Do i have to prime it too cus i have seen some people do basing at first then prime the model but i think that will not work on tea leaves. I am planning to paint then base it, so how should i do to make it look good with tea leaves

    • @heirofcarnage1782
      @heirofcarnage1782 Год назад +1

      @@kayraurkmez2032 Hey there! Great questions. So I personally find you can just glue the tea leaves down last with no paint or primer at all and the natural color of the leaves looks great (experiment with different types of tea and try using dried used tea leaves for different shades [it makes them darker]). It looks like normal foliage, as there will be a general color and then minor variations.
      To apply this just spread a coating of modge podge (or glue, but modge podge is cheaper) onto the base, and then sprinkle as much leaves as the modge podge can hold. Leave to dry and then gently tap off any excess tea leaves. This produces an amazing natural dry leaf effect.
      Another great option is to apply modge podge and then sprinkle as much of the leaves as the modge podge can hold (tip it side ways for the excess to fall off). Then you can apply more modge podge on top and mix it into a sort of thick slurry, with everything looking wet. After that leave it to dry, and you will get a phenomenal "wet" leaves effect naturally. *Note, must not use matt modge podge. You can also paint this to look like whatever color leaves you would like! I love this for a tropical look, or for going for a raining effect.

    I like this! Basing is a choice. If you don't like basing, don't bother, or just phone it in as shown above. Your game will not suffer. You can even leave the base black and call it good. The mini police will not come for you. I honestly think that a lot of the basing you see is a bit over the top to the point where it starts to detract from the mini itself. Keep it simple, find a balance, base to your own taste, don't get caught up in display competition style stuff when all you want is to bang out a few mini's for a home game.

    I also despise basing
    doesn't matter how you base your models, it always means that there are some settings where the model simply won't fit in
    like doing a forest base wouldn't work if the battle is supposed to be in a desert or city
    so I just don't base my models at all, plain black bases on every single one of them.

I've actually used some of these little smaller ones on bases. I'll put them on the bases to kind of add some you know decor and on some figures, if not standing quite right put a thin little one underneath his foot and kind of lean him in the right direction so he doesn't fall over. Best five bucks I ever spent. Going to use a bunch with my Gaslands stuff too.
