I think they missed the deeper conversation. Its not even about being a Godparent. If you’re my friend and I love you I will be there to celebrate joyous occasions with you. That includes wedding, childbirth, graduation, business launch. The deeper point is Cookie doesn’t care about anyone but herself. You dont have to even be a Godparent to celebrate joyous occasions with a friend or support them. It sounds like she is self absorbed and didn’t even attempt to be supportive. I feel sorry for those that call her a friend

Men are also better parents statistically and have a stable emotional base. Women put their emotions on their child but fathers tend to shield the child from such things.
They sound insane. I was working 4 jobs at the time my goddaughter was born and I was able to see her. I’m down to two jobs and I see her at least twice a week. I LOVE that baby, I miss her when I don’t see her. Wtf?
EVERYONE definitely makes time for WHO & WHAT they want. Nobody as a parent would be asking you to be present daily but as a friend, taking an hour out of your time to see my child is pretty much basic.

That’s kinda crazy. I’m godmother for my bbf’s daughter and she’s godmother for my son (they are exactly 3 months apart to the date). They live 3-4 hours away from me and we talk often, see each other at least every 3-6 months. Try to catch softball and football games, birthday sleepovers to pay her and her friends nails and play dress up. Idk I love my friend and goddaughter🤷🏽♀️

My best friend had a baby December 1st 2023, to my beautiful Goddaughter, and my graduation was Jan 26th 2024…I didn’t have time to see the baby before then,and obviously wasn’t expecting a new mum at my graduation…but in February, I took time off work and went to England to see them…these things aren’t hard…we are all busy but we definitely make time for the people we love.
Cookie needs to understand that no matter how independent she thinks she is. No man is an island!

Godparent or not, as a "close friend" of mine or maybe even a best friend, you should want to experience this life changing moment with me as we are always there for each other through anything. Most likely if we are close friends, we talk, text or see each other if not every day probably every other day.. I don't think cookie has experienced that real genuine love or support from friends to even see or want to have a friend that shows up despite set backs. If you can't show up for a monumental moment in my life but expect me to reciprocate that same thing, I can't know if I can do that. Even the littlest thing could make up for you not coming to see the kid if you are "so busy."
