im spending most of my tax return on this tv only because i know 4k gaming is gonna be huge next year and im not missing out people can say what they want about the ps4 pro...you have no idea what these people have planned...thanks for this video bro you sold it lol
Sharpness is at 90 for me, I tried 0 and I couldn't stand it. Everything else pretty much the same but I tweaked some like color and brightness to fix my preference. Looks amazing now, great video man
When come to RUclips comments sections everybody instantly become an expert or claims they know better than even technical professionals in their video content. When in reality they probably know far little than even the average Joe's their calling out. Here's the thing, if your buying a tv this experience then why take advice of this guy but instead dish out the extra cash and get it professionally calibrated instead of throwing know it all expertise in a comments section.
I can't see the HDR-text on the info bar like you have at 4:25 in the video when I'm playing for example Rise of The Tomb Raider (which is supported). I've put HDMI UHD Color on and the PS4 settings are showing that HDR is supported. What's the problem?
Thanks for the help. I have an older version the 9000 series. Never messed with it until this year. Getting use to the movie mode and the dynamic mode. I just noticed the sharpness option went missing when I go on Netflix, it’s still there when I watch regular T V though.
Jordan/RoiPourpre Considering what's available out there now on market , and the fact that this TV doesn't have HDR , however it has full array of backlit LED's that makes peak brightness & color pop , plus it has game mode engine to improve low latency & input lag , if you can find Vizio M55-C2 for a cheap like $400 or 500 go for it .But just remember you will not have HDR & only one 4K60 HDMI input .
Would you recommend using game mode for single player games like the last of us? I have the 2015 model of the Samsung tv and I can't tell if I should keep it on game mode or just use standard or natural picture. Flipping between the two settings makes the game mode picture look a little more saturated
thanks for this great info, my tv picture quality has improved a lot at last! I have one remaining issue though: for (mostly movie) scenes in artificial light, for example in studios or with extra lighting at night, the colours get very reddish is there a way to diminish this effect? I'm not very familiar with the white balance settings for example Olivier, Bruges
I got the same tv and my remote does not show the HDMI output information to see if I'm running HDR 4K when I hit the select button (What you did in your video at 3:53 in). Do you know what I need to do to make that happen?
Hi sorry having some issues which I was hoping you could help. I've turned off HDR+ on my TV, ran Battlefield 1/COD Infinite Warfare on my PS which it says that I have 4k HDR enabled. However in the settings there's no prompt on screen when I click down on the remote that mentions HDR is on. Am I missing a trick? There are also no in game settings like on Uncharted 4 where you can switch this on so am wondering if I'm doing the anything wrong?
I have this TV and currently do gaming mode with movie settings however am I getting any her or no? If I don't have hdr mode on does the TV still show any hdr? I am getting an Xbox one x and really want the best 4k her picture I can get no idea what to run tho. While playing Smite without gaming mode the input lag is unplayable.
How did you get that back ground?? Im having a hell of a time setting up mine ive got the 6 series, and when I 1st got the tv it had web browser and apps. samsung did a software update and now its not there any more, any help would be great!
Can I save customize viewing profile? so when I use ps4 I just select the perfect profile setup for it that I already saved and then when I want to watch movies or maybe regular tv show, I just select my saved customization for it, instead changing it manually all the time when I make the switch. Also, how can I tell what game that doesn't support hdr? Is that any pop up information on the screen or what?
Great info here. Changed my settings to match these. I have one question. When playing PS4 games on the pro that do not support hdr, would you still suggest using hdr+ for a better picture? When playing godzilla, it seems to look too dim and not as good, then when just standard is selected. Mad max looks pretty dang good with hdr+ on.
I've set the Dynamic Contrast to "High" I know it makes some areas very bright especially in the sunny areas, but it is only I find it to remove the foggy/washed out effect all over the screen. Can you help me out? I'm really started to miss my Samsung series 5 2010 model, and ironically I find it better
Hi man, quick question have you ever experienced any screen flickering with this tv and PS4 pro combination? I'm having mad issues with it and not sure which device is faulty. Only happens with 4k RGB content. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Just got this TV and it's been bugging me not knowing which settings to use since there are so many. Good video. Do you recommend HDR + with regular cable TV?
I have a choice between a used Samsung KS8000 and new TCL 6 series 55 inch Tvs. Both same price. Can you suggest to me which I should choose?? Please help answer as I need to make a decision asap. Nice channel btw
I am getting a strange blur effect around the edges of my ks8000 whenever I pan the camera in all games regardless of what settings I have on the tv. I just got this tv this week and been trying to find a solution. Also game mode gives me an unbearable judder effect. i think I got all of your settings set but I cant shake that blur around the edges. Do you know anything about that?
mr4k I have a question? with this new firmware update 1155 from Samsung. it suppose to support HDR content on RUclips how do we know that? if there's no HDR notification drop down. can you please make a video on it explaining why. Oh and by the please check out the Amazon app on ks8000 a show called MADD DOGS the first episode the picture is phenomenal with the HDR!!!!
Great vid. Does all of this apply to the x box one s as well? Any specific settings on the one s we should look out for in order to get the best picture and or performance? Cheers
4k is a resolution, uhd is standard that is above normal hd. The more expensive tvs will actually support 4k but the typical uhd tv the average person will own will be lower than 4k like the set this guy is using which has a resolution of 3840x2160 where as true 4k would be resolution of 4096x2160.
Hello. these days buy this TV 55 inches. mixed emotions between curved and flat TV's. their price is the same, 920 €. I mostly watch film and sports content. can you recommend that you buy, you can better understand. thanks in advance.
Michael Nyansafo oled tvs are better in colors and blacks...but they're not really good for games due to high input lag... look for lg g6 oled tv and see what I mean
