I could listen to Mr Sharp for hours what a amazing life. He tales these stories with clarity , detail and humbleness. And Otis you never get in the way you just fluidly pull these incredible stories out of these extraordinary musicians. Thank You both.
What a fantastic video. I worked for a company called Express Sound in Costa Mesa CA and we put together - with Randy Ezratty, the sound engineer on this project - the recording system that was shipped to Africa. It was such a cool experience for me to be a tiny part of it. I remember cutting a Sound Workshop mixing console into three pieces so it would fit in cases and the airline container, hearing "well, there goes the warranty" from several folks. I never really heard much about the actual recording so hearing Todd Sharp's recollection is just great. Thanks for this!
In 1978, my college roommate had just arrived from Nigeria and proclaimed his favorite kind of music was High Life, but we wouldn't know what it was because we would never have heard it. One night, I played Live Dead and when Turn On Your Love Light came on, he broke into my room screaming, "where did you get this High Life music? This is explosive!" I took him and his brother to see the Dead when they came to town and they destroyed their seats.
That Mick Fleetwood album, THE VISITOR, is all over the place musically, but does have 3 very interesting & worthwhile "African-influenced" tracks. I still listen to "Superbrains" a lot. Great interview - thanks for sharing.
Yes, ’Shufflers and Bluesmen’ will always perk up ears to settle my mind. ☮ These stories and remembrances will help document music that previously were only in the minds of those who were there to experience it.
Admittedly I’ve only seen a handful of these videos, but this is my favorite so far by far!!!! Fantastic story, and its great to hear Todd talking about the high quality of musicians who are unknown to most of the world. That can often be so overlooked. I remember when the album The Visitor was released but I never heard it. Definitely going to check it out now.

I grew up on FMac too. All the blues stuff and Rumors and otherwise up until Tusk. Bob Welch solo was one of my favorites too. I bought the Caljam 2 8track in 1977 (8). Also, had the film from it and saw it “live” on the TV. This is such great stuff. Also, my second “concert” was Hall and Oates at Six Flags over Ga. Next time I’m in Nashville, I wanna talk with Todd about a portable acoustic amp. I’m outfitted in every way imaginable, except for that one thing, for mandolin and guitar. I’d love to be able to replace my heavy-ish acoustic amp with an amp made for my needs. Thanks Otis yet again.
I am enjoying this interviews. The one with Rod and mention of Lon John, was fun to hear too. However, I should of zigged but I zagged. In early 70's I could of gone anywhere. I was young and my folks died young, siblings all older than me and had family-so I set out. I went to FLORIDA . California was the first thought, London the second...Oh well. Thanks for the memories
I’ll attest to the fact that The Visitor is a very cool album..! I had to check it out.. Maybe I’ll cover a couple with the guys..🙏🏻❤️ Thanks Todd and Otis..!
I seen Mick F coming out of a starbucks in Whis. I had no idea who he was but I knew he was a rock star. He had the custom embroidered jeans and the 50 something AND 20 something chicks both with him. The staff told me, "That was Mick fleetwood".
Mick Fleetwood's " The Visitor " is a fantastic record! A couple years later Paul Simon would use the same concept with " Graceland" to great critical and commercial success. Of course Mick's album sold peanuts.

Love both Kiln House and Bare Trees. Bob Welch is underrated.
As was Danny Kirwan. My favorite album of that era is Future Games

Great story Otis, Where else but Ghana? Right on Man ! Thanks Again, Next please . Haha!
Of all the great interviews you’ve posted, this guy has to be the most intriguing. How does one person have so many lifetime experiences?
Yes, ’Shufflers and Bluesmen’ will always perk up ears to settle my mind. ☮ These stories and remembrances will help document music that previously were only in the minds of those who were there to experience it.
Mick Fleetwood in Ghana is a 30 minute show on RUclips.

Wow! Loved this
Awesome! 👍🏻
Fleetwood/McVie is one of the most underappreciated rhythm sections...I love 'Miles Away' from Mystery To Me.
Todd is a fascinating dude...great stories!
Great interview!
Thank you, Don! ❤
Watched the Cal Jam 2 video. Awesome guitar solo by a handsome and boyish looking Todd

Mick acted in several Star Trek TNG episodes, Mr. Hohm(?). He didn't speak but sure used those expressions Todd talks about.
I’m about to listen to shake. My interest is peaking!!
Todd Sharp is the Forrest Gump of my entire album collection and music taste... holy smokes the guy "found" himself EVERYWHERE!
You could of said the Zelig instead of gump, he's brighter than that, but I get what you're saying
Thumbnail of the year Otis. Ha ha.
Haha! : )
Great stories, it's a shame that Mick later ensured Bob Welch wasn't included in the RnR HoF induction. Will have to look out for The Visitor.
I believe Richard Bailey is from Ghana. Amazing drummer.
I’ll attest to the fact that The Visitor is a very cool album..! I had to check it out.. Maybe I’ll cover a couple with the guys..🙏🏻❤️ Thanks Todd and Otis..!
Thanks, Joe! ❤

It was originally called “Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac” Peter was nice enough to include them in the name,

Not nearly enough info to be found on Bob Welch. A person I’ve been fascinated by him for years
Mick Fleetwood/ The Visitor
this guy is cool as shit
Where it comes from. ❤❤
Wait a sec, This version of Rattlesnake has Peter Green on it??? Was he There too or was it dubbed later?
I am jealous
I would bet that more people heard of bob weir than bob Welch 🤷
Has this guy ever detested working with anyone ?
Sounds like these were pretty decent people to work with, the checks cleared, what’s to detest?
