    Hey y'all, thanks for all the views! Just a heads-up, if you are disappointed by how high the train goes on the spike the first clip (I've seen several comments along those lines), that was unusually low. Every other cycle I filmed it went quite a bit higher - watch the rest of the vid to check that out! The ride is testing and I'm sure they're trying to figure out what this launch can do, so the cycles aren't consistent and might not be representative of how the ride will run for guests!

    • @frankthecat1660

      The highest it goes(even in all the footage in this video) is 2/3rds the way up. The animation shows that as well. The top 30% of that spike is pointless.

    I hope it eventually goes higher on the spike. Surely in this early testing they’re erring on the conservative side with the backward launch so they don’t have a “roller coaster tycoon”-type disaster with the trains going too hard up the spike. It must be a tricky calibration between gravity and the launch motors.

    • @g-forceproductions1857
      @g-forceproductions1857  8 месяцев назад

      The part where the coaster runs back and forth is separated from the station by a switch track, a little like you might find in a railroad yard. After leaving the station, the coaster passes over the switch and stops on the launch between the tower and back spike track, then a track switch moves behind it to let it go forwards and backwards. While the train is building up speed, one of the other trains is approaching the station (or is in the unload half of the station; we don't quite know what the setup will be) and the other is in the station loading guests. So 3 trains can run in total. Check out Cedar Point's animation for a visualization.

    • @jrjones604
      @jrjones604 10 месяцев назад

      Literally the same. During TTD, 2nd train would have to wait for 1st train to clear the tower and then sometimes 1st train would have to wait for unloading station to clear. AND THEN the trains would have to wait for catch car to get in the position forever.

  • @sharkheadism
    @sharkheadism 10 месяцев назад

    I wonder how a rollback will be handled by the control system, whereas with TTD you had to bring the train to a stop to try another launch, the magnetic launch system may not stop the train at all and be programmed to just give it another swing to try to get it over the top while it still has its momentum. Hypothetically if the second try was also a rollback it would likely br programmed to abort the attempt and stop the train.

    I know people are wondering why it’s not completing the cycle every time. There is 2 reasons
    1. It’s cold, roller coasters don’t do good in the cold. They are like any other machine they need to warm up to get to their full capacity.
    2. The are still calibrating the LSMs (Linear Synchronous Motor) which are the magnets that propel the trains to 70-100-120 on the launch track. It takes time to calibrate LSMs (Linear Synchronous Motor) they are difficult to calibrate because each day has different conditions. I’m sure Cedar point is hard at work calibrating the LSMs (Linear Synchronous Motor).
