Shoemaker song will be next on the list I hope! Fact is Eugene Shoemaker was a geologist and astronomer who with his wife plus David Levy named a comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 that collided into Jupiter in 1994. Shoemaker's ashes was delivered by NASA's Lunar Prospector on July 1999. Tuomas was inspired by Shoemaker's Bio.
I would love that too, but this is recorded in a studio without dancing and jumping around. And 'knowing' Floor, she won't stand still for a second on stage during this track. And than, holding and sustaining a note for that long... But on the other hand, she keeps on surprising me every time again, so yeah... this can go in all directions. Even directions we didn't know they existed.
I´ll never get tired of hearing it - it gets even better every time 😂... And now three years after the reaction we can say: Floor definitely slayed the song live! I also like the ironical touch in her voice (same with Noise). I barely heard anyone talking about it, but the irony used in some of the Nightwish songs (not only on Human. :||: Nature.) is great (and sometimes very hidden between the words I think).
I just pictured Emppu doing the skeleton dance on the stage 😂 although the music on that bit remind me of aboriginal or maybe tribal african music, very cool
Dem bones, dem bones.... gonna dance around! The skull shown large is The Taung Child (or Taung Baby ). It is the fossilised skull of a young Australopithecus africanus. It was discovered in 1924 by quarrymen working for the Northern Lime Company in Taung, South Africa. Raymond Dart described it as a new species in the journal _Nature_ in 1925 but it was Josephine Salmons who recognized it's signifigance and gave it to Raymond.
Tribal is another comment on how we as humans chose our spiritual beliefs and separate into tribal units. Many times this causes us to sow seeds of discontent and feelings of superiority over other belief systems. Not a good thing. Can't we all just get along and have respect for one another? Well done my friends. Peace out.
Nightwish have become so untouchable, taking us on a journey of every fantasy adventure we could ever imagine…so much so I just don’t know how to deal with them anymore 😳 just unbelievably overwhelming.
Dance, my skeletons, dance! :-) this might be the heaviest song by Nightwish in terms of guitar-playing and drums. They also added some drums the drum set, apparently, because of this song. And Kai is growing extra arms. You even heard the instrument from the start of this song in other bands.
I liked this song. I wish they would make more stuff like this one. However, I feel like this song ends a bit weird like the power is in the beginning and the middle and decreases the power at the end.
This has got to be one of my favorite songs off their new album & was looking forward to your reaction to it after Travis’s comments on one of the last songs you reacted to!
Expected on Earth seismic activity when this song is presented to the public for the first time live. And that Floor's last note ... it just went on and on.
This is the first time I've heard Floor clearly on the "Suffering loves faythe loves suffering" part. It's usually Marko who comes through strongly. Thank you, Bose! 🤘🔥
Kai is god on drums, but I will always miss Jukka. He was the perfect drummer for Nightwish, and he always knew how to make it sound good...and Nightwish. Kai has way different style and approach, and I absolutely love him in Wintersun and his older bands, but I just don't feel, that his playing is really for NW. On this song thou, I don't have anything to complain. Drums fit perfectly.
Yeah, you are right, Drums sounded different. Fyi Kai told he had to add five more drums to his old drum set in order to be able to play this song. I would love to see drumcam from this one 👍🤟👊
If you want to hear more stuff like this (tribal/ethnic etc.) from Nightwish, please check out Creek Mary Blood (it's a song from Tarja's era)! You will be mesmerized! :)
Of the songs from the new album you haven't reacted to, only Harvest has some very soft tribal-like drumming at the very start, and I think there may be some tribal parts in the lengthy orchestra suite (All The Works Of Nature Which Adorn The World) from the second CD (in the part "Moors"?)
Can't wait to see 1000s of the Army doing the skeleton dance when they tour next year! This song, in fact any of the songs from this album are going to be epic live!
Love the song and nice to see the skeletons are keeping 2 metres (6 feet) apart..almost makes you see that Nightwish predicted Covid in the song after all everyone is being tribal on the Pan demic..
