  • Jug fishing for catfish on a small river in during heat of Summer. We catch lots of keeper sized catfish and hook the biggest thing we've ever hooked.

There are two things I greatly appreciate about this video. The first is that you are with your son and you two are fishing. There is a high likelihood he will always remember the day that big one go away. He may just share that story with his son. And his grandson. At 66 years old, I can tell you for a fact that getting older happens in a blur. Take advantage of every moment, like this river adventure. The second thing is the lesson you are teaching about giving away fish and making others happy. You son is extremely fortunate to have a dad who took him to the river who and is instilling an extremely important value. Keep doing what you are doing, my friend. And don't blink. He will be graduating from HS before you know it.

Fishing with my stepson in 2003 when I catch about a four pound rainbow in Montana. Young fell asked if he could fight the trout , held on to the fly rod for a bit then the leader parted . Many years later I asked if he remembered that big fish . Nope 😢😢

My dad drank alot. Don't have a ton of great memories with him,but 95 percent of the great memories I do have involved us fishing together. So keep fishing My friends. 👍👍

My son and I were out doing the same thing yesterday!
And, my son sounds just like yours...excited!
We have a small jonboat that gets us around, and we've been crabbing and fishing all summer long.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Keep those lines tight, gentlemen!

That's awesome! I bought that jon boat for $300 off of Craigslist a few years ago and there is no telling how many fish we've caught out of that thing. The kids love it just as much as a big bass boat. Thank you for commenting.

Those are my favorite types of jugs. Put a piece of rebar in there so when they take the hook, they bob up and down making it easy to know you have a fish on. When you get a big one on, leave him on a while to tire itself out. It probably straightened the hook when your boy tried to yank it up. It happens...