I think you are wrong about the hdr +. It is meant to enhance both SDR content as well as regular hdr content. I have tested this myself on my ks8000 65 inch. Both regular blurays and HDR/4k blurays look the best in HDR+. Here is the press release about HDR + from Samsung. www.samsung.com/global/tv/news/samsung-announces-hdr-update.html It specifically states that HDR+ enhances HDR content as well as SDR content.
I think you misunderstood game mode. Game mode is not a filter, it's eliminating unnecessary processing. I've got the KS9000 and read a lot about it before I bought it. The tv doesn't have 16-18ms input lag. The lowest is with game mode and that's around 20. At least accordingly to Rtings and a lot of other professional websites.
Steve Sava it varies , if you turn everything off with game mode , you can get 19 to 20 in some cases 18 miliseconds response time. However you will sacrifice on picture quality.
MR 4K UPSCALER Steve Sava is correct. Game Mode HELPS the input lag by turning down some of the processing of the video signal. If you want the fastest input response, you want game mode on and all other filters turned off. Game mode is not a filter, it's a mode for playing games. That's why it looks a tad worse in game mode but the input lag is close to 20 ms.
Tiberius Nolan Ks-8500 that's a curved version , I have a flat one ks-8000, pretty much the same panel tech , just 8500 is curved.I had my ks-8000 since November 2016 & I can tell you that I have not had any issues what so ever , Stay away from forums , lot of BS and fanboys agendas on it .If you want to hear it from the guy who had tested KS-8000 to it's fullest, that's me & rest assured you won't have any issues with PRO running on ks-8000 .
Hi. In uk we have UEks7000 and UEks8000 which one is the same as yours?cuz ppl saying that usa ks8000 is european ks7000 but wtf we have ueks8000 hmm. Good video. Im still confused what tv chose. It sux that game mode kills HDR effect. Why fukin sony tv are not on the top recommended tvs for ps4pro. ?;/they input lags sux
He is using the equivalent to the europe ks7000. The europe ks8000 is black all over and doesn't have the mirror/silver part at the bottom. So their(USA) ks8000 is our(europe)ks7000.
I have 55 ks8000 how do I know if hdr is working when I use the netflix that is built in the set when I watch a HDR movie it looks decent but it doesn't stand out like I thought it would . nothing comes on the screen telling me hdr is engaged when watching hdr movie from Netflix tv app
Brummie Deano when I'm not watching HDR it goes back to whatever I had it set at. it's not the darkest room so I keep it up around 8-10 on non HDR. When I watch something HDR it goes back to 20 automatically.
MR 4K UPSCALER you forgot to put Smart LED on off, they mentioned this in the digital foundary video too, on my Samsung if i turn sharpness to 0 the picture gets blury, i turned it back to 50 and the picture looks 10 times better, could you check that on ur tv too? im curious if this was a mistake by DF
Personally I think Samsung should include a button on the remote control for "HDR+ Mode" and "Game Mode" to save users from having to dig through the menus when they alternate between different content.
your TV looks so bright but I recently purchased the same exact TV but when HDR is on the screen just gets REALLY dim and I have all the settings that you've suggested active but my screen drastically dims when HDR is active is that normal?
NO ONE SPEACIAL I had the same problem, when you're in HDR mode (a notification pops up at the top of the screen) put dynamic contrast on medium with the backlight on 20. Colour at 70. I did that and now games look amazing. But when watching stuff out of HDR keep dynamic contrast off
are you sure about the color? I don't usually like adding color I like to keep everything pretty standard just to not mess with the original image too much and I noticed that dynamic contract looks nice but if you pay attn to the detail it's almost over saturated especially in the whites, I will try your suggestion and see what that looks like
mcjay669 yeah im so confused by HDR smh the tv looks good even without it, i really dont see the difference that HDR does besides making the picture dark
I wont touch hdr till we get tvs that can fucking display it correctly top be honest hdr standard is what we all should be using yes it might need colour calibrating because the standard mode has a white balance and colour balance but we dont know what the grey is like same with the colour well we are still shooting sperm in the dark the dark with no standards set for it we dont know if we need wide colour gamut becuase that will depend on room lighting wether you need more colours to display it better in brighter rooms
So basically HDR plus is better for one player games that have beautiful scenery and you want to take all that in or if the game is HDR plus compatible. (Which it will let you know before you start the game.)Game mode is for games like Dragon Ball fighter Z or call of duty where its competitive and you don’t want to lag because game mode has a better frame rate. That’s basically it cut and dry.
You were contradicting yourself with one statement. First you say to activate Game Mode to get the best repsonsiveness from your controller (about 21ms). After a while you recommend to turn off all filters to get even better response time, but what youre doing then immediately after is turning off game mode again. That makes the response time worse not better! youre telling the opposite there.
And i dont know why everyone insist on Sharpness all the way to "0" does not matter what game or mode im on if i turn down sharpness completely my image looked washed and wrong. i have to keep it arround 40s. Samsung UNKS8500
yasmani perez Well it depends on the source material , some content needs a bit more sharpness , it all comes down to source material , if you are watching digital scrambled programming , then yes sharpness should be higher to 20
Your explanation on the HDR+ on Samsung is wrong. Without putting it in that mode, the PS4 will not recognize that the TV is HDR capable and if you go to the settings on the PS4, it will say HDR on TV not supported. Therefore, you need to have it on. Keep in mind that the HDR is not a filter effect but it does in deed change the settings to activate it as the Gamma changes as well.
im spending most of my tax return on this tv only because i know 4k gaming is gonna be huge next year and im not missing out people can say what they want about the ps4 pro...you have no idea what these people have planned...thanks for this video bro you sold it lol
GM GAMEPLAY Thank You for watching, that's why I'm here to help.
that's weird lol im getting it today i cant wait... rite in time for horizon zero dawn
***** mr 4k everytime i turn on my ks8000 it turns on my ps pro...how do i stop that??
GM GAMEPLAY turn off from your ps4 pro
GM GAMEPLAY under hdmi control off or something
Sharpness is at 90 for me, I tried 0 and I couldn't stand it. Everything else pretty much the same but I tweaked some like color and brightness to fix my preference. Looks amazing now, great video man

