Two fine actors as well as songsters, Allan certainly creates a character
Bravo! All the Tölzer Knabenchor boys in this opera were nothing less than spectacular.
Here the diminutive Allan Bergius is only 11 (eleven!) and Panito 12, and apart from being fantastic singers they do an absolute phenomenal ACTING. In spite of singing with wonderful musicality the difficult arias and recitativos (and in another language than their own!) they act with the exact right movements in the exact right moments to make the play liveful - better than I´ve seen a lot of adult male and female opera singers do... Yes, 11 and 12 years old...!
I think this boy has at that age already a very great personality. So he don't care if he sings a womans role. His voice is splendid and his acting is brilliant. If I had sung this, I would be very, very proud of this performance the rest of my life ! What is wrong with the frog ? Have you had problems yourselves ?

essslj - Yes, you are right! Just think of his performanceas the alto soloist among Parrott´s world famous grown-up star team in London in 1984 (Bach´s B-Minor Mass), his recitatives, arias and duets in the Bach cantatas and - of course - his marevllous "Es ist vollbracht"...! More than on critic has rated the latter as the world´s best-ever boy singer performance.
What a fabulous performance from these two outstanding singer and actors, Allen still 11 years and Panito 12; such a well matched pair; a foretaste of their triumphs ahead. Panito was an incredible alto and interpreter of Bach.
Which one is Allen ?

Oh, wie schön,vielen, vielen Dank, das ist wunderbar!!! Schade, dass diese Fassung nicht mehr erreichtbar ist! Das muss Panito sein, oder?

Yeh I believe it is but it seems to have some different versions..there've been a few clips here some have French subtitles like this one while some have no subs..
Why pity... I find it so much better than playing football in the mud and shout to other boys in school in forced chest voice, playing "who's the most macho in the classroom"....
remarkable, though not a little odd. you have to pity the lad in the frock - still I'm sure that after ten years of therapy he's ok again.
