Investigators detail how they found Yaser Said in 'honor killings' trial

- The prosecution laid out the timeline leading up to Said's arrest. He'd been on the run since 2008 after the shooting death of his daughters outside an Irving hotel.
A Dallas jury unanimously found Yaser Said guilty of killing his two teen daughters, Sarah and Amina Said.
Judge Chika Anyiam sentenced Said to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors said Said, a native of Egypt, was angry that his daughters were dating and that the boys were not Muslim. They claim in a 911 call from the night of the murders, Sarah said her father was attacking her.
Said's defense attorney said he will be filing a notice to appeal.

Even in death their family disrespected the girls, the two documentary filmmakers about the story of this family said at the funeral many of their family members believed their murder was justified and that what the father did was right....these people are sick.

As far as the mother goes, since she's partly responsible for what happened she ought to be imprisoned for a number of years as well. If he molested his daughters as they said he did, he should have served prison time, and then shipped right on back to where he came from( and if his son wanted to be with his violent/perverted dad, then sent him right with him).

I always found the case very disturbing. The girls did not want to go anywhere near that man, but the mother took them to him. She may as well have murdered them herself.
She was a victim herself. He had threatened her in the past that he would kill her, her family, and her daughters if she tried to get away. Most domestic violence victims don’t think it would ever actually happen and they took themselves into thinking the apology is real each time it’s given. It’s horrible because she WANTED to go with them that day but the father refused.
I agree that she is responsible for putting them in the same physical space as their father because she should have never allowed them back in his presence back in 98 when they confessed he molested them, but it’s wild what an abusive person can do in brainwashing/abusing their spouse.
It’s very bad but the father was a crazed man that would’ve found a way to kill the girls whether or not the mother took them to him. The only way they could’ve gotten away was to join witness protection but that wouldn’t have even been offered to them (most likely) in this situation. The mother would have needed to completely flee with zero contact with family members because they would have told Yaser of her whereabouts. The mother didn’t have the ability to flee financially without depending on someone else so it makes it very tough when you don’t have resources

How embarrassing for the FBI to get a tip from a maintenance person that Yaser, after he was put on the FBI’s ten most wanted fugitives list, was living in an apartment with his SON and that they lost him because he jumped out a two-story window. And that it took an additional three years before they found him by tracking his SON’s movements. Duh!

I'd bet my dad for killing my sister... How on Earth this man protected him is beyond belief he needs to be held accountable and put on trial for accessories to murder, tampering with evidence, harbiting a fugitive.
I believe they did arrest at least one of his sons and Yasars Brother for harboring a fugitive and took a plea deal for 10 years. The only part that im iffy about was if it was both of his sons, or One and Yasars brother, but all those SOB's should be serving time because they believe what he did was right.

The Mom needs charges because he knew how dangerous the situation was for her daughters; that's why she left in the first place. Then she returned with them and got they were murdered. It's not like this is something new in their culture. The mom failed to protect her children from harm and needs to do at least 15 yrs in jail.

i read about that time the mother left with the daughter was to spy on them and not actually run away:

I am angry this man got to enjoy that last twelve years of his freedom. But I am happy he will be locked away forever. The phone call of his daughter still is in my head all these years later.

@dorothysmith7289, The mother assisted with her daughters murders because she brought them back, insisted they meet with the sociopath/murderer/father & assured them they would be safe( she was aware of his plans)..The girls were extremely afraid to see the father again but, the mother persuaded them to go...She's as guilty as he is, allowed him to spy on them, molest them( she was aware of this) physically & mentally abused them, & kept them socially isolated..These beautiful girls told friends the father "treated them like whores living in his house" Sadly, these beautiful young girls had NO ONE protecting them throughout their lives & never experienced freedom, nor happiness because of their parents choices...The mother is a grown woman who CHOSE to stay in an unhealthy relationship & forced her daughters to live the same way!!!

I've been following this case since before I was either of the girls' ages at the time of their murder. I'm so glad this pitiful excuse for a father has finally been put to justice.

I knew I heard more pops (gunshots) while she was on the line and kept saying “stop it”. Just horrible! That poor baby girl knew her big sister was gone and that she was slipping too. My heart breaks at her suffering especially, but for what they endured throughout their lives.

There are so many things to enjoy and build great memories of with your daughters (and sons), graduations, helping them with school projects, teaching them how to drive, getting their drivers license, birthdays, laughter around the house or out somewhere, getting lunch together or catching a movie on a Saturday afternoon, going to college and so many other great memories to build. Love your child, be a close, supportive and nurturing family and build them up to be the greatest _them_ that they can be.

I disagree with you. In theory, Islam is a good religion. In practice around the world, it is nothing but a huge Patriarchy that enslaves the female gender and mistreats animals as well. Show me ONE progressive Muslim country in the world - One. There are none. From Indonesia, to Africa, to Middle East, to Afghanistan, Pakistan, even in India, it is nothing but a shameful parade of atrocities and crimes against women and girls. Even the Halal meat is to torture an animal and bleed it out while alive for religious reasons. Why? In the old days, blood went bad fast, take out the blood and meat preserved longer without refrigeration. But there is no reason for that today and it is still being done. It should be outlawed!
With regard to Saudi Arabia, your Crown Prince has imprisoned his own sister because she wanted to live her life freely in the West, and not dress in hijab, and drive and be independent. He had her kidnapped and keeping her drugged and imprisoned in the palace. So don't make statements about Islam being so noble. Its a medieval religion that never underwent any change. Islam is a dangerous religion since there is no separation of Church and State. Christianity used to be like this too during the Inquisition, witch burning (all women of course), until the Renaissance period when Church lost control of civic life and State and was separated. Henceforth, we had CIVIL laws not Religious laws and Civil penalties which did not included burning women at the stake. Islam has never had that. So they still cut off right hands for stealing in Pakistan, still stone women to death for adultery (never the men, mind you), and honor killings because the virginity of a woman belongs to her family and is something that can be sold (by men of course).
Killing or aborting baby girls is still practiced widely in India, despite being illegal. There was a RUclips video of a baby girl just born being fed to street dogs who were carrying her off like meat. I saw it and was so horrified. This is a little village somewhere not the cities of course. The trouble with Islam is that power center has become male dominated. This has to change. Civil law must dominate over Sharia law (religious law) in all cases otherwise we are going backward in the human race.
Honor killing has everything to do with Islam, people need to wake and stop listening to taqiyya (lies) from the pit of hell, it's in the Quran and the Hadith,please stop defending evil!!!

This is why it boggles my mind that women running from death in cultures that don’t respect come as refugees and we allow the men in right along with them and we think they’re just going to disregard what their religion and culture have engrained in them. Leave the men behind to solve thier countries problems while the world helps the women, vetting on a regular basis should be done to assure that that those ways are not allowed in countries where women have equal rights, you can’t allow this to happen ever again!
