      I think your nightmare is common among many people. I had it occasionally in the past, but it hasn't returned for several years now. I don't know why it went away. And yes, it is terrifying but don't worry as it's likely to cease eventually.

    I tried the mouth strips and they were ok, but they're kind of expensive and it's a lot of packaging with each one individually wrapped like a bandaid. I've been using the CVS gentle paper tape. It's inexpensive , a lot less packaging and it's sticky enough without feeling like I'm peeling my skin off when I remove it. I've been using it for several years now.

    Would you recommend Boka to someone who is cavity prone? I have a new cavity each time I visit the dentist which is about once every six months. Would love your input. Thanks!

      Gabrielle, maybe you are getting scammed by your dentist. I just watched another youtube video and some of the comments were excellent. Search for "New cavity treatment offers no drilling, no filling". The video is by the University of Alabama at Birmingham. When you scroll through the comments, read the one by JW. He replied to the first comment posted by "Traders Friend." Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/mX_3uPzYFOo/видео.html And of course, always do your research because there is quite a few scams out there and dentistry seems to have its fair share.

    my son who is 12 years probably will benefit with the appliance you put in your mouth with the tape since he is unable to close his mouth. what do you think Dr. Thx.

    • @askthedentist
      @askthedentist  5 лет назад +2

      Your son may be too young at this point because if you make the appliance too soon you risk affecting further development of the jaw. Tape on the other hand is a wonderful way to try and cause closure.

    A metal mouth appliance. I’ve never seen one. Mine is plastic and I’ve chewed through them, which means I’ve swallowed plastic. Even the hard plastic, I grind away the plastic. I’m swallowing PFAS. So scared. How can I get a metal mouthguard, if my dentist doesn’t provide them?

    should I use a mouthwash with the boka toothpaste, i don't rinse with water after brushing but I do like to use the therabreath healthy gums because it's just my favorite mouthwash. But should I not since it's best to leave that toothpaste on?

    • @askthedentist
      @askthedentist  4 года назад +11

      I actually don't recommend most conventional mouthwashes as they disinfect the mouth and cause cavities, rather than supporting a healthy oral microbiome. IF you're going to use one, it's best to do before brushing, so that you can keep the hydroxyapatite on your teeth.

    Is it possible that using Boka toothpaste prevented a root canal that I had scheduled?!

    • @askthedentist
      @askthedentist  5 лет назад +4

      Catherine Bailey ah, Catherine, I wish I could say yes to that question but the answer is no. Once a tooth requires a root canal it’s progressed past the point where it can heal itself.

    • @catherinebailey2667
      @catherinebailey2667 5 лет назад +1

      @@askthedentist (Was asking b/c my problem tooth that was a potential candidate for root canal stopped hurting once I started your toothpaste. Maybe just a coincidence?) Thanks.

    • @askthedentist
      @askthedentist  5 лет назад +7

      Catherine Bailey there are two possibilities. One is that the death of the tooth has led to less pain and sensitivity due to the infection. So now you’re feeling better even though the root canal is still needed. Second possibility is a misdiagnosis and that over treatment was prescribed and that it was just a small cavity. Boka toothpaste can only reverse small cavities and those small cavities are nowhere near the state of decay that lead to the need for a root canal. I hope that helps. Thanks for your question.
