I had a feeling what the issue would be with that first machine but I was totally surprised at how effortless it is to accomplish the adjustment! Right there in full view without having to remove a wheel or anything! Now THAT’S good design/engineering! Rare these days. Thanks so much for adding in the second one too! Another lesson learned, Martin. 👏🔧👍
I picked up a 247.28901 MTD built Craftsman non hydrostatic mower, and the damm thing just won't roll. I'll be trying this adjustment tomorrow. Every time I searched for gear driven Craftsman, YT and Google steered me to the Hydrostatic models. They were absoulutely USELESS. Great video, and concise instructions.
Good video. I like your style of right to the point, no distractions due to kids, pets or bad sound/ lighting. As i have in the past when i learn something from your videos, I'm sending a few $$ your way using the "Thanks$$" botton above, as should others that also find value in your videos. Thanks. Peace out and God Bless.😎✌🖖🙏🤝
On the second one do I assume correctly that you need to manually rotate the right wheel while it’s up in the air to confirm the mechanism is in neutral? If not, how? Thx😉
Usually I don't jack it up for this repair but if you spin the right tire the left shaft should not spin when you do. This would tell you it is in neutral
Funny but the first mower is the kind. I'm getting ready to replace the steering gear. I'm hearing the shoulder bolts that hold it on are a pain in the ass. Have you had any doing with this? That could be the next video. But anyways nice vedio here seems everything is getting made weak these day's.
They are a pain when you go to put them back together just to get started but honestly I don't think they are too bad. I do maybe 10 of the steering kits every year and don't mind them at all

Definitely an easy adjustment. Even the second one is just took the tire off for the better views

Glad to help in any way I can. Lifelong learners most of use aim to be anyway. Amazing the things we learn every day
