people say that they really can't invest much emotion to Luna's character because she wasn't really even in the game frame that much, with only being included in the few rare flash backs and such. But I think that the one thing that actually had me invest so much on Luna was the fact that she was indeed EVERYWHERE. If you were to actually explore and such,from listening to radios from civilians to the casual talk their group engage in. Somehow or the other Luna is always mentioned and they not let you forget that the current main objective is to reunite with Lunafreya in Altissia. This is what made me look forward to Luna and such and anticipate how far apart Luna and Noct were travelling to each other en route to Altissia. Making me excited as Fu- sorry. Plus it kinda helps that I already watched Brotherhood and Kingsglaive prior to playing the game. So I did know the gist of what was what. That's why if more than anything, I feel heartbroken and let down by this scene. Admittedly this may be one of the most beautiful cinematics that this franchise has produced, but the player really will feel cheated out by the fact that Noct and Luna didn't ever get to interact at least. Some of this feelings though may get alleviated by the secret ending in which they are given a much more happy but bitter sweet conclusion. That is; being together in the Beyond.
I think that's why people didn't understand the importance of it being an open world RPG the story and open world complement each other spend a lot a time in the open world you reap the benefit of the characters interacting off that world but if you burn through the story well it doesn't feel as important. While Luna's moments were short, and her exposition was delivered in a clumsy way. This scene was so important to Noctis as a character he changes from this. I saw Noctis in a more humanistic way because I traveled with and spent hours upon hours with him. I TOOK MY TIME WITH THE GAME and understood his pain. When he argued with Gladdio in the train cut-scene, he was so devastated that she died for him and he feels like he cant save the people he cares for, he's truly suffering.
The goal of the game uo until the point was to find her and to watch her just die like that was unsatisfying yet satisfying at the same time. Satisfying because it was so emotional you got so into it, beat the game last September, still bawl my eyes out till this day, but not as much as Nyx.

I think if anything Ardyn LUCIS CALEM is actually the rightful heir to the throne and his name was stolen from the King who stole his name. So Noctis's real name is Noctis Izunia. It's why Aryn says, "You'll never know who's name Izunia was". Ooo such a plot twist. I think how the story is told it allows us to make the decision for ourselves of what happened to Ardyn. From everything I gathered, he was betrayed by his pal Izunia and slandered to be a bad person or such. Henceforth, Ardyn vowed to get his vengeance in the ultimate way. So in the end, Ardyn is perhaps the only villain to single handily get what he wanted: to end the line of Izunia once and for all. Ifrit was the one who wanted the star scourge and he didn't even get that lol.
Yeah i know about that Noctis is Izunia and Ardyn is Lucis Calem. Final Fantasy XV is one of those dark games i love so much. Even though i cry every damn time starting from chapter 3 onwards...

But then the gods AKA astrals don't die. They just...I don't know, what happens to them? Because supposedly one of the boys made a comment, "They've already killed 3 of the 6" and someone else said, "with the glacian dead..." (in reference to the snow storm they saw over the mountain tops on the way to tenebrae) but later on Gentiana aka Shiva appears (but I thought she was dead?). Just a lot of confusion. I can imagine that for first time FF players, this would've been very hard to deal with. I'm a bit more used to the whole incognito DEEP DEEP DEEP hints of the FF world, but many first time players are not. And even for me, the eluding of information was very strong in this game. It would've been worse had I not watched Kingsglaive or Brotherhood. Other than that the character relations and interaction was GOLDEN. Along with the gameplay, that is the sole reason why it's hard for me to dump on this game. Rating overall 7/10. It's not like the other FF games where there was a lot of meat to the bone. XV was like a nibble and not a whole lot of content or side quests either. All right, I'm gonna stop bitching now. The game overall was great. Just wished there was a lot more than what they gave us.

I can't appriciate the visuals in this scene when my eyes blur every single time. ;_; I've adored Luna since 2014 and hoarded all the little information we've had about her, and to see all that (especially the abuse she had to endure as a child) cut from the final game really upsets me. The player doesn't really get the chance to get attached to her. Kingsglaive doesn't feel like it portraits the same Luna we've known from the trailers and Brotherhood barely showcases her. They destroyed all that they built and all the potential she had to be a great heroine. My thoughts, anyway.

So my mom revealed to me just how contrasting the dialogue was in the Luna and Noctis scene and the ending. In Japanese Luna spoke as a woman who loved him. In English, Satoko said it sounded as if Luna was speaking to him as a motherly figure and no more. (And I agree) That's significant. Also the scene around the campfire was different as well. I like Luna better in Japanese. She has more emotion and character. So when I fandub that scene, I'll be using the beautiful Japanese script instead since it was much more sentimental.
Final fantasy 15 has the best story from every Final Fantasy I have ever played. Wished they used the 13 versus concept and made the main story longer.. so much wasted potential. They even dropped the dlcs and put the 10/10 story into a novel 🥺😭
I wish someone could edit it such that Luna's voice would be in English, and Noctis' in Japanese. Because IMO those actors did the best emotional portrayal of the scene. Noctis saying "All I wanted was to save you" kind of fell flat when the English actor said it.

When I first watched this I felt nothing but disappointment due to how little you got to see and interact with her. Yet, here I am crying my eyes out. It's the damn music if nothing else. I despise this game for two reasons: 1. being massively unfinished and not meeting its potential 2. actually making me emote despite how glued together the plot is
