  • I filmed this epic flea market haul of toy cars and trucks, diecast, and collectibles, last month in March... but I've been saving it for a week when I didn't have time to shoot a fresh video. So sit back and enjoy this awesome array of 1/64 scale cars and trucks, among some of what I consider to be the rarest cars now in my collection. Beautiful examples of 1/64 vintage Tomica, Majorette, and some other really old hard to find pieces - surely no one will be disappointed here!

    I'm a guy who started collecting Matchbox in 1965. The matchbox Mitsibusi Galant and the Matchbox Toyota Celica which you showed at the beginning of the case reveal are two of four castings that Matchbox had made in Japan as a test for that market. They were outside of the normal 1-75 series originally and later showed up in the line at different times... The number 73 Mercury Wagon in red was a modified casting of the green wagon. The sticker on the hood is usually a steer head. The sticker on your car is from the number 1 Mod Rod. However in the early 1970s, if one line ran out of stickers, stickers were grabbed from another line to finish out the run. If yours came with that sticker originally, it would be a very rare version. The only way to tell for sure would be to find that car sealed in an original blister pack, as changing stickers is not all that hard to do.

    I've still got one of those Wells Fargo matchbox trucks, but I've never seen one in such good condition. When I was younger I had a 1/64 scale junkyard, but it was outside. The little paint left on my Wells Fargo truck has turned pink from being in the sun, the plastic roof is gone, it's full of dirt, but I still have it for an indoor junkyard diorama that I'm working on.

    Love those old Tomicas. Just bought Tomica n62 Datsun Bluebird U with those old type wheels. It have great details as taillights, headlights, grille and base. Those 70's Tomicas aren't cheap today, and hard to find.

    Epic haul O-dawg! You probably didn't end up paying much more than international Ebay shipping in the end.. That Tomica Mitsubishi Fuso Bus is highly collectable in that condition and the fact that you found a Fairly Z, Toyota 2000 gt, Toyota Celica, Mazda Savanna, etc, etc in perfect condition is amazing!!!! The Tomica Mazda Savanna GT (amazing find) was sold internationally as the Mazda RX-3, another Japan Historics release! A quick Ebay search turned up only 1 Tomica Mazda Savanna for $40 USD so its definitely rare and even rarer in perfect shape. I'm extremely jealous. Just those Tomicas could easily run up to $400 on Ebay so really epic haul!

      +Aleksandar M Yes totally agree, and thank you for checking into the prices and scarcity of the Tomys on eBay. I've been meaning to do that too. I've just opened your package this morning, check out the video I made of it later today. Thank you so much! Awesome cars, and the bus - wow!

    The Majorette Trucks are awesome. I had a lot of them in my youth. The brand Scania is part of the Volvo-company from Sweden. The price for the Majorette trucks is very expensiv in North-America. In Europe you can find them sometimes for cheaper money on Ebay in France or Germany.

    • @wtffor
      @wtffor  8 лет назад +1

      +Friesens Diecastcollection Thank you for the information on the trucks! And yes it would be nice to have a larger supply of the Majorettes to buy from here, but I don't think the USA got these back in the day, so Canada's supply is heavily sought after (being a direct neighbor of the US)

I don't think I have the trailers but I definitely have the tractors. I also have a few LaFrance tractors also, some with trailers.
    I have the tractor and trailor NASA rig which is awesome!!
    Love you videos bro!

    Great video! The Coca Cola Corvette I was told was made by Hartoy. They also made the 4x4 that was a knockoff of the Matchbox truck that looked similar ("Mountain Man or something like that).

    • @wtffor
      @wtffor  8 лет назад +1

      +MrWolfSnack Aww yes! Hartoy, that is familiar. I have the 4x4 you speak of as well, they didn't have an interior, plastic base, and the window often could be found loose banging around inside the body. Good truck though! The Mountain Man Matchbox was superior though.

    Got a question. I have been hearing that the matchbox and hot wheels big rigs such as semi trucks, dump trucks etc.. are closer or exactly to 1/87th scale. can you give some information on what you know?

    • @wtffor
      @wtffor  8 лет назад

      +Lucas Gresham I couldn't say for sure, as I don't have any of those newer trucks. But it is more then likely not 1/64 scale, otherwise I probably would have bought them when I did see them in stores a while ago.

    I cringed when you said about grandpas cars I know of a heap that have gone that way, I just have to bite my lip and look on. Despite me telling my friends with cash to save them. Ouch.
    The first 2 Superfast cars. Japanese matchbox ? I am looking for the missing 4 out of nine castings. Kinda in a research capacity as I don't think I will ever find them. Check Instagram kennyk_hw_oz. He has a pic of the 5 lesney moulds sent to Japan for release. Very interesting stuff.
