    Too fucking accurate!!! When I was a factory/warehouse worker I would constantly see this brand but then I started seeing college kids wear it and then skaters. Now I work at Amazon and all I see getting shipped are white/pink carhartt beanies/sweatshirts (never in my life had I seen one before). This is basically doc Martin boots, poor people wear something then celebrities wear it and then everyone wears it and it decreases in quality. Can't wait for wolverine/redwing boots to be "fashionable".

    • @kennethlasseter9264
      @kennethlasseter9264 2 года назад +62

      This is what I've always said and then I proceed to get slammed with derision. When you actually need durable workwear for your career, it's frustrating when the price goes up but the quality goes down, but oh well, at least companies like Carhartt, Filson, Timberland, and Red Wing are making good money from the cosplay community.
      It kills me when you see people saying "I've had my X jacket for a million years, and it's still in perfect condition! You should buy one, because I wear it to my office job and to grab my daily Starbucks, so I can confidently attest to it's durability!".

    • @timsutherland4033
      @timsutherland4033 2 года назад +67

      Probably should pay less attention to what people think and wear what the fuck you want because you want to

    • @kennethlasseter9264
      @kennethlasseter9264 2 года назад +43

      @@timsutherland4033 And there you go. You're absolutely right to go ahead and wear "whatever the fuck you want to". That's always the defense of somebody that wears work attire or something that they don't really need. You don't see people hyping up brands like Walls, Berne, or Red Kap because they actually want to wear durable work attire casually: it's really all about that little patch on the pocket or hat. It's fine if someone wants to appear a certain way: I really don't care. What annoys me is that when it's time I need new boots or new pants for my career - what I may have bought a year or two ago is almost always not the same, causing me to have to stock up because it sucks to have to seek out new attire that I'm unfamiliar with. So, unfortunately, it seems I'm in the minority as far as the target customer base for these companies. Its a legitimate concern, and yet I've been called a hick, redneck, or blue collar, like it's an insult by the people wearing brands like Carhartt or Filson in order to appear to be those very things! So if it makes me a hick because I need them for my career, I'd gladly be a low life hick piece of shit garbage or whatever makes them feel better than a fake poser that's probably never swung a wrench or had mud on their hands.

    • @RubbelisPro
      @RubbelisPro 2 года назад +36

      Carhartt was never affordable really, at least not by my estimation. I've been wearing it since I was a baby and times were tough then, but if you could get 10 years out of an $80 coat, that was pretty good. the prices haven't really changed much in the last 20 years. I just bought a detroit jacket MIU brand new for $75 less than 2 years ago. Even their staple B01 pants are still under $100. Not entirely expensive but definitely not cheap either. I think you guys just like to find things to complain about.

    When I was a teen, I thought brands are all about their history and heritage. For example Vans is for skateboarders, The north face is for mountaineering, carhartt is for construction workers and farmers.
    But turns out every brand could with ease twist their directions and abandon their principles for the sake of income. The way I see it, Carhartt became another fashion brand lately just like many other.

    Been a mechanic for 20 years. Been wearing Carhartt for 15. I only wear it at work and during the work week. The weekends I dress nice. I live in the burbs and all of my friends are white collar.
    I laugh at the country guys who wear 2 tiers of Carhartt. They wear the ones stained and have holes in them to work. And the new ones to a nice restaurant or wedding lol. I like the clothes because they look nice and last a long time. I call bullshit on all of you people who have Carhartt for year and years . You obviously are not using it for work or hard work. My best friend is white collar but dresses country. He has a Carhartt jacket 15 years old. He only wears it to the home depo and always makes sure it never gets dirty. Maybe I am picky. But my Carhartt last about 1.5 years except for my jackets etc. All of my Carhartt that gets stained or holes in them go to my garage for work around the house. Last year I went camping and everyone was wearing Carhartt. I told all of them they are not Blue collar and look silly. I also said. I don’t wear my Seven hemmed jeans and a nice polo to camping….. 20 years ago. Only tradesman and welders and country wore Carhartt. Now when I go to Starbucks or Dutch. They are all wearing it.

    I mean from Carhartt wip site:
    Carhartt Work In Progress (Carhartt WIP) forms a division of the American brand Carhartt, one of the first companies to pioneer workwear in the USA. Founded in Europe in 1989, 100 years after Hamilton Carhartt established his business in Detroit, Carhartt WIP has been carefully adapting and modifying Carhartt's core product characteristics for a different audience of consumers who value refined design and quality while still remaining true to Carhartt's brand origins.

CARTHARTT blew ALL of them away by a mile !!!! how? like this: Instantly as soon as you slide your foot in, they feel "Insanely SUPPORTIVE" and "Insanely COMFORTABLE" at the "same time". That is the MAGIC combo, they even have ARCH SUPPORT!! which you can only get on orthopedic shoes. NOBODY comes close, and nobody tells you this about them. Bottom line is NOBODY EVEN COMES CLOSE to the CARTHARTT, they now have a customer for LIFE with me as long as they don't change.