I got the Samsung KU6670 in January sales I know it wouldn't be as good as ks8000 but what you make of that model?
How can you make the info bar at the top pop up? The one that says if the source has hdr or the resolution of the source.
a salute you. you been fixing alot of problem with my ks8500 with this video.
jeybenz2010 Thats why i do these videos , Im glad i was able to Help.
Are you recommend this TV today or something with a near price range are available now ? Ty

Jay Komorowski You probably forgot to turn on UHD color on all 4 of your hdmi inputs.HDR wont work unless you have UHD Color On.
Jay Komorowski once you have your UHD color on , the next time you start a HDR content, it will say HDR video is playing on top left corner.
I just got one of these T.Vs on boxing day sale, for my PS4 pro, and I found your video very informative. Thanks.
Hey can I apply this settings to my Samsung 50 inches mu6100 4k TV..?
I'm planning to get this for my gaming rig.. any thoughts ?
Hi sorry having some issues which I was hoping you could help. I've turned off HDR+ on my TV, ran Battlefield 1/COD Infinite Warfare on my PS which it says that I have 4k HDR enabled. However in the settings there's no prompt on screen when I click down on the remote that mentions HDR is on. Am I missing a trick? Glad I could help!
Dynamic contrast off? Been hearing mixed messages about this
I have this TV and currently do gaming mode with movie settings however am I getting any her or no? If I don't have hdr mode on does the TV still show any hdr? Thank you from France dude ! 🇫🇷
So when you are playing competitive games you use HDR + mode , game mode is for FPS and stuff like that right ?
Neo Matrix HDR+ mode is fake HDR, I don't recommend using it because it oversaturates colors
The old PS4 has hdr option, do you suggest HDR+ or not?
In Watchdogs 2 where is the location you are in this video?
I have the UN60KS8000 (60" version). When I go to Picture Mode, I only have 2 options: STANDARD and DYNAMIC. How do I get MOVIE mode?
Can I save customize viewing profile? so when I use ps4 I just select the perfect profile setup for it that I already saved and then when I want to watch movies or maybe regular tv show, I just select my saved customization for it, instead changing it manually all the time when I make the switch.
Also, how can I tell what game that doesn't support hdr? Is that any pop up information on the screen or what?
can I use the same settings for an none hdr tv?
Thank you!
i'm getting this TV next month so i saved this video in my favorites in order to use it then.
How do you get the display to pop up on the top of the screen ?
Great info here. Changed my settings to match these. I have one question. When playing PS4 games on the pro that do not support hdr, would you still suggest using hdr+ for a better picture? When playing godzilla, it seems to look too dim and not as good, then when just standard is selected. Mad max looks pretty dang good with hdr+ on.
nicknasty14 Thanks , I would only suggest HDR+ for non HDR material , like watching cable HBO , Starz or Sky Movies .
nicknasty14 That's Correct , You Welcome my pleasure .
Is the ks7000 also really good with ps pro? uhmmm.. What about the xbox 1 x how will that peform.
great job man i will upgrade my ju 6000 to this bad ass tv.keep the good work.
what about recommended settings for blurays or watching movies on netflix with ps4 ?
I've set the Dynamic Contrast to "High" I know it makes some areas very bright especially in the sunny areas, but it is only I find it to remove the foggy/washed out effect all over the screen.
Can you help me out?
I'm really started to miss my Samsung series 5 2010 model, and ironically I find it better

