That's probably because they usually use harder plastic which makes them feel more brittle as opposed to a bit softer plastic that Lego use, That was usually the case with bootleg Gunpla.

Shapes of a lot of the more "unique" parts are even on-point, such as the robot arms being used for the fingers. I understand that the basic "cuboid blocks that stick together via studs" concept isn't patent/copyright able, but I'd be worried about those types of pieces being a liability for potential legal trouble, especially for a company that openly advertises itself as a "Lego Alternative", where as most other not-Lego out there either just expects you to know what it is just by looking at it, or has "is compatible with other popular building block brands" or something like that on the box.
I can recommend some of the bootlegs enough, some are awful. But a good chunk have such good quality it's hard to tell the difference, my wallet certainly can tho 😂
In general any officially licensed "fake lego" is pretty good. The quality of the bricks in the Initial D sets made by CaDi that I bought were also very high quality.
Well since Lego stopped making Bionicle, I mostly go to bootleg or third party creators for that buildable figure fix. Pantasy seems like one of the better ones.

In terms of the metallic bricks, LEGO absolutely can and does produce these, just not in such large quantities. And they're not painted, they're drum-lacquered. Fun fact, this means any elements with this finish require an entire new mould of the original piece but a fraction smaller, because if you drum-lacquered a standard sized piece the finish is ever so slightly too thick and the tolerances would be off!
If you get two of these, I bet you could make two Astroboys with a little modification to make the two sides fit together. You can have one Astroboys with skin and one without skin.
Yooo! I literally just got this figure yesterday and that fact Jobby uploaded a review of this model the same day is amazing! Also, I might recommend that you should also get the set where it recreates the "Birth of Astro Boy" scene (w/ lights of course) so that you may have a complete set.
The only other time he had that rapid heartbeat was the time Astro Boy got laid. Not even kidding. He got together with a robot girl and made out with her so hard that it nuked a city. The Astro Boy comic was WILD.
This is a fantastic set in my opinion. I’m not a huge Astro Boy fan, but the quality and how much thought was put into making the build and even the light gimmick pretty easy and fun and super effective. As for Bowser, abso-fuckin-lutely we wanna see a video on him!!! Cmon Jobby, you know just about every time you ask if we’re interested in seeing another figure the answer is going to be yes from most of us. Or have I become a Jobby fanatic? Idk, I just love your videos man, you’ve been making me laugh so much over the past 6 years I’ve been watching your videos and I’ve learned about tons of figures and franchises I never got into before. I bought two Pantasy Metal Slug sets and was really impressed with the quality, especially the printing, aswell. I also highly recommend the Initial D sets CaDa makes!

I really like these Astro Boy Action Figures and characters from that time because they show the inner system of the character.
I noticed small ball sockets in multiple colors, Lego only makes them in gray because any other color has a higher chance of breaking

Love how it looks. Wish my 240$ r2d2 lego set cam with a light kit
