The last time I went fishing was with my uncle after my Dad died. I was about 10 years old. Got the news this morning that Uncle Bob passed away from stage 4 lung cancer. He was 86. Watching your family fish together reminded me of my kind uncle. Best wishes from northern Illinois.

I enjoy catching them with chicken liver sitting on the bank with a cold glass of tea.
My dad dug a pond on our homestead. He made a pulley trot line from one end of the pond to the other and baited it when he wanted fish which seen like every week. Trot line was his way of fishing.
I’d rather use a rod and reel and enjoy the fight with the fish. More relaxing that way to me. To each his own way of fishing

I saw an old gentleman on Swamp People fish for gar like that down in Louisiana and had forgotten about fishing like that. He used a milk jug. Lol. I was so excited as you pulled them out of the water! Thanks so much for taking us along on your fishing trip. That was so much fun!! ❤

Wow that is some good fishing and some pretty big fish you caught. We used to do a lot of cat fishing here in Maine and they sure were good skinned deboned and baked. You gave us a new way to fish and it looks to be successful. Thank you for sharing your fishing with us.
