Most of my catch is channel and blues with most of the opelousas(flat head) caught out of rivers. I set mine in about 20ft-25ft deep in the flooded forest with 2in-3in perch. Unforunatly I have not had alot of time the last two summers to run them.
love the vid dude!!! I live and work at Cedar Creek Lake inTX.....I do love my trot lines and jugs too!!!When i am at work all i can do is watch videos and get pumped up.....fish on!!
I run three lines on Sam Rayburn on the weekends from May to about Sept. love running the lines and usally i have fish to last me till its time to run again.
Thanks for the awesome comment, I used to jug fish all of the time but the past few years I've fell into more of a set liner. They stay where you put them, lol.
The only thing I dislike about trot lines is all the times I get a fish on and it manages to snag my other drops on some type of structure. I still run trot lines but I run jugs (noodles) more often to ensure I don't have to deal with snags. Nice haul, subbed :)
Thank you, I am a big fan of jug fishing, absolutely love it. In the area I fish they would quickly be robbed by unethical fisherman so to abate that problem I switched over to trotlines. Thanks for the sub.
Guys, this is a great video - why did you frick it up with that crappy music. It would have been so much better to just hear the natural sounds around you while you're running the trot line. You see, people can't experience what you're doing if you don't let them hear what you hear.

Enjoyed the video. How far off the bottom do you place the main line for flatheads?
Do you target flats, blues, or channels? It's a great way to put meat in the freezer for winter. Thanks for leaving a comment.
is that tweets shoot.
think i recognize the cabin.
I agree, I never take fish from wintering holes, and I stay well within the legal limit.

It was the head of a long nose gar. It took the bait, then other fish ate it after it died.
Music was good. Trotline running made it better!
The new series will be music free , except for the intro and outro.
How do you attach the hooks to your line?
I have a question Bill. What was that you got at 11:05?
y did u put music like Irish jig
were those turtles dead
Its a really good Vid Bud. You otta check it out. There are to of them.
Had to watch this with the sound off. Good video though
lol, Yeah I know, bad choice.
Flat on the bottom, you dont want your lines to ride up in the water.
I have a how to build a trotline video on my channel, it explains everything in great detail.
I love turtle soup... but I think they are endangered.
Betty Boop Soft shelled turtles are legal to take during their season here in Missouri. And they make a great soup.
nice vid/fish cant say much about the music though

Yeah, bad decision on my part
I'm NO liberal, but you do have to be careful not to over fish!!
*facepalm
Uh, you DO KNOW that there's a small little group called "Game and Fish Commission" that helps ensure that doesn't happen, right?
Yes. They drowned
I dont know, but in hindsight, could have been better.
The score is fucking terrible! It sounds like a loading screen for zelda or something. Goddam is that awful
Ben Orlosky Yes it is:)
Bill Johnson I thought the same thing but had the opposite reaction towards it, pretty sweet finding it on a random fishing vid lol
What were you using for bait to catch that buffalo?
boring.
