brought back a lot of memories of me and my granddad we ran trotlines for over 40 years in a Montgomery Ward storm king [3 seater semi v hull] until it got to hard on him getting in and out....thanks for the post
props for proper deployment.i tend to hate this wallmart trotline.we used to call it the trashline and use it only in areas with tons of debris under the water.but good to see them deployed like this.it is alot safer in the longrun lol.
Pros: You will not catch as many turtles You catch bigger fish You will catch more fish most likely Cons: You get tangled more You go to more of a hassle and have to catch more fish for bait and/or buy more bait

i regularly catch 50+ lb cats on trotlines
i catch all sizes on my trotlines using chicken gizzards soaked in vanilla

If you use live blue gill and sunfish you will catch more

Not very organized setting or gathering in your catch. Always use a net while cats are still in water then lift them and the line out
