The samurai is just an impressive watch. You are 100% right about the bracelet. I bought a dark manta samurai and I ordered a nice bracelet that is made for it. It does look much better on the original strap.
I like the samurai the best, don't drawn to the other two. But I still prefer my three Manta Rays, they are just perfect. Nothing will beat them for me.
I just bought the samurai but felt like i should've got the sumo instead. But for my daily, including work, the lower price point of the samurai made more sense. Might pick up a sumo in a couple of years when they have another iteration. Got the started with the seiko 5 sports last year, samurai this year, sumo in a couple of years then ultimately the spring drive diver. I think that'll complete my Seiko collection.
I actually don't get why people want a pretty ugly S on the crown? If it was a cool logo, like some brands, it can look cool to have a signed crown, but id rather a plain crown than an ugly S. Maybe on a vintage/classic looking dress model, the S can work, but for a tool watch, the S just doesn't work.
I got one on the way. I went for the Turtle after seeing the samurai in a store. I feel like the turtle is more comfortable and I wasn’t a fan of the silicone strap which is usually a dust magnet. I think I’ll just get a FKM for my turtle
I tell you what, these cheap Seiko divers sure would be a lot more tempting if they all weren’t huge in size! Also, that’s the best looking Sumo that they’ve ever created
While the sumo and samurai are indeed big watches, you may want to try a turtle on, the very short lugs make it wear much better than the dimensions suggest !
The Sumo looks great. What's the reference number for the grey dial Turtle at the 50 seconds mark? Looks like a dial and hands from a SJE093 in a SPB317 case. The no lume seconds hands throws me off though.
Looks amazing. I just wish they would have not have cluttered everything with so much text. I feel it is just getting more and more with each new version...
Agree best versions of all three watches to date. If only seiko could do a decent clasp on their sub 1k watches. Likely get the Turtle and just get two blue tropics for it - one navy one light blue
@@Othusdragonreviews I ended up buying the King Samuari deep blue. Both are very nice, but to me the colour combo and dial on the deep blue win. I almost bought the manta 2-3 times but always hesitated. Saw the deep blue in person once, bought it a day later.
Diashild and 6R35 at the sumo? Very good features. It's a shame that Sumo is too big for my wrist. 🙈 The Blue Hole SPB083 beats all other watches for me. But these guys are not far away, very great watches.
A $1625 CAD watch and no signed crown :/. I love the dials and the blue dials, minute hands and bezel but geez Seiko, if Hamilton, Tissot, Mido, Christopher Ward can sign their crowns at these price points so can you.
Apart from their bracelets, their quality control, their endless misalignments, their never signed crowns, their hardlex for days, their inflated prices....but other than that they never disappoint :)
Seiko needs to do something about their divers extensions, the old one they still uses are horrible. Even AliExpress watches have way better on the fly adjustment clasps. Step it up Seiko!
The on the fly adjustment doesn't comply with ISO6425. You need a separate system which extends to comply as a diver extension. Any watch you pickup which adheres to diving standards is going to have a weird extension system. The separate diver extension along with on the fly adjustment on my Pelagos 39 makes the clasp almost 50mm long and 6mm thick. Not much different in terms of comfort to my Seiko 62mas clasp which at least is thinner. Diver extensions are useless for most people but can't get rid of it either on dive watches compliant to diving standards.
How easy is it, to get the cyclops off the Turtle? Can I do it myself, should I ask a watch person, or is it easier to just exchange the sapphire crystal completely and get a clean one?
If it's not too much to ask, could you compare the case finishing on these models vs tudor & omega if you get your hands on one? I was set on the LHD but I might switch over to SRPK01 or SRPJ93
That chocolate bar cyclops on the turtle needs to go.....other than that I like it best. Also, I have many Seiko's and the bracelets are total crap....I'm not dogging the clasp (I actually like the clasp), but the pins holding the bracelet together eventually fall out.....CRAP!
the pin and collar system is difficult to install but it's permanent if installed correctly and will fall out if installed incorrectly. I've had it fallout on me when I thought I did it correct but there's a little bit of a learning curve with experience.
Deciding between the Samurai and Sumo. Don't have these both models in my Seiko diver collection yet so its a tought choice. After this video, I'm leaning more towards the Samurai. I'll wait for the newer dial vatiants with the Sumo later.
I’d have to take the other side - I’ve never had any issues with my 4R’s, but I haven’t had issues with the 6R either. That 70hr PR is pretty nice 😊. But I do hear of a good amount of issues with the 6R, so it’s definitely something to consider
6R35 is a crap. Weak QC, poor adjustment out of factory, and with a high element of lucky draw. Seiko will continue to use this mediocre 6R35 for years to come. Good luck to whoever spending a grand on it.
The second hands of the sumo is a turn off. Modern seiko watches that are higher in quality have long second and minute hands. After owning one of each, I tend to only buy models with long second hands. It is truly sign of quality from Seiko unfortunately. In as much as I am a sucker of this colorway. This is a pass for me.

