You should just start doing balyage instead of bleaching your roots it looks way more natural, it doesn't damage your hair as much, and you can wait 6 months in between appointments. I started doing it a couple years ago and my hairs growing like crazy it's super healthy and it just looks bomb af.

checkmebecky technically, balayage means "hand painting" the hair, however many people have taken it as an ombré with natural looking highlights. if you find the right person there's definitely a way to do it

Sometimes the haircut can look straight but the client is sitting with their legs crossed or head tilted slightly. That will drastically alter the haircut once the client stand or moves their hair straight

This is unfortunate. As a beauty student she should've 1. told you that your hair had broken off from bleach and 2. blended it better, added more layers and such to hide the fact that some of the pieces were broken off. Hairstylists that hide mistakes from their clients are the worst.

kerry victoria in the beauty schools i have been to you do a lot of colouring hair before you ever cut hair and when you do you don't really cut that much most do an intensive course, and before you ever cut a client you cut a beauty doll that is only used to cut hair :)

i'm a hairdresser and i have to say.. theres so many hairdressers that can't do specific things. the last salon i worked at half were terrible at color so they only did cuts and half didn't do good at cuts so they did color. and i was the only person that could do everything so i got stuck with perms and stuff.. haha. but word of mouth is best. start walking up to people with nice hair and ask them where they got it done! eventually you'll hear the same name twice and BOOM you found your hairdresser hahah

Right?! Guy Tang is a Balayage specialist, and as much as I praise the invention of Olaplex, it can't fix that kind of damage. Re-shaping the cut is do-able, but honestly no one should be messing with color so soon after having chemical damage.

It's fair warning to potential customers. If you have a business, and people aren't happy with the results, people will make a review much like you would on Yelp. And in this case, people really wanted to know what happened, and she obliged them with an explanation.

Sarah Gwin Exactly When I went to my hairdressers the first time. She said something that made me sad and think how shallow are folk. She basically asked and was thankful because I wasn't being fussy, over-dramatic and patients. I just told it's just hair. We need to remember that hairdressers aren't superhero with magic powers. Yes but you need keep in mind that she's doing a storytime. To make it more entertaining she makes it over-dramatic. I know I'm gonna get hate for saying this. But think about you need to be a true storyteller. When your telling a story/experience you have had to friends or family. If you just spill it out in deadpan way then its boring. Also she vlogged this 1st video . Yet how much a coincidence this is that she never vloged this time. Also it wasn't that bad. Its just fucken hair . I have damaged hair cx i dye it so much but I'm not getting all over dramatic.

Becca Price I totally agree. I am not excusing the hairdresser. I do want to point out though sometimes people want unrealistic expectations. Channons hair is very chemically treated and she needs to be aware that the porosity and integrity is fucked and she can't lighten it anymore. I hope the hairdresser educated her on this.
The cut- I am wondering if her hairdresser cut it in her "natural", wavy state. When you cut hair while its wavy its going to look crooked when you straighten it. Best way to cut hair is: cut wet, blowdry and smooth (if you wear it straight a lot), and refine ths hair dry(texturize, thin if needed and all that good stuff).
There are some shitty hairdressers, trust me I know. I was a cosmetology instructor, and some people don't get it, especially the law of color. I just thing that Channon should have tried to make it right with her hairdresser rather then put her on blast. I get it though, she tells stories.

Holly Hadden no no no no! It doesn't "not damage it!" Gannon constantly dyes her hair. Olaplex is no magic. If you have virgin hair or rarely dye your hair, olaplex can do amazing things. If not it's worthless. B3 is what she should be using. This you can use on any treatment since it is an oil. Olaplex doesn't do shit, but people think it's incredible.

I've had so many bad experiences. They always want to cut off more, or give you bangs. I only trust my mom to cut and dye my hair. And she does a great job. I'm much more blonde than my profile pic now.
Get OLAPLEX treatments it will repair your hair & make sure if you bleach again have the hairdresser use Olaplex during the bleaching process this is crazy good stuff.

