The original version of this song holds a *lot* of memories and emotions for me, so I tend to be very critical of any attempt to cover it. But this version is remarkable. Powerful. Totally evokative of the original and yet also very unique. When the bowed instrument came in (I'm sorry, I don't know what it's called) it soared in the same way that Art Garfunkle's voice soars, and I stopped breathing so I could hear it better. Just beautiful.

I think the most beautiful part is the blending of the cultures. Honoring their traditional roots while adapting Western music. Music is one of the universal languages and it is beautiful how it can bring us together, even from across the globe. Perhaps, even across the universe.

I listened to this song all the time during highschool and then watching out for it on radio in the evening. I feel back in time as the teen I was once.