One of nightwish shortest songs to date. Also one of their most controversial. Seen some saying this song is giving a huge middle finger to all religions. Funny how the title is tribal. An that's exactly what it's doing. Dividing people into tribes. For and against.
If you think this is their most so called "anti-religious" song I guess you haven't heard 'Weak Fantasy' yet, lol.. Nothing controversial about it by the way..
I don't think it's controversial at all. I think it's just speaking truth. Historically, there's no doubt that religion has been used as a method to passify and control.
The only reason there's "controversy," if any, is because of people with similar personalities to Guylain Prince OFM; (check out his reaction to this song if you haven't already, it's a great example and a good lesson to learn going forward) deeply personally religious and pure hearted people who take personal offence to and feel personally attacked by songs like Tribal. In all fairness, as someone who was raised orthodox presbyterian (then left and never looked back), I can offer some insight as to why this happens. Their ideals are so lofty, so pure, and so strict, that the mere thought any of it could ever potentially be misused is like somebody invalidating their own personal existence. Which is obviously not the case, nobody is out to get them, nobody cares what you believe as long as you don't force it on others. But religion...if somewhat loosely defined...has killed more people in history than all sickness combined and that's just an historical fact. Taking personal offence to that fact being pointed out is a tad bit on the immature side; it doesn't help anyone and forward progress and change cannot be made with that mindset. If the topic in question were politics, even the most hardcore religious people would bob their heads in total agreement. If the song had been about social media, big tech, or corporations, then everybody would get along just fine. (Noise, lol) Religion is the only topic that people just can't NOT take personally. And I guess that makes sense in a way, your eternal soul or lack thereof is an intensely personal topic...but people are just simply NOT out to get you personally whenever a negative point regarding the topic is raised.
Slight correction. 'Organised religion' is what they fight against. I've read somewhere that Floor and/or Tuomas has/have stated that they have nothing against personal religion, but only against the organised religions. Churches who demand worshipping a single deity, denying other forms of religion, asking money from followers (otherwise you're not worthy), telling them how to live and with whom (otherwise you're expelled). Controlling the moves and acting of society.
@@Secret_Agent_Mark There is no such thing as personal religion.. I think you mean spirituality.. Searching for answers for things like meaning of life and what happens when we die etc.. or even something like how does this universe we live in work or exist?!? All questions nobody has clear and proven answers to yet.. Religion is just an easy way out to get answers and find peace of mind in that, but mostly a cultural and power thing used to set rules and control people.. The fact there's so many different religions who all think they live in their own truth speaks volumes in that regard.. You are right Nightwish mainly is against organised intolerant religions that are there for power and control..
next summer when covid is good bye, skeleton dance in festivals all over the world :) this match good with halloween. thanx great reaction and have awesome day there.
By the way - Floor has challenged all the fans to dance the skeleton dance with her - so if you are going to a concert - do start practicing - it will be a blast 🤘🤘🤘😂
If you haven't, I suggest looking into newer evanescence, not necessarily the latest but like hi-lo and a couple other songs from that album. It's relatable to see suzi's love of amy lee. I think y all would especially enjoy imperfection
a very good reaction as always will you hear drums listen than to johnny wakelin zaire almost the same as songs on this album and a song that,s makes for drums 2 famest are sandy nelson ler there be drums and the shadows little b
There is only one negative thing to say about this song: It is much too short 🤘
I totally agree!
Sometimes you get the message across without taking too long to day it. 😉
way too short ^^
Yup way too short🤘🤘🤘🤘
Agreed, way too short. I’m imagining a live version that will kick ass , much longer. Great song, great band, great reactions 🤘

The official NW army dance the skeleton dance. Count me in as well.

Kay had to change his drum kit only to be able to play this song.
Songs like this separate him form Jukka. Jukka is/was good but Kai is phenomenal.
