How pathetic does someone have to be to take pride in creating a bot host an using it to ruin a game?
No one loves them, so they get their joy from being awful

He kid did stuff that caused trouble to everyone and when people yelled at then and scoulded them, they smiled. Because they got attention.
Doesn't matter if it's good or bad, they just want people to pay attention to them. Which is likely what's happening here with the bots. If people ignore them (which is almost impossible given what bots do) or they lose that power, they fade away into the shadows to find another game to upset. As the Joker would say:
"I'd find it funny, if it wasn't so sad."
This game has been on life support with no oversight by its devs for a long time. This was inevitable and anyone who thinks it’s going to be fixed honestly can’t reading the writing on the wall. Just enjoy the game while it’s still up. It could be taken away From us at any time.

Yeah these bots pretty much put me off tf2 since they arrived. I really want to return but knowing the bots got worse since I left, really doesn't encourage me.
Hopefully they can get valve to do something about them, I'd love to return and airblast rockets and homewrecker spy sappers :D

We wont give up so easily gentelmen. We are merceneries we have the resources and the will to make the hours and love we put into this game count.
This whole resurgence of fan support is nice and all, but it won’t do anything to change Valve’s mind. They are very close minded and obviously only see this game as a paycheck. It really wouldn’t surprise me if FixTF2 just came and went like the last cal to action. It’s a very downcast outlook of things, but I can’t realistically see this game getting any better. Ordinarily I would say just go to community servers to have your fun, but we all know that isn’t the same experience.
I would certainly like for this community to get what it wants but I have no confidence it will change anything.
Yeah no this game is unironically done for, especially with what you just said that this isn't the first petition that has happened. It's not pessimism, it's just how it is, time to spread your wings and find a better game

Big mistake of Quickplay being removed. No point in playing Casual when these bots almost never get kicked.
Finally someone talks about how it was the replacement of Quick-play with Casual that brought about the worst of this issue.
Also I too was unable to do the halloween contracts last year, even tried in a bot server, felt like Guts from Berserk.
This on top of being F2P so calling medic or calling out a spy was a no-go.
I'll add that having the game volume lowered would have helped the audio in this video.

The fact that Valve have been stringing fans along and letting TF2 languish for Deadlock is just indicative that Valve is not the same company we grew up loving. They’re chasing trends and have long since lost what made then special as far back as 2016.
that dev complaining about "treadmill work" explains so much about this problem.
Some things just can't be automated efficiently. Instead of spending hundreds of expensive engineering manhours just hire moderators on contract and give them the tools to ban cheating account. Police the game, literally.

I lost hope on TF2 long ago due to how neglectful VALVE has been with all their games but DOTA 2. I still play MvM community servers and Slender Fortress and such, but the lack of NORMAL COMMUNITY VANILLA SERVERS means that the TF2 I once played is officially dead. Only instant respawn on 3 maps (2fort, Dustbowl and Badwater) or alternative gamemodes, pick your choice :)
Yes, Uncletopia exists... but even that does not have all the maps or gamemodes. Yes, LazyPurple and AceTheOcarinaMaker made their own servers, but guess what? I DON'T LIVE IN THEIR CONTINENT! Not only are they empty when I'm awake, but it's also laggy as fuck, almost unplayable. So no can do on that front.
Still backing up this movement. I doubt it'll do anything but what do we have to lose? Fuck VALVE for leaving us to rot and STILL sell cosmetics like it's a fully functional game, and fuck the bothosters too, but they'll probably get a hard-on and will beat their meat thinking about it afterwards, while their moms make chicken tendies no amtter if I say so or not.
And yes, I signed a tthe second day the website was up.
And I don't have twitter but I swear to God if you (as in, the people participating, reading this, and have a Twitter account) stop when VALVE throws another "We HeAr YoU lOuD aNd ClEaR!", I will throw your computer into a blender and make you drink the juice while I make you watch Velma. If they do that, please start a chain of screenshotting the last time they said so. Rub it in their face. Do SOMETHING.
just make quickplay pick from valid community servers again. Pretty sure thats how I got hooked. Game might honestly grow w/o valve servers.

Watch Shounic's video on solutions. Hardware bans are easily bypassed, and they're mostly hosted on cloud services, so it won't change anything.

Remember gents, this is Valve’s fault for allowing the bots to get this bad. They don’t want to see this game flourish, infact at times it feels like they want to see it die, but I say enough it enough, this is unacceptable. MAKE them #FixTF2 and push until the day these bots are GONE.
Valve wants TF2 to die to make way for Deadlock. TF2 is inconvenient for them.

Valve doesnt hate tf2. Theyre indifferent. Its just a revenue faucet for them. If they really "hated" the game, they wouldve axed it years ago

They should make TF2 paid, say 5-10$ and spend some time on the "threadmill" say couple of months to eradicate all bots and keep banning their accounts until they give up, while implementing better anticheat like one used for CSGO/CS2 and some form of Overwatch that CSGO had, and done. Problem solved. Then frequent but not some "threadmilly" purges if need be.

Nothing will happen, people will still happily consume the slop lootcrates and skins Valve shits out every once in a while, money will keep flowing in, people will keep playing. Just like with every other "protest"

I still think Quickplay was superior to Casual with bots disregarded. It was more 'casual' as in relaxed and evenly matched. Pubstomping is far more excessive ever since Meet your Match, so nowadays it's either pubstomping or bots.
Yeah, plus, it actually made community servers matter.
I dont hate the new system on paper, its definitely more streamlined and easier to join on the exact map and mode you want, but in execution, its just quickplay... but worse.
