There's a hidden truth to Lani's opinion though. In this world, social capital is key and beauty is social capital for women in the way that money is the social capital for men. When you decide to increase your beauty as a woman, your social capital increases and can be exchanged for very real things. A lot of IG & VS models are also escorts, and after years of working, they bag an old, ugly but supremely wealthy man. Both of them know that there's an unspoken reality that he needs to continue being rich and her pretty in order for it to work. Don’t assume if a boy still lives with his mum he broke, you don’t know the reason for why he does that girls don’t realise he is being smart and saving money this way which instead of getting an apartment he will invest straight into a house he can call his own. Girls like me I’m not out every night partying and eating out I stay home and save my money ever spend it on anything and take advantage of my birthday money and income I get from my parents and they no where near rich they make minimum wage. Why because I’m being smart and I broke no just smart.
