- I took the family on a day trip up Four Peaks, AZ. A must do a Arizona trail, preferably not on a weekend.
A great trip where I was able to use my new Smittybilt compressor.

Heading up there today! Hopefully not too busy when we head out
Great video guys. Keep them coming.
Thank you
Nice video, thanks for sharing ✌
such beautiful scenery!
Thank you very much. Made it myself!!!
Wife & I rocked the Fourpeaks trail system in my crosstrek with a Subaru group. Good times!
Haha. It is or was such a beautiful place. The last fire really kicked the crap out of the view. I saw a Crosstrek in Colorado doing crazy mountain peaks with only a 2” lift and All-Terrains. They are pretty capable.
@@AdventureBuilt I've seen Subaru vehicles I would not have expected. On a side note: went to butcher jones today and it is still closed. Sign said until end of March I believe. I understand the safety concerns, but in my opinion it should have been opened back up.
Nice rig it looks sick with the 35,s!
Just found your channel...it's great...hope to see you on the trail neighbor.
Hey thanks man. If you see me be sure to flag me down.
I love your state. Thank goodness I have friends that I can visit and pretend I live there. Work brought me out there in 2002. My monthly visits back then made me fall in love with AZ. Also, my son is an ASU alum; graduated in 2017.
My buddy has the same compressor, it works well
Yeah! The 3-wheeler!
Classic!!!
You might want to replace that hose on your compressor. I keep mine in my truck and the AZ heat destroyed it; literately fell apart upon use one day. Good thing I was just looking to top off a tire in my driveway. I took it over to a hose store and got a 16' Goodyear rubber hose made up and years later it is still solid.
Brian M. Great tip. Thank you very much. I am looking at a system that can inflate 2 tires at the same time. Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it.
Did you void your warranty when you added the extra parts?
I love watching your video! Very mature and professional ! Your truck looks awesome! Keep it up 👍🤘
Thank you very much!!!
Nice trip bro! Cool family! Looks like you need hood struts for the truck. How’s the cost of living in AZ?
Nick _ thank you very much. Hood struts would be awesome but low on the list. AZ has a pretty low cost of living but the summers in Phoenix will melt your face off.
We just finished up a deer hunt on the back side of Four Peaks, unfortunately it doesn't look like that anymore after all the fires this summer.
Yea I haven’t been back but heard about all the fire damage. It’s a shame but should come back pretty quick.
How works the suspension Eibach ?
Please advise..
SuperHikler the Eibach kits works great. I highly recommend it.
Rained for the past 7 days? I live on the east side (Fountain Hills) and I can see Four Peaks from my backyard! I must have missed all the rain because I haven't gotten a drop!
Video was filmed in March when we got all that rain. Playing catch up.
Unfortunately it’s getting way too busy in that area. A lot of accidents, trash, and just people making poor choices. It’s a bummer because it only leads to trails being closed.
You are 💯 correct. Way too busy and people were shooting everywhere. It was a little ridiculous.
Cool video. I never knew you could get to rosey through four peaks.. if u drove non stop starting at beeline to rosey, how long do you think it would take ?
Joseph thank you. I think it would take you 3-4 hours. Totally an estimate because we took a lot longer with stops, video and pics.
@@AdventureBuilt thanks for the response. I would've assumed less, seemed like a shortcut. Either way it's a cool route, more scenic than the beeline or through globe. If you are looking for another cool overland route look into the desert to pines highway I believe it's called. You may already know about it. Thanks again for the response.
Rig looks good. What are the tires and wheels setup ? How you like them suspension?
Johnny Blazed hey thanks man. The wheels are the Method 701’s in black. The tires are Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains 35x12.5. I combo is so badass.
@@AdventureBuilt is this still on the eibach suspension?
Air down on a graded road, supper smart idea. Well worth your time. Ya I air down my wife’s Honda when we go up to the peaks. Way more easier to do three wheel drifts around those sandy corners. Plus all that hard core traction I get when the vtec kicks in on those super fine sand straight aways, which you have to air down for. It’s like baby powder bruh!
Honestly my 35” mud terrains have such a stiff sidewall I air down going over speed bumps. It really smooths out the ride. Glad I could give you some ideas next time you head in that way.
You probably get this a lot but this is the first video I've watched from your channel: How high is your lift on the truck and what size tires, etc? Love the look of it. MPG?
Thank you very much. The lift is Eibach pro truck 2.5” of lift. Method 701 wheels at zero offset but I would go -6 offset. Toyo 35x12.5 Mud Terrains. Ranging around 13mpg. Not great but I also have not gotten a gear change yet. I go into detail about my truck setup on my channel. Check it out. Thx for watching this one.
Yeah I took my brand new 2020 tacoma trd pro that I had brought home like 3 days prior last october and it was a fun trail but its intensely annoying because it seems like every 10 minutes, some idiot on a sxs was flying around a blind corner on a descending path around a dead drop off....
The trail is awesome and the side by sides are killing the trail. Can’t tell you how many people have told me they either have been hit or almost hit by a side by side flying around a corner.
