    I love this trail. Have not been back up here since the early 1990s. A fire on top 4 Peaks took out a lot of the pine forest up there in +/- the mid 1990s. My ASU roommate, me and 2 other buddies took his stock street VW Beetle up this trail in winter 1977 to the saddle. 4 guys with a case of beer in the Vdub. Then we hooked it S to the Peaks hiking trail and played in the snow after walking along the trail toward the North-most peak. Volksie made it back down to the Beeline. The only damage was one of the 2 chrome muffler pipes below the rear bumper broke off on a rock. Fun trail! Beauteous scenery! Spectacular views of the rim, Roosevelt lake and the Tonto forest! AZ rocks!

      Sounds like an amazing story! The trail is still pretty mild but a VW Beetle may have a few issues…HaHa. Definitely beautiful up there. You should checkout the other video I posted called Edward’s Park. It runs along the ridge to the north from the top of Four Peaks.
      Thanks for watching!

      Hey thanks Eric for the comments. Appreciate that.
      My Jeep is a stock Rubicon. These things are so capable stock.
      Four Peaks is a great easy trail. Your Mojave is more than capable to run that or really anything that you have seen me run.
      As for airing down, many people do but I rarely ever do. It does soften the ride and gives you more traction but for the trails I run, I am not in a race and generally go slower to take in the scenery.

      This is actually an uphill climb. It is a fairly graded road with some rough / rocky areas the further you go up. I didn’t air down but many people do to soften the ride a bit. Beautiful scenery too.

    What's the turn off for the trail as your heading north on the 87? In your description you mention you come out the 188 afterwards

    • @Trail89Adventures
      @Trail89Adventures  5 месяцев назад +1

      The turn off from 87 is called Cline Cabin Road on google maps.
      Coordinates 33.6782001, -111.5026394
      This will take you up and over Four Peaks down to RT188 on the other side. I hear it is icy up at the top right now.

    • @Trail89Adventures
      @Trail89Adventures  Год назад +1

      @@MetroCollectablesandvlogs I would say four hours total. Many people go to the top then come back down. If you go up then go down the back an come out by Roosevelt Lake it is shorter miles but you have to loop back on the trail or take the main roads and that will add additional time.

    • @Trail89Adventures
      @Trail89Adventures  Год назад

      @@MetroCollectablesandvlogs just depends how long you ant to be out for. Four hours is how long I took to do it. I stop and take pictures and stuff and not in a race. Others have done it faster. If you get to the top and had enough, go back down the front. If you are up for more go down the backside. You just have to get back from the backside and there isn’t a very direct route. Just take that into consideration. I have done it both ways.

    Is the trail marked so you do not take wrong turn?

    • @Trail89Adventures
      @Trail89Adventures  Год назад

      The trail I believe is marked as FR143. There are a few side trails that branch off but for the most part it is easy to navigate. The Trailsoffroad website can give you a specific route and you can download a GPX track to navigate you through.

    Hello, new sub here, I’ve seen maybe three of your vids so far. I like your narration, local knowledge, and general info about the trails. Can I please ask that you ditch the music. IMHO. It’s not needed. The sound of the engine and crunch of the gravel under your tires is sufficient. The “music” takes away from the quality of your vids and quite frankly it’s irritating. Keep up the good work.