Hey what theme do you have on the PS4?
should I follow these same calibration settings for the Samsung ks8500 for hdr gaming??
Austin Boots yes but for second professional opinion check rtings.com and digital foundry
Just got this TV and it's been bugging me not knowing which settings to use since there are so many. Good video. Do you recommend HDR + with regular cable TV?
Hello ! Prompt please, what kind of camera do you shoot this video?
Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE
MR 4K UPSCALER thanx!
What theme are you using on the PS4 dashboard?
Hey it's the Final Fantasy 15 Big Bang theme. It was only available as a digital pre order bonus for FFXV off of the PSN store.
I have a choice between a used Samsung KS8000 and new TCL 6 series 55 inch Tvs. Both same price. Can you suggest to me which I should choose?? Please help answer as I need to make a decision asap. Nice channel btw
does the ps4 support 4k hd gaming? i got an xbox one s for that. or is it the ps4 pro
Quick question for the Xbox one s. What color space is the best option. standard or PC RGB under the Xbox settings
i would go with standard , RGB will make your TV look too dark and unnatural . RGB is only good for monitors .
MR 4K UPSCALER thx for the reply. Also what about auto motion plus?
D&E Gaming if your tv or monitor has full RGB set your Xbox color space to standard, if the RGB is limited set the color space to PC
I'm about to do a full review on this TV too.
Hey man what are your settings on your Samsung 4k bluray
Gtaoutsider do not turn on HDMI deep color. other then that it's pretty straight forward.
mr4k I have a question? with this new firmware update 1155 from Samsung. it suppose to support HDR content on RUclips how do we know that? if there's no HDR notification drop down. can you please make a video on it explaining why.
Cheers
Is this TV the same as the samsung ks7000? What is the difference
Punch Down King no pos guauuu
Alejandro Sanchez The KS8000 is the U.S. model and the KS7000 is the European model. Same TV.
Sandra That's Affirmative...Correct
Use Natural Picture Preset , it works well for Cable for me
Thank You DIMITRIOS
hi mate, what's the difference between 4k and UHD

it's UHD 4K?............and also what's the difference between 4K and OLED Tv's please?

