- Sometime back I worked in South Luangwa National Park. I started my safari journey in Luangwa at Croc Valley Camp, and this is where I fell in love with this amazing place. The South Luangwa safari experience is magical, the birdwatching here is stuff of dreams and I welcome you to join me on this virtual safari journey!
In this video I partake in a Croc Valley Camp safari experience, where I go on safari in South Luangwa National Park on a game drive conducted by Croc Valley Camp. Although birding is done best when the drive is designated for the activity. I joined randoms and well did my best to see as many birds as I could. Non the less South Luangwa is not only for birdwatching, the game viewing here is like no where else, and you can say this about every destination cause no where is the same. After the safari in South Luangwa National Park I made my way back to the lodge and did some birdwatching at Croc Valley Camp. as a birdwatching tip, birding on foot is always best, so do not be shy to have a walking safari around camp by yourself and see the birds making their way through Croc Valley Camp.
Although I did not see that many, South Luangwa is a birding haven, there are over 450 bird species recorded and this will have to be a destination you add to your list to come and do some birding.
So make sure to contact me and lets go birding in South Luangwa National Park!

Thanks for watching, see you in the next video!
I've been fortunate to have visited South Luangwa NP twice and enjoyed some fantastic wildlife sightings on both occasions. My knowledge of the area's rich bird life is sadly lacking, however, so it was an education as well as a pleasure to have you identify some native species around camp. Thank you! (Btw, two of my most treasured memories of South Luangwa was seeing the noisy throngs of brilliantly coloured southern carmine bee-eaters nesting in the river banks. And, on night game drives, coming across nightjars resting in the road - including the spectacular pennant-winged nightjar.)
Such an incredible place, and thanks for the comment and you are most welcome. There is some amazing birding in Luangwa, thanks for taking me back with those Carmine Bee-Eaters, I was hoping that I could make it for them but unfortunately my plans did not match that time of year (August - September). They are a spectacle and a half. I cannot wait to go back to Luangwa! Have a nice one!
My goeie Fork-Tailed Drongo... what a Legendary treat of a video. Stunning shots! Like always, never disappoints.
Thank you for sharing this great experience. Can't wait to see more.

The cucumber accents the water in such a way that...
exactly, the flavour of the water is highlighted.
