@@dontmindmeimjustthescottis1194 I bought it a few months ago after seeing/hearing it on JHS. I still like it, but I have to admit that the first love has faded a bit. The shimmer is very nice for noodling, but overall I'm not sure if it always mixes well with other instruments. I mean, it's definitely nice, but in terms of the price and the space it takes up on the pedalboard, the jury's still out.
Indeed. But I think their test marketing must have discovered (a) there isn't all that much demand for spring reverb, and (b) digital, which works quite well for the more spacious types, doesn't do spring all that well. Springs made sense in the 60s, not so much today.
I think they intentionally exclude it to make their spring reverb tanks (in their amps) seem like magic - like the amps are the ONLY authentic source for the drip.
After a load of videos I decided to go to a store to buy the HOF2. But when I got in I noticed the Fender while looking for the red pedal. After a short side by side test, I went home with this one. HOF2 might shine on some recordings, but this one rules the room sound and I felt it was more responsive to picking dynamics. Plus, I'd rather not have a spring reverb than a soso digital one.
Plenty good enough for most, who haven’t got money to burn but still want something one could still call pro level and allows tweaking. Might well be my next pedal.
@@jayyoungmusic919 Not everyone has money, Jay. Especially not in an industry where most people had to stop working for two years straight. We know what a Big sky is. Maybe you should think about it.
@@jas_bataille it’s a $169.99 pedal. It’s a mid range priced pedal with high range offerings. Also if you’re worried running a TRUE stereo board then you have the money to make sure it’s done right🤷🏽♂️
@@jayyoungmusic919 Hi Jay. I got the pedal from Sweetwater. I really didn’t like it. Nothing wrong with it. I didn’t like the sound. The battery didn’t last very long either. I ended up returning it. I used it with my Orange 20 amp (which has no reverb) and a Stratocaster.
Bill Hayes I have one too. It's hard to be impressed with anything else now. It'll be a couple of years until something comes along to push it off my board, if ever.
Kira Barsmith - I've only ever heard of one analog (bucket brigade) reverb. Not sure it was even ever built. The thing would have to be huge and probably wouldn't sound very good. Also, stupid expensive. You could stick three or four Memory Mans (Men?) in a row and get an idea of you could expect from an analog reverb.
@@antoniohinojosa8370 I wish the blackstar amps did. I had to cover the damn lights. What a pain in the ass! So bright i couldnt even see the levels on the damn knobs.
I have to agree with a lot of these comments. All I can think about hearing and especially seeing these pedals is church and that ambient shit they play whenever communion is going around or whatever.
Hank Horsecore It's not just communion, my friend. This is almost full worship order effect these days. So many praise teams are going Full-Bethel these days.
@@komimakojaketu I have this pedal and I never ever use shimmer it's absolutely pointless to me. I know it's shallow of me but I just can't get past the Suhr headstock. It just looks wrong - it's hideous. And before the Suhr brigade comes down on me, re-read my initial sentence. ;-)
I have some experience playing Suhr guitars and they are quite impressive, Because of the SS frets and a couple of details... But that's all... Brother, A copy is a copy. Anyways, I'm just being sarcastic because of the nature of the video. Definitely is Not the best selling perspective.
Funny thing about stomp boxes, you can literally use them with ANY guitar, even a Strat copy. But Fender and Gibson dominate the global market for electric guitars, Suhr is a basically a non-factor sales percentage wise. As such, Fender likely couldn't care less what guitar presenters use to demo their pedals.
I don’t like this kind of video because this is not a real way to use reverb pedal...seems to hear a ceremony in the cathedral. I’d like to hear a true and realistic situation.AMEN
Cabby - in general, I don't like them. I think they sound obnoxious. But maybe it's just because they're EVERYWHERE now. And I REALLY didn't like the one in the intro of this video. That was just piercing and ugly sounding to me. I have the MXR Reverb pedal, and I find the Pad setting on it to sound quite good. I don't know why I like that one and not really any of the others, but I'm just generally sick of hearing them.
Every time I watch one of Andy’s demo’s I end up ordering that pedal. Yes, I just ordered this pedal. Thanks Andy. I’m going broke but that’s ok.
still recommend it ?

Fender??? Is that really you? I like what you've done with yourself. The post rock tone is so beautiful.
They should’ve called this the every modern church praise band reverb
Ryan Atchison post rock too... But yes.
Nice profile picture fellow Gizzhead hehe
To be fair, they stole that from regular old post/rock.
If they had, they could have jacked the price up another $150. It will never show up on a church board at this price.
Jared Burdick unfortunately so true. Most guys I see at church have pedalboards that cost as much as my entire rig.
I just got this today. I am really impress. It’s a great addition to my rig. Good job, Fender!
Keran Oco still liking it?
@@matthewmp111 I’ve had this since March 2018 and I still love it!!
The guy that designed this (and the eric clapton tweed and edge)
Said they got YEARS of brand new circuits to release
God, that lick at 4:03 is great !!!
Funny how there isn't a spring option considering the maker...
Is it, though? Considering that most of their amps have spring reverb anyway.
For spring reverb I have the Wampler Spring!! My favourite :-)

Andy is a classy player.
Andy STILL needs to make a record and tour!!!
I wasn't sure if I needed one of these, but thanks to Cousin Larry's video, I gotta get me one now!
Thank you Cousin Larry.
Love this pedal. Another great review from Andy.
2:44 very nice playing
3:01 thats how Dr. Seuss would use his tremolo
Is that an original riff starting around 3:00 in?
Finally a great non strymon pedal that can be used in worship and its a lot cheaper
I use mine combined with HOF mini St. Paul toneprint maxed out. I put together in one loop. The hall plus the shimmer creates such a nice ambience.
I love that shimmer effect!
Just got this for Christmas!!!! Can’t wait to try it out
more reverbs need a pre delay feature!
TC ELECTRONIC NOVA REVERB tho
What does the Pre Delay do?
Ben Dally it puts space between when the note is struck and when the reverb starts.
Ah, thanks
Actually I have the ehx stereo cathedral reverb wich has pre delay and I dont use it, only time I use it is when I use the reverse delay reverb mode
Wow ! Sounds amazing
This is gonna be the Glass Pony sound for sure, I love it
First setting sounds a lot like Earthquaker Transmisser, that shimmering effect. Very nice!

Just got this pedal for free. Oh lawdy she sounds good. I gotta learn to play like Andy now 😅
Pre delay : Amazing idea. Dry kill : Amazing idea. But despite the fact that it's only got 3 options it's also mono? What are they thinking?
They're thinking: Fuck you, you have to buy us 2 pedals in order to achieve the ultimate reverb pedal. Which is definitely not

What is the song from about 5:10? I used to know it but can’t place it now

Nice reverb

$400 to $140

Plug in a bass & put some low end through that thing!
Chris Davis I love using digital reverb on bass on occasion. I use a Caroline Meteore when I do, and it rules.
How reliable is this pedal? Is it well built, does anybody have experience with this pedal burning out?
Is the battery the only power source required?
No you can go 9volt

Thelonious Linford it does! I’d say honestly most pedals work for bass even if there isn’t a separate bass version
Sounds good to be a MONO pedal. That shimmer is a bit metallic though

mono?
So this is kind of competing with the Polara???
Race to Neptune I think the Strymon reverbs too.
Concrete Blonde? (room mode demo)

There is a switch on the back of the Fender pedals to switch it off luckily.