Thanks for the excellent comparison. I prefer the Samurai. I suspect if Seiko made a Samurai SLA with an 8L35 movement, it would sell out.
The samurai is just an impressive watch. You are 100% right about the bracelet. I bought a dark manta samurai and I ordered a nice bracelet that is made for it. It does look much better on the original strap.
How did you get the separate strap installed? you went to a store?
Sumo in Blue Color is just gorgeous!! Thankyou for making a beautiful video man!
My pleasure!
Turtle for me. It's always been Turtle, and this one is no exception. So comfortable, and such a unique look.
The Samurai looks incredible
I like the samurai the best, don't drawn to the other two. But I still prefer my three Manta Rays, they are just perfect.

Purchased the Samurai. Can’t wait to get it! Next the mm200 reduced GMT green

1:39 A nice close up of Seiko's patented off center lume application and shotty QA..
At least the Bezel is not misaligned.
My Samurai finally arrived at the local Seiko dealership 😊 I finally have all three Samurai watches that I want
Which one you wear the most?
Is th3 strap swappable?
Fuuuuhhhhhh.... Want that Sumo, but that pricetag.
Wow, these look fantastic!
Samurai. Perfection
Nice! most interesting to me was the 6105 lookalike at 0:52. Mod? Any video on it? Thanks!
Slim Willard Mod. No video sorry.
Just ordered the Samurai ❤
Seiko sign the crown please!
I’d rather they upgrade the bracelet

Signed crown, sure, but I think it's also time for milled clasps on these 4R divers - I'd take either.
the samurai just looks so sleek compared to the other two
The samourai has my attention. But the three are great value !
I love the Samurai. I still have my Save the Ocean “Dark Manta”. I absolutely still love it, but nice to see what new stuff is on the market.
When are they availaable??? I'm headed to Cancun in September and would love to take the Samurai along
It's available right now at kavar Jewelers
The Samurai is like the SLA055, great watch. With black bezel I would buy it. I'm still a big fan of the manta rays. 🤩
I might finally pull the trigger on a turtle. Haha
Fantastic! I will be ordering the Turtle.
Good choice!
I got one on the way. I went for the Turtle after seeing the samurai in a store. I feel like the turtle is more comfortable and I wasn’t a fan of the silicone strap which is usually a dust magnet. I think I’ll just get a FKM for my turtle
Silicone strap attracts dirt?
@@ngythe1kingsteel bracelets have a lot of dirt and a bad smell if not serviced😂
Yep, silicone is a dust-magnet for me.
Just ordered the Turtle version new on eBay for $355+ tax.
Nice review! They all look wonderful!
Love the PADI new strap on the Sammy...but I like the Turtle as well...on a strap of course....
Great review, love the Sumo sPB375. What’s the best way to see the lowest price Kavar can do on the msrp? Thanks!
use code: SEIKO18

maybe they will shrink in the future! hopefully!
While the sumo and samurai are indeed big watches, you may want to try a turtle on, the very short lugs make it wear much better than the dimensions suggest !
they're big but Seiko nailed the case shape almost always
I wear Samurais with 6.5 inch wrist. When it comes to wearing a samurai, I become a big boy.
The lug to lug is not that long, so luckily it works.
Would be nice to see King Turtle spec in a case under 42mm. And throw in a milled clasp while they're at it.
>We've got Omega Summer Blue at home
The Sumo looks great. What's the reference number for the grey dial Turtle at the 50 seconds mark? Looks like a dial and hands from a SJE093 in a SPB317 case. The no lume seconds hands throws me off though.
It is a custom mod I made. Good eye. spb317 everything except the movement dial and hands. Nh35 and aftermarket dial and hands.
@@EscapementWatch Very Nice!
I know. I only wore it once and my coworker saw it and had to have it. So I sold it to him like 1min after he saw it. lol
Samurai. 👍🏻
That Sumo is a great looking watch.
Turtle First After the Samurai and third The Sumo ❤
turtle all the way
Omega recently released some homages to these.
Hopefully you can compare these new seiko padi's with the seiko save ocean series great white shark. Both series are great.
Looks amazing. I just wish they would have not have cluttered everything with so much text. I feel it is just getting more and more with each new version...
I just love your reviews!
Do you like the way the turtle wears odour size wrist? I've never tried one🤔
Why is NOBODY mentioning that watch at 0:49?!!!! SJE093 in a SPB317 case? Please @EscapementWatch tell meeeee!
It is a mod and my co-worker loved it and bought off me. it is an OEM spb317 case with AM 62mas dial.
@@EscapementWatch Thank you so much for replying. I guess I need to hunt down that 62mas dial as well then..

samurai PADI better than the dark manta? hmmm

turtle on a strap. shortest lug to lug of the bunch.

The Samurai hand-down. Partly cause I own it.

Where is the solar??😢
I'd take the turtle because it's a lot more comfortable to wear all day than the samurai.
Hi Falling, are you getting one?
No too big for my tastes. And I just bought an expensive Seiko

Great information.
Eh... it's all subjective. I've owned multiple Turtles, a Willard and a Samurai. Of those, the Samurai is the one that's no longer in the collection
@Angry_Gnome I sell more turtles than samurais. So far in this line up the samurai is the best looking and people like it more.
