Wonderful explanation but I might add that it also depends on the question if the dealer stand on or hits soft 17 (and of course the number of decks in play). "Oddly", you rather hit a 11 when the dealer stands on soft 17 and rather double when the dealer hits soft 17.
I'm an excellent blackjack player besides the fact that sometimes I can't control my emotions and I tilt I go in a frenzy while I put it all on the table sometimes I win mostly i lose ..... I have built my bank roll up just to see it windle down...... Going through my emotions I start to place high wages and I build my bankroll back up and the cycle continues I definitely have a issue with taking huge losses where I get in recovery mode.... I definitely need to build my bank roll up and play a lot conservative and not risk it all but I love the thrill I love to rush I like blackjack.
Never seen a game with one card to the dealer, and I certainly wouldn't play it to begin with. It increases the house advantage greatly as you can bust before they reveal a black jack. Must be a UK thing.
There's one video from Blackjack Apprenticeship that I watched recently that advises that you should double down on 11 against any dealer's up card except for an ace in a game where the dealer stands on soft 17, and you should double an 11 against any dealer's face-up card in a game where the dealer hits soft 17; both of these apply when the dealer has two cards. ruclips.net/video/LKV4yjnnpC0/видео.html

Interesting, is this on a table where the dealer has 2 cards?
I WOULD ALWAYS DOUBLE ON AN 11 WITH A $5 BET ,BUT ID HAVE TI THINK TWICE BEFORE DOING IT IF I HAD A $500 BET

It's a UK thing.
Yes the fact that you can double down, and then the dealer pulls a Blackjack is a massive disadvantage for the player
