I have been in Kings Island 2 times. I love it out there. It better than in Denver at Elitch’s. It’s small not like Kings Island. I used to live in Portsmouth, Ohio for 5 years and moved back in Denver.
@ElizabethRingas it's OK. We all make mistakes. I've watched a few videos, and you aren't the only one. I've never been on the original Top Thrill Dragster, so I've heard a lot of people say it should be faster but for me it will be a new experience so I'm excited for what it is.
TT 2 was not designed to make it over the Tophat on the 1st launch; no way it would happen at 74 Mph anyway; disappointing that it barely makes it up 1/2 way on this initial launch, but I will most likely be singing a different tune when I eventually ride it. I was lucky enough to get 2 rides on TT Dragster when I went to Coater Con in 2018, for the opening of Steel Vengeance --- I suppose I was very lucky to go when I did, although the ERT did not happen on SV, due to 1 train operations after the tiny little bumper car incident 2 weeks after it opened. Substituted with Millie -- 10 rides in a row at 10Pm on a freezing night (LoL).
@@badmoonrising7795 right, but due to how they changed the ride it’s always going to get comparisons and be looked down on. I am tired of hearing that it’s a “NEW” ride. No, it’s a “Refurbished” one
Well, as SFMM is my home park, I have been on Superman many times, and one thing this park does very well, is embellish their ride speeds -- there is no way this is 104 Mph, as they actually advertise it at 100 Mph, so I'm guessing it in the mid to high 90's -- on a good day.
Haha, you've obviously rode the original! We would always run to it first to make sure we got to ride it before it broke down. Got caught many times like that though. :)
@@seanspence78 --- see my previous reply. On my one and only trip to CP in 2018(coaster Con - 2 days), on the 1st day it is the 1st ride I rode because of that same reason, was lucky to hit it too times on that 1st day.
@@Mason-xk2gy, this is what they claim --- I hope somebody actually verifies it: 74 Mph forward launch, 101 Mph backwards launch as it approaches the rear spire, 120 mph forward launch to achieve the top hat element.
Feels like Intamin is a jealous ex-boyfriend, looking on, seeing Cedar Point happy as can be with her new boyfriend Zamperla. The ex0boyfriend thinking about the mistakes he made, wishing he could have her back, and now seeing the 2 of them together only makes the pain worse. Meanwhile, the girl looks back on her time with the ex, and only wonders how she ever could have been with someone like that at all. And is happy as can be in her new relationship, where she feels respected, loved, and doesn't worry about random chunks of metal flying off and killing anybody.
Lol I always find it funny when coaster enthusiasts call it a top hat🎩 when it doesnt resemble it in any form...😂😂😂 lol We need new terminology to decribe it better folks lol
Really? It’s a different experience with more sustained speed and airtime. It sucks we don’t have the acceleration from the old ride but going 100 backwards, then 120, and over a massive airtime hill is still an exciting experience. I can’t see how the second tallest coaster in the world can be “boring” no matter how it launches you.
Yeah the ride basically went from acceleration to a maintained speed experience. Holding judgement until I ride, but I think it’s going to be a one and done coaster for MANY park guests. In the meantime I’ll enjoy shorter waits in frontier town 🤠
@@tracy4019 meh maybe I’m wrong but idk. If the first launch got u to like 300ft for the rollback instead of 150ft I’d agree it’s better. But that first launch looks forceless. Backwards at 100 will easily be the highlight of the ride. Here’s the thing. It will be too intense for anyone that’s not a hardcore fan where after going once they won’t do it again. The others that love coasters will like it, but speed itself is probably not enough to keep people coming back in the long term. I haven’t seen a line over 40 minutes for Millenium in like 5 years. Coaster these days need to have elements or just be insane…unfortunately 3 launches to slowly increase the speed imo is not that special. If it were not for the accident they would have switched it to magnets without the back and worth. That would have been special, but unfortunately maintenance cuts lead to this project instead.

@@chriskay1449no it can’t. They wouldn’t design it to cut your arms off if you put your hands up, because they know a ton of people are going to do it, including a ton of tall people.
People were told for media day to keep hands down..because it’s being filmed and that’s technically how you should ride. I doubt they’ll enforce that on a normal operating day.
@@chriskay1449 No, it can't. Modern coaster safety standards require that nothing can come within six inches of a rider's outstretched arms. The only coasters where you can reach things during the ride (i.e. The Beast) were built before these standards existed.

Yes the top hat airtime is a definite plus
That has to wild, l have dreams/nightmares from the back of Millennium Force.
The ride looks great!
Here king you dropped this 🧢
It’s looks great! Can’t wait to ride it this summer!
That's me bracing for the cold in the second row ! :D
Wicked twister x top thrill dragster
I Love how it's becoming night, but being so tall next to the lake you could see where it's still brighter.
Wow, that looks like an incredible ride experience.
Just rode the the Beast at kings island about 2 hours ago. I got the bug!!

Top Thrill Dragster was a great rollercoaster and Top Thrill 2 is even better!
Nah, I doubtit wilp jave thet same Take off experience of it going from 0-120 in 3.8 seconds
74 mph forward first launch. Not 90
Thoosies would never make that mistake. FALSE ADVERTISING! 😡

If only it was 90…

I honestly thought that too, but I think the 74 transition to 101 feels better.
Even though I’m terrified of coasters, my goal is to ride Top Thrill at least once in my life.
2:25 love that laugh haha
Top Thrill Dragster closed down Sunday.
Very unfortunate, but likely for a good reason that should benefit the ride and riders for the long haul.
AWESOME!
Thanks!
Excellent! 👍🙏
Cedar Point has another winner.

Now this is one more thing that's wrong.
I like the roll back however part of the thrill was not knowing if you would make it over the top . I guess that could still happen.

I thought the idea was for the train to glide over the top not to fly over? At least that’s what the original TTD did and did not try to achieve
