I had a huge grin on my face throughout the second half of this video. My favorite flavor of electric guitar playing is Chuck Berry, so Ron Wood is everything I dig about guitar. I think Cindy Incidentally is an absolute perfect guitar song. So there. I've already said too much.
Have you ever seen Rod live? Were you lucky enough to see the Faces?
Todd builds and repairs amps for your favorite guitar players. You should check out his website and tell him Otis sent you.

Great video. Could not have ended it Better . "He's A Rock Star" you can definitely tell the influences of the early British rockers. Wasn't much different than our most famous early rockers here in the US. Graeat music is universal.

I saw Rod live at Poplar Creek in CHI back in 1988/89. The show opened with around a dozen guys playing bagpipes walking up and down the isles. Great show!

I saw him in Greensboro somewhere around '86. He's a great showman. He was booting soccer balls at an impressive distance into the audience. One of them went almost straight up at mach 2 and hit the overhead speaker then straight down into some unfortunate lady's head. She appeared to be OK but Rod was visibly upset and no more balls were kicked that night. I saw him again about 10 years latter and soccer balls were not part of the show. The music was great both times.

I'm American, born in Indiana in the 70s but this guy is speaking my language with the names of the British blues scene of the 60s. Alexis Korner, Baldry , Mayall Beck Ronnie Lane and all the Small Faces and Faces . This is the stuff I love . All these guys are interlinked and knew each other. Along with Peter Green, Christine Perfect, Brian Jones etc they were the ones who appreciated the blues so much that they played it when their audience was still just a handful of people around London . No money to be made from it , they just needed to play the blues.Great interview

Of course I am Rod's number one fan hahaha. Followed him since 1971 and that might just be the best interview that I have ever heard from a band mate of Rods. I have always wanted to peer behind the drapes or behind the recording studio door to know if Rod really LOVES music, how does he create music? What is he like being on tour with? So, yes, he really loves music like we think he does and what great stories that happened on the road. and Sharp Todd, 😉, definitely did a great interview and I wish that he knew how much I appreciated it

As a Young Drummer in the 80’s , I became pals with Carmine Appice and I got to see Rod 17 or so times starting with the CAMOUFLAGE Tour…..that was one of the few acts that I dreamed of touring with!! I knew the stories and the the way the organization was run….incredible! Ended up playing with Bobby Whitlock and then Buddy Miles in the 90’s but the business was changing fast into a corporate world. Shows were never the same after Bill Graham got killed!

cannot tell you how much I enjoyed that. Faces were my idea of a band - bar on stage - ragged starts and stops and a mile deep pocket. Ronnie Lane - pure soul. Ian. Kenny. The outtakes on 5 Guys Walk into a Bar - cracking on each other. Having a laugh. Ugh. If only I'd had the talent. ;)

It Ain't Easy. Fantastic album that one side was produced by Rod Stewart, the other produced by Elton John, both with their bands and studio mates performing. Rod had Ronnie and Maggie Bell and Sam Mitchell, Elton had Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson. "Don't Try To Lay No Boogie-Woogie On The King Of Rock and Roll" was the big single. The album was payback/helping hand to their mentor from SteamPacket....look that one up! Terrific episode, Otis!

First of all, I did see both Rod and Jeff together by accident, and they also had along with, Nicky Hopkins and Ron Wood. I've also seen Chuck, BB, Muddy, Eric, Carlos, Buchanan, Bishop, Kath and more...I thought Rod was a poof, when he was getting ready to sing with Jeff that day in Central Park. When I heard their music, I didn't much care how he looked to me. Later, of course, Rod won the trophy wife lottery with Rachel. Life's been good to me. Thanks Otis!

Ronnie Wood and Rod were the Laurel and Hardy in the original Jeff Beck Group. Jeff just wasn’t much fun in those days, much as they loved and respected his talent. If you think it was cool to hear Sam Cooke in Rod's voice, next time you listen to Back in Black/Thunderstruck....try to NOT hear Elmo from Sesame street in Brians voice. You just cannot unhear it. no matter how much you love ACDC, and all 3 of their singers. (Dave, Evans, Bon, Brian)

Rod Stewarts' autobio is worth reading. After his cancer surgery he couldn't sing for six months. He brought his band to his garage after the times up daily and built his voice back up, sometimes only.
doing a song or two. He was not sure he would ever be able sing again like before.

Rod Stewart nor most of this is my jam particularly but one of the many things that makes Otis channel great is every video is interesting..every tlme inl click on one with a title not in my sphere of usual interest or taste sometimes thinking it won't make me wanna rewind when i miss some thing or space out or get distracted i still wind up going back lol.. anyways rod has more women screaming emoting enjoying in one row of one show not to mention entire show and career than most of us ever connect with in our entire lives. Lol ...one of my favs beyond these stories is from about the only living comedian I love roy wood jr who has an absolutely hysterical bit that brings me probably yall and roy on stage to laughing tear level...about finally taking his mom who amusingly refers to as Joyce and as a good story teller does paints a vivid image for us of so anyways there ar a big department store in London maybe Lloyd's whatever and hes treating Joyce tryna make her happy..theres a button on the elevator saying that floor is closed so of couree Joyce pushes that one its marked closed or private Joyce doesnt care...adding joyce and Roy are very Alabama Roy is tryna keep Joyce out of trouble the brits are struggling to get her to understand the entire floor is closed for a private shopper and then tells us Joyce is one of many women in life with .. yup rod Stewart.... so when she finds out thats whos shopping she refuses to lewve and the bit just gets really hysterical from there .anyways gotta respect cats like that even if it isnt our thing. Thanks brother otis et fam
