Crochet Kids Hooded Sweater / Even Moss stitch Sweater

- In this tutorial I will show you how I crocheted this kids hoodie sweater. I used the even moss stitch which is quite neat and pretty yet easy to do. I made for age 6-8 years but you can adjust to fit the different sizes or other ages. for the rubbing I used the slip stitch in the back loop only, which makes it really neat.
Materials.
Acrylic yarn, use DK or medium weight yarn. I used 5 and half balls of yarn each 100g
I used 4.5 mm hook
Tape measure
yarn needle

It's so crazy how careful we have to be nowadays with even just giving away compliments. Even I sometimes don't now what so say anymore! Am I black? Am I mix? Am I a person of colour? Do I have to call myself Afro-German? But I like how polite you are! I would never have a problem with anyone telling me that clothes or a colour go well with my skin tone. Just had to me too that. I think it is more that we can't see someone's face or here the tone of their voice in order to get a sense of the intended meaning thru textual conversation. If I am standing in front of you and I see your smile and hear the warmth in your words then I know your heart as you speak.

I made this about two years ago and my grandson and everyone for that matter loved it. I am now making it again for another grand. I came back here to remind me of the pattern. I just love this pattern. It is easy to follow.
This gives me confidence to do my first wearable besides a scarf or hat 😃. Thank you for your easy to follow tutorial! Now I need to save money for some pretty yarn to make my daughter's sweaters.

Beautiful hoodie could you make this in adult sizes? Would love one of these for winter. Hard to find tutorials with hoodies. Your son is very handsome the sweater looks wonderful on him.
I just made it in adult size, measure shoulder to shoulder, back length and arms , you chain enough to match the measurement. I added several more stitches to make it a bit more loose.
@@canolli2944 how do you measure the inches to leave for the neckline?
@@faithodulesi you don’t measure the neckline but once you make the two sides of the sweater according to the persons measurements, it all just comes together. You place the front and back panels together and stitch by where the shoulders would be. She shows it in the video
Thanks I was referring to the portion where she said to make 2 inches of the shoulder panel, like how do you determine that size I'm sure my question is unclear

Shoulder to shoulder measurements plus 1 inch, that’s the measurements you will need for the bottom ribbing of both panels

This hoodie is going to be very tedious and take a while to make using such a small hook. Though I'm sure that's why it's such a beautiful sweater. Also, I LOVE how you don't just attach the hood in the back but all the way around as is meant to be. The hood size got a bit confusing though I'll admit bcuz you kept throwing too many number at me. Just a suggestion but, you could put notes for different sizes in the description box. Also try using different hook sizes to see what happens with size. I liked how you sewed it all together. I've never seen it done that way b4. I love uniqueness and learning new ways to do things. Thank you for your simple stitch even though I thought it would be hard. Very well explained. This is beautiful and easy... and your son just makes it all the more wonderful to want to make... But I have seen you have been asked regarding if you can give us some tips on how we would make this for an adult man, have you already gave a thought?
If I were to make and adult size, I would simply google adult hoodie measurements and use the shoulder measurements for bottom ribbing that we start with. The rest is standard hoodie measurements

Lovely pattern thankyou. Could you please tell me though, when you say 4 increases-are you counting the 2 increases (beginning and end) as 2? Or do you mean one increase both ends 4 times? Eg: row 6, row 12,row 18, row 24?
