Ahoy everyone!
My name is Nike and I have been living and sailing on my sailboat Karl since 2013. After a massive refit marathon, I finally cast off the lines and learnt to solo sail my 37-foot Reinke Super 10 that I called "Karl". I am publishing videos (at the moment every two weeks) about the ups and downs of living, repairing and sailing my boat.
Since January 2022, I have a new permanent crew member: my furry friend Boga. When I started out, I did not know much about boat repair or solo sailing. Since I am still out there, I hope that my story inspires others, to chase their dreams, even if they might think they are not cut out for it. There is always a way, so I'll see you out there!

I think this is possible my first time leaving a message? I wanted to say that although over the years of travels you have had some tough moments and struggles, you are in my mind living an absolutely incredible life experience. The places you're visiting and the things you're experiencing, all the people who you've met over the years, what an absolutely amazing opportunity. I'd like to personally say thank you for taking me along on this voyage with you. As a disabled person, my travelling experiences are unfortunately well and truly over. However, sailing with you, you are allowing me to live this incredible adventure alongside you, I'd personally like to say a massive thank you for your kindness and hard work to make this happen. Thank you! A bit sad episode (because of departure), but new places are waiting! Fingers crossed for your exit through waves and waiting for your new story! Will miss seeing Paul (and waiting the next story about his floating house on his channel) and hope to see captain Maria and sw Joana soon! :)

Solo sailors have a bond unique to any other Mariners. I noticed the other close capts Nicke resembles now who have shaped her to be the outstanding person she is as Karl's El Capitan!!!

I really envy your lifestyle. The solitude and peace of living on anchor with a K9 companion as you do really appeals to me. Unfortunately for me I really don't enjoy the sailing part. Wish I could live is you do without having to move.

This was even making me sad, it’s so hard to leave people who love you and care for you this much especially when you’re not sure if you’ll see them again. It’s always been so obvious to me that all of you were more like family ……..🍀
it is for sure hard. But then Paul and I have said farewell many times already in the past and our wakes crossed again and again. So there is that :). And where there is a will there is a way - usually.
That chain has grown its own micro environment.
Good to be underway though.
Paul has created Eau De Vie from mangos it seems.

You surely have been on anchor too long when your chain has that much growth on it. A girls got to move more often! You looked so beautiful for your last supper with Paul and your friends. Looking forward to your sail and Mexico.

Good job on your pre-departure checks! We used to call it a "shakedown cruise," which I think is a Royal Navy expression. Thank you for sharing with us your heartwarming evening with your lovely friends, your found family, before you set sail again. That deep peace you enjoy there is the same as in a place I discovered on my travels, where I returned to when I came ashore after twenty years and have now made a good home here. Love to you.

Schönes Video was zusehen ist würde ich als Paradiesisch bezeichnen wollen alles da was es braucht glücklich zu sein Freunde gutes warmes Wetter, Meer und leckeres Essen .
Abschiede gehören halt auch dazu und wenn es gute Freunde sind kreuzen sich die Wege mehrfach auf der Reise die sich Leben nennt .

yes, it was a sad one indeed.
What is she doing ?? I mean she started this channel 5 or more yrs back with buying a boat in South America .. how come she is still stuck here ? What her goal… ? Earlier she said her plan is to sail back to Germany .. but for seven yrs she is still stuck here !!!
"She" actually started ten years ago. And yes, still in Central America :). Guess plans changed, it does happen...only because I said one thing or the other here on RUclips, it does not mean that I am bound to it. Ever heard the expression that a sailor`s plans are written in the sand at low tide?