Emelie they actually do, they damage your hair very much. I have been a dancer my whole life and I have been constantly in ponytails or buns and I have a permanent patch of damaged hair where the bun/ponytail would sit, it's about an inch long and doesn't grow anymore
I hope you understand that it's not her fault your hair broke off, it's the people who damaged your hair before her. Hair stylists really just have to play with the deck they're given. That's why it's very important coloring your hair, especially going blonde. Now for the haircut, that's pretty awful Hahahaha. Love you Chan.
it's sad that the hair lady is making excuses. yes sometimes hair gets caught in clothes towels capes.. but you recheck all throughout. and when the Cape comes off.. I always used to get my customers to give there head a shake to see where it naturally falls to check the cut. Also.. so many hairdressers cut the hair when it's wet then blow dry and curl. there's no way you can check and do a precise cut that way. I'm a hairdresser and tbh if your hairs boob level or more and just one length it's so easy to do your self x

a little tip: blend your undereye concealer down a little further and only put blush on the apples of your cheeks, you could try a bronzer type of blush instead since your skin is already naturally red. using bronzer instead of blush will still give you color in your face and make you look tan, butt just not so red. also you should leave your hair naturally wavy/curled because it is so pretty on your and you wouldn't be able to see as much damage in your hair. also straightening it so much might not be the best idea when its already damaged, it could help to leave it natural
I went to cosmetology school. I know a bob (straight across) haircut seems like the easiest cut to do, but it's actually the hardest. If you mess up, everyone can see it. With layers you can mess up a lot and most people won't notice. And when hairdressers mess up your hair, and know they've messed it up, we're taught to just curl it and hope you don't notice. Hopefully she was just having an off day and doesn't regularly send clients away with jacked up haircuts. I know that is no consolation when it's your hair that got fucked up though. I don't even trust anyone to cut my hair. I cut it myself.

I agree with you on straight across haircuts with no layers is harder to cut, especially on thicker hair. But as a hairstylist, I have never been taught to curl someone's hair to "hide" anything. It is much easier to pick up the comb and shears and make it right. It really bothers me that that is what you were taught in the school you went to. And that isn't saying anything against you, so I hope that isn't taken the wrong way!!
Sara Wright Oh no I totally agree and understand! The curl it and hope they don't notice was one of those worst case scenario type things. Like if you fucked up and tried to fix it and you are just having an off day where nothing's going right. You don't want to leave the poor person nearly bald, so just curl it. Lol I've never had to do that though. Thank goodness!!
Wow this video makes me sad. Being a hair stylist I take so much pride in my work making sure that my clients are always happy with the end result of their hair I know that going from dark to blonde can be a long process I always make sure my clients leave the salon with at home hair care for between color services it really does make a world of difference when it comes to the health of your hair. I'm located in Northern California when your ready for a banging hair cut and a foot touch up! ;)

I do see it. I just drove 3 hours to Folsom recently to have my hair done by a professional & reputable stylist, and paid out the butt, only to get home and realize I had the exact same thing happen to me as Channon. I would never dream of handling it this way. I think that she should of handled it with the hair dresser, I don't think that this was a tactful or kind way of handling this. I think she should have especially contacted the hair dresser before posting anything on the internet where she knows people will figure out who it is. People mess up, Channon included. I think it is especially ironic that Channon expects the hair stylist to be kind and apologetic to her, but she gave her no opportunity to do so, and launched into an un-kind way of handling it. Her first reaction was to hop on RUclips and make a vlog that started drama, and that understandably upset the stylist. I think it's fucked up for your mantra to be "Peace, kindness, positivity!" but not bestow that upon others.
Chelsea Takemoto the name was mentioned a long time ago. for people who are watching this video, they don't and won't know her name unless others write it in the comments. she clearly stated she doesn't want anyone attacking her, because she knows some of the people who are watching this already know her. she's a storytime youtuber, aka finds whatever interesting and viewable story to talk about. and oh trust me, this is the best one of all. it's the hairdresser's fault she messed up her hair BIG TIME. if i were someone researching this person, i'd want to know of such cases. it's called feedback. if you're a hairdresser that can't handle your mistakes, that's your fault.

Paid $300 for my hair to be thinned out (against my will), extensions that are too thin for my hair, and a dye job that didn't even show up! I got it fixed but now I'm terrified to go get my hair done ever again! But your hair is gorgeous and long and you will have no problem getting it fixed. If you have faith and go to another stylist then I will too ❤ Love you lots beautiful!

Ugh I've made the exact same experience with a hairdresser... I went to the most famous and expensive one in my town and he had a really good reputation. I had really dark hair and I wanted him to make me blond and he told me he could do it for me. So I was sitting at his salon for hourssssssss. When he was finally done my hair was fucking orange with brown patches and this piece of shit of a hairdresser charged me 250€ for it which is about ~400-500$.... I had to dye over it because it just looked sooo bad... omfg
That really sucks! It's terrible when you do the research and think you can trust someone with something that's really important to you but then they just let you down.
Btw 250€ is actually only around 260$.