Great videos, 4 peaks is not fun anymore. Flying side by sides ruin in. I won’t go anymore.
Agreed!!!
Just did this drive on Wednesday Dec. 22nd 2021 and only encountered less than a dozen vehicles. You should definitely do this drive on a weekday.
Watching other people’s edited videos is very deceiving. We had a very-incorrect expectation of how long this trip would take and how smooth the road appeared. The trip was not too long, but about half way up we were wondering if we were even on the right trail because every time we crested a hill we could see miles more road ahead and then it got to the point that we couldn’t see the road ahead.
As I also mentioned, these videos make the road look very well-maintained. It’s certainly not a difficult or technical road, but you will spend the entire way up listening to your keychain beat against your steering column. I think we only average between five and 10 mph the entire way up. Not a big deal just not what we expected.
If we had a nice suspension and some nice big tires are you guys do it may have been a bit smoother, but we just have a bone stock Colorado Z71 4x4.
This is a great little day trip for the family. If I do it again I’m going up and back on the lake side. It is smoother and shorter.
PS: Everything in this video was green, lush, and full. Our trip, everything was burnt to twigs with only small amounts of ground-level growth. It was like an alien environment.
What's the duty cycle for that air compressor?
JR Cook I honestly had no idea so I looked it up. Smittybilt says 40 minutes depending on temp but has a thermal cut off. Trevor has filled up his truck and trailer tires from 25psi to 45psi and has never had an issue.
What size tires and lift on the Tacoma
2.5” Eibach lift and 35” Toyo MT.
What size of wheel are you running?
I run the 17” Method 701 in 0 Offset.
use the compressor with the engine on, it makes a difference!
I actually did that a couple times and completely agree. Good info. Thanks.
Great video! I subbed. Made me wanna move out to AZ.
Thanks. The Phoenix area is great until you get into the summer months. Then yo will want to rip your face off from the heat. 112 degrees today. Not even the summer yet. Uhggggg.
Adventure Built I know heat well haha born and raised in FL. But they’re different kind of heats FL doesn’t get quite that hot but the humidity is killer.
What else did you do to run 35s with the eibach??
rodney ellison basically I did the runnin4tacos.com cab mount relocate kit. And some minor fender trimming only where it rubbed. Not to bad.
Adventure Built Thanks for the response! My eibach is on the way just trying to decide on tire size now. Love to see a video or pics on how they fit doesn’t look like to much rubbing honestly.
Got to do a local meet up ride!👍
Lake Havasu-
bquade70 absolutely. Probably flagstaff area since it already getting crazy hot in the valley.
Haven't been over that way in a long long time... That'd be awesome sometime.
Email address in your about me?
bquade70 advbuilt19@gmail.com
You need more lift sir or some trimming for those 35,s.
What camper shell is that?
It’s the ProTop. I’m not impressed with it. I would go with an ARE. That is what I have on my 2nd gen Tacoma and they are better quality.
Would you recommend this trail for noobs? just bought a 2022 Mojave Gladiator and haven't taken it out yet. TIA
Absolutely. It’s a beautiful drive. Although the fire up there a couple years ago has affected the brush. The views are still amazing.
@@AdventureBuilt appreciate it
Sooooo....why'd you air down?
Honestly the washboard roads from the grading and just comfort. A much smoother ride.
What size tires are you running
35” Toyo Mud Terrain. Don’t they look nice.
Adventure Built they look great. I have the 2020 off road in Quicksand. Like the mods you have done so far Kelly. The trimming, cab mount chops and relocation brackets are the only things that suck with adding larger tires on the Tacos.
Armand Couture hey thanks man. I completely agree. It is a total pain but totally necessary. I love the quicksand color but Cement is obviously my first choice.
Not to mention the $3,000 regearing cost. Plus front lockers. Thats whats keeping me from 35s
Kelly...great vid..lost your contact info...reach out Jason from Surprise Long Gun
Where is the pindrop on google maps wanna take da fam thru the same route
andrew I’m trying to figure out how to upload the gpx file to my website so you can have the entire trail. I’ll let you know when I figure it out.
@@AdventureBuilt upload a screenshot? Of the trail
Nice memory. Too bad it is all scorched earth now.
I know it’s such a shame!!!
weekends are def a no go out there. too many aholes driving like they are racing the Baja 1000. I am surprised there are not more head-ons out there.
100% agree
How do I buy one of your shirts?
Cory Casarez crazy cool right. I’m working on the website now. I’ll let you know as soon as it is up and running. Thank you.
Thank you :) can’t wait. Love the channel
Just so everyone knows you can just take your girlfriends Honda up this road and leave your 4x4 at home.
dertywhiteboy1980 what if my girlfriend doesn’t drive a Honda? Asking for a friend.
I would not recommend people try to take a minivan on this "road".
Haha I completely agree. That was brought up because of some comments in another video. Too funny.
@@AdventureBuilt Let me guess, someone was making fun of your video, saying you were being dramatic and that it wasn't real off-roading that you were doing?
