I just sold my 5th Gen!!
    I loved it!
Theses cars are very light .
    I had a 383 stroker 95 z28.
28 mph and would blister my 5th Gen!
    It was 450 rwhp...
    6 speed.
    Very underrated!
    I am getting another one!
    Real driver car my friends!

Bought my 6 speed Z28 new in 93, ordered it 2 months before they went into production, I've been racing it on all kinds of road racing events since it was new. We did 7 One Lap of Americas through the 90's, and now we've been doing track day events with it for the last couple decades around Michigan, Ohio and Penn. Pulled the motor, built a 600 hp. 383 Lt1, 12:1 JE pistons, AFR heads and Howards crank and rods, Comp cam, all American made parts, put a Moser 9" floating axil road racing rear end in it. The car is flawless at 210,000 miles, most of them on race tracks, the car looks and drives better than new. These are one of the best handling and most aero cars ever built, it's is one of the fastest cars at the track anyplace we unload, I'm so lucky to own a car like this, everything still works, air, stereo, heat, have never touched the six speed, best transmission ever produced.

210k miles on a t56 with track time???? you must be on hell of a driver haha. I got my t56 with 94k miles and it is pretty rough in my 01 trans am. At 98k miles right now. Im thinking next couple years will need a t56 rebuild. the t5 in my 02 v6 daily driver is still smooth after 98k miles though

Did you slam your thumb in the massive camaro door too? lmao I did that same thing when I got my first camaro... very painful, have never done that again. Also yes 2002 was the last for T-tops, I have one of the last 1000 Camaros built before they shut down the plant a pewter grey T-top Camaro. Nice thing about the 02 camaro's is somewhere in 2001 the 4L60E transmissions got a upgrade, so the 4L60's in 01 and 02 were either a performance pack, or the 4L65E wich was basically just another 4L60E performance pack. rated for 380hp (in reality about 450 safely) so good room for improvement on the engine without worrying about it, although the 6 speed is the best option unless your competitive drag racing in wich case your 10bolt will detonate anyway... lol Again, easy to upgrade you can put better axle shafts in the rear and switch between open diff and POSI in just minutes if you happen to have both diffs laying around. (fyi)

98 was first year for LS1 in these. Personally I’m getting a 95 trans am but the mileage and year combined is why. Besides I’m actually one of the few who actually like the LT1. You can spend a little extra cash these days and buy an aftermarket computer and wire it up and change the ignition system to the LS style individual coils on an LT block. Honestly with that combination you’ve got yourself a pretty good setup. It’s heavier than an LS but it’s a design from years of working out kinks where as the early LS engines had some problems with oiling and premature cylinder wear if you weren’t carful

Delta Gaming Your both wrong. The 4th generation Camaro and the Trans Am are both based off the F body. The two cars in this timeframe could not have survived without the other. The trans am was for the guy who wanted sports car style where the Camaro was for the guy who wanted a call back to the muscle car era. The only reason these cars didn’t go straight into 5th generation was because GM at the time made some horrible decisions. Come to think of it they are doing the same now

Delta Gaming like I said horrible decisions. If you look at the sales of the current Camaro it’s the same story. The cars aren’t selling that well because the 6th generation was not well received. The 5th was bad ass though

Delta Gaming id love to find a wrecked one with the 6 speed though. Perfect drivetrain for my 95

Delta Gaming that’s cool. Mines actually a trans am I’m gathering all the stuff the manual swap it but it’s got less than 80,000 miles on it

@@redneckwithajeep5001 The 4th gen Camaro was the last smart decision Chevy ever made. (the 2010-2012 V8 models are not bad, but starting in 2013 with that electronic steering...I will pass)
