What I have found is that I had a tendency to "bounce back" slightly with my upper body when I reached that maximum coil, which I felt as a tension in my upper left back. Needless to say this bouncing threw off my transition and downswing. By holding this tension just a fraction longer, I do much better. Perhaps you could address this tendency.
