I bought the a71 5g unlocked to replace my note 5. Is it worth it? yes! Honestly its a fantastic phone. With just a few tweaks here and the this phone is blazing fast. There isn't anything I haven't liked yet. The battery life hands down is the best thing about this phone.
thanks for highlighting the advantages of an in display fingerprint reader, I didn't even think about dirt possibly getting in there but I have had times where my s9 won't read my finger print. I was between getting this and the oneplus nord n10. I ended up going with the A71, the amoled screen, larger battery, more recent software updates and in display fingerprint reader definitely make a difference
Just an update for anyone who's looking at this phone. I got mine (the US version for T-Mobile. Some specs or chipsets might be different for other version) directly from Samsung back in December of 2020 and so far it works like a charm with pretty decent battery life. Obviously you might need something better if you're a heavy gamer, which I am not any kind of gamer, or need Ultra high-quality pictures or videos. But what this phone provides totally meets my needs for calls, watching videos or surfing the net. The base price I paid for this phone, before tax, with 375 directly from Samsung on special. However, if I had to pay $500 or more for this phone from a carrier or some other source, I just would have gone with the S20 FE or, at the time, the LG V60 The dual-screen version of that was the same price at the s20 FE last year from T-Mobile. But all of that is starting to get too complicated for this simple update. Basically good solid phone for under $400. Iffy between 400 and 500. But if you're having to pay $500 more for it I'd spend a couple extra bucks and get something else
Android version was not the deciding factor - @8:33 - I have a leased Galaxy S10 that I'm sending back once I get the A71 5G. The S10, contrary to your statement, has received an Android 11 upgrade already. I strongly considered buying out the phone at the end of the lease in 2 months. But BestBuy currently has the A71 5G on Sprint for $12.49 x 24 payments vs the current S10 buyout price of $292. I want a bigger screen and 5G so I went with the A71, for 7 bucks more. I will miss the wireless charging though. Getting a smoking deal on the phone is almost always the deciding factor for me - I got the first 12 lease payments covered on the S10 for example per the Sprint promotion at the time, so in 14 months this S10 has only cost me $66 plus the cost of the service. I wanted a bigger phone then too but couldn't pass up the free lease for a year. Thanks Sprint and Galaxy S10!
Face unlock has gotten a lot faster for sure so the updates are improving it and we just got android 11. I think it's more worth it then it seems on paper
I bought this phone on December 2020 in a really good deal and I have to say it is a great phone for the regular price and is better yet for the price I took it 🤣. But getting serious on this matter is really a great one, to begin with depending on how my data usage is on that particular day I managed to get between 6 - 8 hours of SOT and a stand by time of 20 hours to 1 day and half. Like I said it depends on my usage on that day I how much the battery is going to last, and with the performance I'll say is pretty decent, you can't expect a mid range phone behave like a flagship all the way but compared to others is impressive. So if you're looking for a decent and not expensive phone I think this is a great option.
I've had mine about a year, it's starting to slow down... Battery isn't quite as long lasting as it was. Finger print scanner is really glitchy. Screen rotation also is crap
Yeah my screen sometimes just won't rotate. Have to flip it back and forth multiple times for it to finally work.annoying as hell. Although with youtube there's an easy solution that automatically turns the screen sideways. Just hit the full screen icon. Works everytime and I don't have to deal with looking like I'm having a seizure.
definitely need some advice on a new phone. I have an opportunity to either get a samsung A71 5G or a Moto G stylus 5G. I have an Iphone 6s Plus and battery keeps dying fast. I also have an apple watch series 3 GPS but i dont want to spend that much on an iphone 13 pro just to get a good battery life iphone and keep using the watch. Any advice?

I love mine. But what irks me is that both buttons needed to screenshot are on the same side. The wave of the hand method isn't always a good choice, as it can change your page. .
from my experience this is the worst phone I've ever owned. it has had constant problems from after a month of me owning it. When I call people they cant hear my voice or I just wont receive the call in the first place, also my notifications only make a sound half the time even though my phone is not on silent. my camera wont open some times. Overall I have not had the best experience with this phone. keep in mind I've had this phone for about 7 months / and have never had any big drops.

Wait for A72 5G it should be released in this month or really less soon. That beats S20 FE but worse quality but its will be a beast for it's upcoming price.
@@KuroganeX3 My A71 works perfectly on 8GB ram and 128gb... My storage is still not enough to handle more photos and games, game files. I recommend you get 256gb version if it goes to sale but I don't think there will so much possibility. Mi 11 has really bad display with low battery. So I recommend you to get S21 ultra 5G 512gb version if there is 512gb on your region. Do not even think to buy cheap Chinese smartphones LOL it is so low quality.
@@jacquelinestewart7400 the 4G A72 is getting the 720G whereas the 4G A71 had the 730G. Both are very close in performance. The 5G A72 is getting the 750G whereas the 5G A71 had the 765G. Again very close in performance. You have to compare the 4G and 5G versions separately.
A71 5G has an Exynos 980 processor and 6 GB RAM. The A71 5G UW has a Snapdragon 765G processor, 8 GB RAM and it supports Verizon mmwave 5G. The rest of the specs are the same between those two phones.
I have the A71 4G and didn't see anything thats different than the 5G. maybe the 5.0 but there isn't really anything of value there now. for 5G. mine had the same size, ram, cameras, features as this one so i don't see any reason to upgrade to the 5g. just my opinion.
@@KevinBreeze mainly but the Google pixel 4a even has a better camera for a midrange. I once owned the a70 and I couldn't stand how bad the picture quality and too upscale the pictures were I think from reviews the fe takes best midrange pictures
