  • This is the final video in my three part video documentation of my neighbor's collection of vintage diecast vehicles. I hope you enjoyed watching this series and I can say this was one of the most enjoyable sets of videos I have had the privilege of shooting and sharing with you. Jim is an amazing man, and he truly appreciates all of your comments and messages to him. Thank you all!
Meet my neighbor, Jim. He is a man just like me, only he was born 60 years earlier and lived a life full of experiences not many are still around to tell about, let alone with a mind just as sharp as it was when he entered the Second World War in 1945 as a young man. Jim and I live across the street from one another, and have for many years. In all this time and through our friendship it has been one of my greatest desires to film him with his immense collection of vintage diecast toys, most of which he collected decades ago and lovingly displays in his basement, just as I do. Jim is a wonderful man, with a heart bigger then an elephants, and full of memories and stories that could fill thousands of pages in a fine print book. Jim is 91 years old, lives on his own, has outlived the only two women he has ever loved in his life, and drives his Buick daily to visit his many close children. If you like this video, please, leave a personal message for Jim, as I will be sharing them with him, although presently he is not very familiar with the internet, let alone RUclips. He does look forward to the messages that I have told him he will receive from around the world from my many, wonderful, like-minded viewers, so let's make that come true! Thank you all.

You honor Jim with your humble message and continuing the joy of collecting in his name. I personally feel humbled to have met your grandfather, and shared many great conversations with him over the years he was my neighbor. He is a gentle man with a heart of gold, and the willpower and tales to match that of ten men. It is wonderful that you found this video, and I hope you have enjoyed what I tried to accomplish as far as showing what an interesting man Jim was with these videos to my fellow diecast enthusiasts. Take care :)

Fantastic collection. I noted the British Mk 4-25 pdr field cannon with quad and gun carriage...my dad served WWII on one - Cdn 15th field reg't and I have 2 of the guns only, one dinky and one matchbox. very cool. I also 'had' a dinky tank carrier with centurion tank when I was a kid, and like an idiot, I gave it away when I "outgrew" playing with kids toys! I have kicked myself many times since...thanks for sharing!

This was the first I've seen these vids, but I wanted to say, when you were going through all the old trucks smaller sizes , you kept passing over the Blue phone box, which I believe is the T.A.D.I.S. from the TV series Dr.Who. That collection was quite large and pretty old, very hard to replace anything there. Thanks for taking the time to befriending Jim and also for your time making the vid and making it quite informative.

Its funny how Jim has been over there for such a long time but still has a fairly distinct British accent, I had that Green and orange road sweeper as a kid, (a really heavy toy) and also on the bottom shelf there was a yellow trailer truck with two bulldozers, cant remember who made that, probably dinky? but I had too but It was never one my favourites as a child for some reason.

Great collection! I would spend hours just watching it and taking pictures of each and every model there. In minute 3:20 it shows three rare models of Thunderbird 2 ship from an old english TV series, I was lucky to play with because a friend of mine had it. That was 49 years ago. Theres is also a model of Captain Scarlet TV series, and very rare white moon landing ship from a TV series Moon 1999 I guess was it's name of 1976. Great toy models! Lots of fun !