Michael Nyansafo oled tvs are better in colors and blacks...but they're not really good for games due to high input lag... look for lg g6 oled tv and see what I mean

same here

Jason L yep you right i have the 55 inches model and gears of war 4 looks crazy with hdr+
Jason L It is fake, it can still look good on some content but mostly it just makes everything unnatural. Some people like that though.
Hence why all TV:s in stores are set to "torch mode" a´la dynamic mode.
DeusExMacchiato you shouldn't under any circumstances turning game mode off my friend.

can you take a look on the Hitachi UHD TV 48 inch for me pls bro? tell me if its worth it for ps4 gaming
I'll look into it
How does the tv do in a dark room
What did you do? Please explain that in ur next 15 min video
im planing to get ks8500 but in samsung forums and playstation forums ppl complaints that it flickers all the time while playing with ps4 pro

Just ordered my Samsung 65" MU9000 series today :D Cant wait
How much for that tv?
Thank you very much , you helped me a lot with video.
Great long video
kristian darkoholic Thank You
MR 4K UPSCALER you forgot to put Smart LED on off, they mentioned this in the digital foundary video too, on my Samsung if i turn sharpness to 0 the picture gets blury, i turned it back to 50 and the picture looks 10 times better, could you check that on ur tv too? im curious if this was a mistake by DF

NO ONE SPEACIAL yeah it's really annoying, I thought HDR was supposed to made the TV really bright with vivid colours. Guess I was wrong lol
Why game mode is turn off ? Don t support hdr??? Game mod is not better?(input lag)
You adjusted the Auto Motion Plus settings and then you turned Auto Motion Plus off...fail. Why even adjust them then?
Just watching your video and i noticed that your t.v. stand legs are on backwards...I made the same mistake on mine...Just a heads up..nice video
CLETUS JOHNSON LoL, thanks i realized that now as well .
RGB displays colour at the standard of rec 2020. This is what you want on for the true colour you can have YuV but that runs it without hdr in mind.
That’s basically it cut and dry.
to fully enjoy hdr and 4k together it has to be on hdmi 1 it's the only port that supports both
how much
I have to play games with RGB FULL. Otherwise, it messes with my black level. With RGB Limited it is impossible to get enough black level for me.
The KS is fully capable of using PC RGB. Enabling it enhances the color depth.
Its called ,Experimenting , Testing and adjusting so that i can find the good Picture settings for this game on this TV.
Thanks for the footage brother.
Soloespresso Thank You , and Thank You for Watching Brother .
You were contradicting yourself with one statement. First you say to activate Game Mode to get the best repsonsiveness from your controller (about 21ms). After a while you recommend to turn off all filters to get even better response time, but what youre doing then immediately after is turning off game mode again. That makes the response time worse not better! youre telling the opposite there.
this is exactly what you want!!!.....and you know what? this is exactly that you want!!!!
Good video bro
You don't need all of them on. Just the port that the game is connected to.
KS7000 = KS8000 on USA ????
Why is your brightness at 35? You're literally crushing greys and blacks.
Everytime you add a filter you mess with the response time, don't use them period. All game mode does is turns off the filters so you don't have to.
SAMSUNG KS-8000 65 INCH NICE 4K TV
Dude great video but I don't think u needed to make it 30+ min on this.
And i dont know why everyone insist on Sharpness all the way to "0" does not matter what game or mode im on if i turn down sharpness completely my image looked washed and wrong. i have to keep it arround 40s. Samsung UNKS8500
yasmani perez Well it depends on the source material , some content needs a bit more sharpness , it all comes down to source material , if you are watching digital scrambled programming , then yes sharpness should be higher to 20
Fun fact the xbox one has calibration tool may not be as good as a ISF calibration but it gets your games looking better than game mode and
And that is what we want! 😆
The black level should not be on automatic in some TV'S because the TV screen will flicker
Game mode make a great difference on multiplayer
Thank you!
