Depends on where u are playing. I play most of my black jack in Europe and South America. The dealer takes his 2nd card AFTER everyone else. Might have blackjack. Never double 11 vs unchecked 10
I know a lot of people that need to watch this video. Can you do one for the person sitting in the last seat on the table? LOL....some people just shouldn't sit there!
It doesn’t matter where that person sits. It messes up everything. But hey. Sometimes they take a card and help the table too. We just remember the bad times. Lol.
Dealer must hit until 17 no matter what. Even an ace and a 6 is called soft 17 since the ace is one or 11. When u can say 7 or 17 then that is a soft 17. Most casinos will even hit that. It'll say on table "dealer must hit soft 17" or it'll say dealer stands on all 17s
@@JohnnieV But in this case let's say I am the person with the soft 17, I decide to hit so I have the 7 + Ace + 3.... The dealer shoes 9+5 which already beats me. But he decides to hit and bust because of casino rules force him to hit because he is less than 17? even though its a 1 on 1? ....I could understand him hitting if there were like 4 other players with cards higher than 14 since he wants to beat more people at once. but in a 1 on 1, it seems obvious for the dealer to just do nothing to collect your money?
@@Eikon90 rules. It doesn't matter what the players have. Dealer has set rules. Has to continue to take cards when 16 or less. So if dealer shows a 6 good chance he has a facecard under (16) then has to take a card. Likely to bust when taking a card at 16
Don't double on 11 against a face card? Basic strategy states otherwise. Isn't basic strategy statistically valid over time? Serious question... I don't understand your thinking
You are correct but it isnt a 63% winning bet. It is barely over 52% win rate. In casinos where the dealer takes second card at the end it is a losing double (european and south America).. If dealer has bj he scoops your double
@@JohnnieV ok. So in the case of euro and South American casinos I'll defer to your knowledge even though I'm not exactly sure what the difference is. I'm the case of other casinos... It's an edge...so over time doubling is beneficial. Maybe not in an isolated hand(s), maybe it's not a huge edge, but in a game where the casino holds the edge most of the time any edge is something to maximize on I would think
Joshua Stinson you are correct. Doubling vs a 10 and probably a checked ace is an edge. Very very small edge. In my 25 years of dealing i guess I just remember the losing doubles. I am scarred.
You've always got to hit 16 if the dealer has 10. Also it's unwise to double on soft 17 if the dealer shows 7. Take a card but don't risk anymore by doubling.
I say dd with a 10 against a dealer's ace. Why? The dealer asked if you wanted insurance. He looks at his hole card and sees he doesn't have a ten. He just told you he has no better than nine. Your dbl'd ten makes twenty and you either push or win. Any other card besides a nine and you always win. You will make 20 or 21 40% of the time. Show me a better bet in a casino. You will win over 53% of the time. Finally a bet where you have the edge against the casino. You will at least push 63%.
@@JohnnieV…..Oh, I'm perfectly aware of that. Your video just reminded me of that infamous video where the cop is doing a gun safety presentation in a classroom and proceeds to have an unintended discharge of the weapon. I didn't really mean my comment in any kind of critical way...just, bemused. Cheers.
I want my enemies to learn blackjack from this guy
Which advice do u disagree with??
I stopped watching the moment he said don’t double 11 against a 10. Lmaooooo

@@JohnnieV Very true, hadn't thought of that
When I play, i dont double down on a face card and only if dealer have a 4,5,6. and I have an Ace
I never heard of that rule of 9 before. Interesting.
I just invented it. No. Really. It works about 90% along with basic strategy rules.

You lose, but that's life
Yup. Just trying to minimize the losses.
At 3:54, why would the dealer hit even though their 14 is higher than your 13 (7 + Ace + 5) from the double down???. I am a noob and very confused.

By the way a 7 an ace and a 3 is 21. An ace is 1 or 11.

@@JohnnieV yes that was one of the examples you shown
At the 4:00 mark of the video is soft 17 vs 7. I said nothing about doubling down.
Actually Better to surrender with 16 vs ace/10/9 and surrender 15 vs 10
Eric Smith u right about that. Getting 50% back on 16 vs ace or ten is a good deal. Only one outta 11 casinos around here offer surrender.
Is it just me, or is there a shortage of 10-valued cards in that shoe?
The count is good. Make a large bet
These videos would make more sense if you explained the table rules. This advice is completely dependent on which rules the casino is offering

The odds of winning when doubling 11 vs ace is 48-49% about 8% you will push. 43% chance you will lose. Assuming dealer hits soft 17
You dont have the edge. Mathematically negative expectation.

Yea. This isnt a guarantee way to win. Lol. Just playing the odds.
I'll just settle for taking a dollar from you each time your in-video advice turns out to be unsupported by your results. Lol.
Google "negative expectation games." Obviously you will lose more often than you win. How else would they build $800 million dollar hotels. Lol
