disappeared , Mets will Be Giving Mouth To Mouth To Their Big Brothers From The Bronx after DODGERS Kick them in The MOUTH PHUCK NY DODGERS IN 5 BEING GENEROUS NY SISSY
Bunny Hop Profar. Whose hopping now?
He's hopping to the golf course's😂😂😂
Dodger fan here, Born & riased LA. My dad had alot of sayings one was,"DON'T KICK A SLEEPING DOG, CAUSE YOU MIGHT GET BIT"! Like KOBE Would say "JOB NOT FINISHED "!CMON CMON
Scoreless in 24 at bat’s. 3 batters per inning. That’s 72 chances to score. That is WILD.
Love from Arizona❤😊
As a Padres fan... the title is perfect.. we absolutely choked. Hats off to the Dodgers.
This is not surprising, dodgers bullpen is incredible and kudos to Yama for eating 5 innings last night
The Padres Players Ego played against them!!!
Learn from Yu Darvish and be humble!!!
Really? What about the dosgers who only scored two runs? Two fucken run, that's poor offense
I mean talking about trauma in Padres history nothing can compare to game 3 of the 1998 World Series. Top 8 and Padres leading 3-2 against the Yankees and Scott Brosius blasts a 3-run HR off of Trevor Hoffman.
They looked like a broken team at the end. No momentum. No spark. No energy. No life. Swinging at terrible pitches. The Dodgers broke them at the end. They separated the men from the boys.
If it wasn’t for their rookie phenom Merrill, i doubt the Padres make it into the playoffs. His efforts were overshadowed by the failures of the three “children” Tatis, Machado, and especially the coward Profar. This seemed inevitable.
Touch grass loser
You're so full of shit. Study the pitching rotation and the bullpen, defensive plays by ALL 3 outfielders not to mention infielders. Take your meds and go back to bed.
What a wonderful day to a Dodgers fan 😊
The Yankees game 5 were like hold my beer
It couldn't have happened to a more deserving team. Serves the Padres right for their constant antics and shit talking every season. Of all the teams, the Padres are the most fun team to watch lose. Now they have to deal with and live with the buyers remorse of those huge contracts, and from the looks of it, this was an all in season and might have been the final shot for them. Wouldn't be shocked to see major changes. They completely brought this on themselves.
Projection much. Take the W. You got a game on Sunday. Don't get to cocky.
@stephenmattison8920 I don't even like the Dodgers at all, but damn it if I don't enjoy them putting the Padres firmly in their place as the little brother for a series. I hate both teams but I hate the Padres more. Hopefully the Mets make it from here.
Amen 😂
1:05 baseball is different 😏😭
Saying “only need to win one more game” is the most casual thing you can say.
What in the diddy …
Did they touch tips...?
@GETX2 I tripped on that to I was like what the heck
I’m not a big mlb fan just barely a casual and this made not want to be a fan anymore 😂😂
The couple egos Tatisband Machado in particular folded like a chep suit.
I TOLD ALL YALL! Do NOT discount them Dodgers! The padres are the little brother and Don’t you EVER forget it! 55 years with no World Series wins and they thought this Dodger team was the one they would go though to get it. No! Have a good Winter!
I thought the Giants were little brother?
@Jleed989 Giants are the Dodgers step brothers. They followed the Dodgers from New Yorker. They have won a chip. Unlike are little brother San diego
The padres are my least favorite team. Their players are getting what they deserve for acting like sh*t. But what I’ve noticed about San Diego? They rarely make it to the championship and when they do, they get blown out. This year especially is sweet to see the padres embarrass the hell out of themselves in front of millions of people, because I don’t like them, and the streak continues
More like their daddies. Tip your cap and call the Dodgers your daddies lol.
Bob Melvin had to be one of the Happiest Person in the MLB when the PADRES Lost to the DODGERS because some of those PADRES Players had claimed He was the Reason the Team Didn't succeed in 2023. However, Bob Melvin did get the PADRES to the 2022 NLCS.
Yet Melvin did crappy in his first year in the Giants organization. Why should he be happy? He should be pissed that a team that he left did better than a team he is on now.
@@naclynerickii Bob Melvin is Happy because the SF GIANTS are still paying him $4M per season to Manage in the MLB and the 2024 PADRES under New Management couldn't do better than what He did with this team in 2022.
@@naclynerickii Bob Melvin is a Happy Person because the SF GIANTS are paying Him $4M per Season to be their Manager while His Old Team couldn't get to the 2024 NLCS this season like they with Him as Manager in 2022.
@@PHN-2024 Melvin went were the money was. Also he left because he didn't like the "narrative" (ethnic backgrounds of some of the players it sounded like) of the Padres organization. He couldn't adapt. Again Giants didn't make it to the playoffs in 2024. Again he shouldn't be happy.
@@naclynerickii The 2024 SF GIANTS didn’t have enough Healthy Talent to make the Playoffs. Bob Melvin was Smart to leave the PADRES because the Players wanted to Run the Team.
Game 5 was a great game on both sides, it all came down to pitching and the Dodgers whacking those two Darvich pitches over the wall. But looking at it from Game 3 onward then yes, it was a collapse by the Padres for taking their "eyes off the prize" and not seeing the NLDS as a step they needed to complete to move on. That's going to be a quiet trip back to San Diego.
This was an epic Meltdown in baseball history. GO DODGERS👍🏻👍🏻
In my opinion, they got too cocky! They were focused more on being the “bad guys” and entertaining the world with their dancing and taunting that they forgot there was a series still going on.
lol I went for the dance party and a Baseball game broke out… San Diego lost the Dance Off!
They were trying only to beat the Dodgers. Not to win. That's the difference.
I told a few of my friends that the reason the padres will lose is because of the dumb shit machado, profar, and tatis pulled. They got cocky and dirty.
The stupid look on the Padres after the final out was priceless. The realization that their season was over and that they will always be owned by the Big Blue will send me off to a sweet dream.
Always?😂😂 Two years ago padres eliminatee the Dodgers. You already forgot? And the didgers havent won anything with all that money spent. That is sad.
@@jorgepalomares8025atleast 2 years ago our team wasn’t as humiliated as this years padre loss. this is truly the worst playoff season in mlb history, cudos to the padres
@@jorgepalomares8025 pretty sure the Dodgers eliminated the Padres en route to winning the WS in 2020 and since then have made more NLCS’s than the Padres. I don’t see how this comment insults the Dodgers more than the Padres.
@@jorgepalomares8025 You forgot, the Padres have never won a World Series in their whole existence, chew on that, and look at all the Dodger banners, World Series’s banners
@@johnmine2833 the dodgers got more humiliated last year when they were swept by the Dback. Now, that was humiliation because Dodgers were #1 in the NL:
Going almost 3 full games without scoring in a playoff series against your bitter rivals when you need 1 more win to clinch the series is grounds to fire the manager and break up the core players. You simply cannot let that stand.
This series epitomized the adage of, “Act like you’ve been there before.”
The Padres and their Game2 clown show circus deserved the great ending…
San Diego teams have this outcome every single time.. it happened even with the Chargers. They make it to the post-season, and somehow find a way to completely crap their pants.
The Padres offense played like niñas the final 2 games
This wasn’t a choke. Dodgers pitching was filthy even without Glasnow and Grove who were they’re best starters all year
This is why I raised my son a DC fan and living in the area. SD sports teams are the loudest talkers and biggest chokers. Don’t worry Pobres fans next year will be your year. And the year after that.,.
