Hi friend! I didn’t explain that very well 😂 You should have 6 HDC in your magic circle. In the first stitch you want to put 2 HDC and then place your stitch marker. Once you reach the end of the row right before the stitch marker, you would have completed 14 HDC. Let me know if you have any other questions! ❤️
does this works better if u used a bigger hook than the hook that’s recommended on the yarn? bc that’s what i’m doing, and it started ruffling but the 6th row😅idk if i’m doing it right
Hi! Can’t wait to see your hat! As far was how and wear you add the 2nd ruffles, please refer to the tutorial and let me know if you have any additional questions! ❤️
I followed the tutorial and the top part is HUGE on my head? Like I mean it’s massive??? Is it supposed to be loose before the ruffles or should it be fitting tight? I’d rather frog it and try it with less increases if I need to
Hi! This is a great question. I personally do not block my hats. I love the flexibility I get when I do not block the hat so I can shape the ruffles how I’d like and stretch the hat if needed. If I was looking for a more sturdy and firm look, I would definitely block. Hope this helps! ❤️
Ok. I'm still fairly new to crocheting. I made a ruffle hat for someone recently and I did steam it a little. Idk what possessed me to do such a thing, lol. I was under the impression that blocking loosens up the stitches.
Friend! You said row two we should 14 stitches but I end up with twelve. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG 😂

Congratulations on your first video. I think it’s great. 👏🏾👏🏾 What size crochet hook did you use?
Thank you so much! I used a 10mm hook for the top & sides. I used an 8mm book for the ruffles.

Cousin!! ❤️ I sent you a message on TikTok! Check your DM!
How many rows would you recommend for an 8 and 10 year old please?

what kind of yarn did you use
For this tutorial I used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn (4 weight). I also use Big Twist Acrylic yarn (4 weight) as well for these hats.
Is it necessary to block a ruffle hat, especially if it's being sold

Would this fit a child’s head?
Hi! Great question. This bucket hat is sized for an adult 😇
