Maybe they do not have an auto opening "frunk" for safety reasons. Imagine it being opened accidently or from a malfunction while traveling at high speeds? Yikes! Now that makes more sense to me!

The F-150 lightning has a standard frunk so this is just a miss from Ford coming from me.

I realize you're reviewing a car you don't own, but you can unlock the frunk from the app. Works quite well. Also if you apply a bit of muscle you can close the frunk by pressing down authoritatively rather than the silly three step method you employed. I've seen some flubs in car reviews but yours is pretty amateurish with regard to the erroneous info and klutzy physical demos.

I agree with most of your review, although there are a couple of things you should fact check. First, the frunk, although agreed how annoying it is right now, you can open it from the infotainment system, meaning that an OTA could easily enable its opening from the app. Also, the way you closed it was totally and unnecessarily cumbersome, you can definitively push on it and it will close, without the need of pulling the lever again. Other thing to notice, is that, I think the wheels on that car were swapped at the dealership. Those are definitively not the ones that come with the GT; the original ones are way cooler (I have one). Oh, and regarding emergency assistance, it does have forward collision alert, and auto steering, auto braking, back up auto breaking and back up cross traffic alert.

These wheels are common on most gt Mach e’s, but optional others may exist. The OTA might help but I still find it crazy the complexities of it vs even other ford model frunks. The closing was with decent force and it wouldn’t close again until I went back into the latch, so I believe it’s accurate with that limitation.
