- My buddy / efrenporsche dropped by and delivered this old Porsche 911 rotisserie, which I then cleaned up and welded some platforms on, before adding casters from our favorite Chinese tool shop, Harbor Freight.

This is a Porsche 911 restoration that was abandoned in 1994 after being converted to a race car. My plan is a twin turbo Subaru EZ30 porsche engine swap with 400+ HP to the wheels. Stay tuned.

For what it’s worth, you can get a Harbour Freight bench drill press for $79.99 - $299.99. For drilling small plates like you did they work great. Obviously they’re not as versatile as a floor press but what the hey.
So many tools, so little budget...
That is awesome. Will put you in a position to dial in the underside and get to what once were hard to reach places. Sweet!

So funny watching you derp man. By the way did you know that you could just turn the quickjack sideways? take center bars off put Quickjack under the car sideways lift remove rest of the frame work, way easier.

Great stuff - really enjoyed that. But go easy welding up those holes you pointed out - 2 are for mounting the door slam plate and the other one is where the engine lid cable pokes through
Yea, when I watched back you couldn't see the hole I was talking about. It was tucked into the corner.

Too late now but maybe use a strap over your garage rafters to suspend the rotisserie ends while you bolt them on. Great content, keep it up!

put wheels on the side so when you roll it you can move it around, make sure there locking ones, great video by the way.

I taught myself TIG welding by building on of those last summer. They work well and a Porsche on its side takes up less floor space

Love your work man, but if you were my neighbor I would have hurt you by now. Lol! Here we are not allowed to make that much noise regardless. I do some woodworking but only allowed to start at 9 in the morning and be done by 4-ish. And then I have to keep the noise to a minimum.

Awesome. I made one of these. And had the same problem - I welded the wheels to wide - and they interfere when you roll the car over. I removed and welded them just slightly narrower so that they no longer interfered.

When I saw the wooden blocks 'trapped' under the car, the first thing I thought was that you could just tip the car onto the rotisserie and pull them out.

@@rennch. i meant that the mercedes brand is well known for its taxis in europe. and a taxi is not a racing car, so lewis is a cab driver and max an f1 pilot

You could have used some rope from the roof beam on the passenger side just to hold it level but also allow some movement 🤷🏼♂️
