We've finally reached a point where people around this world are testing the limits of what the instruments they grew up with are capable of. Record everything, even if we can't figure out where it goes or what it represents, scream it out to the stars... Music might be what outlives us all. It's the language that doesn't need to be explained. It just needs to be felt.

I am an American scholar of music. I own many instruments from across Asia - the Phin from Thailand, the Sitar of India, the Shamisen and Sanshin of Japan and Okinawa. I have learned to play them all, and now my gaze turns to the traditional musical instruments of China - the Guquin, the Sanxian, the Pipa, Yuequin, and Luiquin.
I hope one day you will see my music on RUclips as I have seen yours, and I will be eager to see what new music you create!

As of the turn of the decade, we have had folk metal, doom metal, medieval metal, and a few others just come out and hit hard.