First time I had my hair bleached it wasn't by a professional and it looked incredible, not damaged at all. And it was bleached from dark brown to white blonde. So I don't get how so many people have horror stories with bleached hair with professionals!!😳😳 I now bleach my roots myself and my hair is in such good condition

You should make a video on how you do it! I tried once but I didn't know about toning at the time lol not good
Scare Me Amy it is tricky. being careful and never following the times on the box. just know what your hair needs. and do an aphogee 2 strep protein treatment immediately after helps so so much. if your hair is dark, do it in steps. never try all at once. it is a process. doing coconut oil treatments also help a lot. my hair is very blonde and grows really fast. (it now has blue and pink but I still bleach it). once your hair is bleached, only bleach the roots and tone the rest. I used quick blue bleach and ion sensitive scalp developer from Sally's beauty supply. it damages my hair the least and doesn't make my scalp itch as much. and I use blonde toner (a gold box thay days blonde) and it is the lilac shade to get bleach blonde hair. ). make sure your hair is oily when you bleach it. like a couple of days dirty. and hair masks will be your best friend. love your hair and it will love you back. Girl I can recommend an amazing hair stylist to you! She is only 1.5 hours from you at Salon Vítor in Brentwood CA. She is the only person that I trust to touch my hair. She does an amazing job and has gotten the best of Brentwood award for hair styling and dying for several years now.
If you put coconut oil all over your hair especially the scalp then massage is in for about 3 min and leave it in over night and then wash it is will grow back some strength and help moisture. Love you Channon❤️❤️ I hope you see this💜💜

I have had some many bad experiences with my hair and like 4 years ago I finally found someone that does my hair perfectly. I haven't let anyone else touch my hair. I tell everyone about her lol she's a master with hair. Cutting and color. I love her!

I can't stress coconut oil enough! Ive been bleaching my hair for years and raw coconut oil works great for everything it helps your hair grown and keeps it nourished and shiny, you can put it in 30min before a shower as a treatment and also you can put it in your hair with the bleach and it reduces the damage by 90%
baby go get your hair a keratin treatment I know it will help so much, your hair will be silky as fuck. and use masks and conditioners made especially for damaged dry hair. it will help your hair so much in getting back to its natural state. and a little bit after your hair feels okay again so maybe few months after, go get your hair just however you like it so you can get it as light as you want and from that point on you can just maintain your roots and you'll be done. thats my plan too cause I have platinum blonde hair but these months I've over bleached dark roots of my hair and it burt. I have few tiny chemical cuts too but they are on my baby hair area and under my hair so they are not that obvious thankfully. and I recommend this hair salon I live in turkey so I cant visit there (and probs cant afford) but I think you can, they do beautiful blondes and surprisingly all of them look healty (wait I need to check my instagram to find their name lol)

I'm a cosmetologist and when I do a haircut I ALWAYS have my client look down. When they look down you get all those pieces from underneath. She probably didn't have you look down when she cut it. I'm so sorry that this happened to you!

No hate, but bleaching AND ironing is like the death penalty for your hair. So it's not only the hair dresser's fault, but also the customer's.
It's her fault then she does it right after you are suppose to leave your hair alone and try to mosture it back for awhile,,,,parts prob did fall off due to exessive bleaching she sounds uneducated thats why most blondes are not really long

What I honestly think may have happened, as a ten year professional. I think because you were there for so long ,and how sore your back may have gotten, you may have leaned a little in the chair(which she should be paying attention to, and ask you to sit straight). Which may be why it's so crooked on the bottom. Also, if she isn't great at hair, she might have not thought to have you stand to cut the bottom. When hair goes over the back of the chair, you'll get longer hairs sticking out the bottom. So if you leaned a little, and she didn't think to ask you to stand, that's possibly how it happened. Which is unacceptable, no matter what.
I think you need a few subtle long layers so the ends don't look so choppy, coming from someone with thick hair also. Blunt cuts are near impossible to get looking good on long thick hair! 💕

As a licensed hairstylist I can definitely say sometimes hair does get stuck under the cape; she could have checked the cut and made sure after, even something like not having your head tilted down, or having your legs crossed, can result in an uneven haircut. She is a talented stylist, I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and say maybe she was nervous, and hair cutting just isn't her strong suit and she didn't go back and check her work, but we all make mistakes sometimes, and I wouldn't discredit her work or say she is a bad hairstylist. Just my thoughts :)
